The fact that I'm scared to post something because it even so much as mentions the Delanceys

It's terrifying and ridiculous and I hate it

I hate that this fandom has gone from the most welcoming fandom I've ever seen to toxicity and telling people who they can and can't like and how they can or can't write them.

If you don't want to write them that way, that's fine. If you want to write them that way, that is also fine. If you want them to be 2d villains with no depth, that's fine. If you want to give depth that's deeper than the Mariana Trench, that's fine. If you want to make them stick to the personality given, that's fine. If you want to completely upend it and give them new personalities, that is also fine.

What isn't fine, is dictating how other people write. How other people enjoy their favorite characters from their favorite shows. Which characters people can or can't like.

And doing it in the rb of children's posts?!

That is not okay. And if you have the mindset that nobody can like certain characters, then you ought to get the hell off my blog.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Villains are fascinating characters. I love finding out why they do what they do.

Giving a villain depth doesn't necessarily mean that I'm erasing what they do. I know that they didn't have to continue the cycle of abuse. I know that they didn't have to join the system that destroyed them. I know.

But, they did. And the finding out why? That is my favorite part.

Why did they join them?

And, if you have a problem with me exploring that question, you can just hop on over to someone else's blog.

No hard feelings, no harm done.

I don't want to be afraid of what my friends are going to think or say when I post something. I don't want fights or conflicts in my notifs.

Felt like ranting have fun

I never liked the love at first sight trope very much

Because i feel like it sorta implies love as this instantaneous thing and that it just works out

But love isnt like that

Relationships take effort. Time, consideration, cooperation, commitment, a lot

And you dont get that automatically

You talk to the person, get to know them, find what you like about them, show them you and whats to like about you, bonding, affection, just learning about each other

The trope especially doesnt work with enemies

With rivals it should be built up with banter and quips while fighting, just little things that the other does that endears the other person

Crushes exist, but i feel like you need to wait a while before acting on it; see if its just a puppy love crush or if its still lasting or stronger

And i also feel like showing kids the love at first sight trope can be misleading to them since theyre still learning and its important for them to know that any relationship—not just romantic—takes effort and communication

With my partners i waited a bit each time to see if i was really feeling attraction or if im just happy to be with a friend and well here i am

With some characters or relationships i can see the love at first sight trope maybe working; like one of my ocs Sappho falls in love really easily and it might work with her but it also leads to some potential angst

Love at first sight just isnt really my cup of tea

Its been quite a while huh

Ive gotten into multiple different things, i live in the mountains, i have a new therapist, a bunch of cool friends, so much! Im feeling really good lately, but i still have those depressed days

Im currently hyperfixated on stray because heehoo robots and kibby <3 but its 2 am and i decided “yknow i havent looked at my jsab stuff for a bit” so here i am! I want to work more of the faded and monotone story, but i still need to get stuff done with jfac and im also writing my own stray fic

I finally decided to look up some stuff because i always feel weird and i guess wrong for being energetic and happy at night and on rainy days because people say its not normal

Apparently it can be a genetic thing

Also i liked one line about “forcing a nocturnal creature into a diurnal cycle will kill it sooner or later” because i guess it gives me some sort of validation that this is okay for me and trying to ‘fix’ myself would be detrimental instead

Staying up and being energetic at night is typically described as a ‘circadian rhythm disorder’ which im just assuming is any sort of deviation from normal diurnal behavior including things like insomnia

Also apparently for the rain thing its called being a ‘pluviophile’ which sounded kinda scary cuz of what the word ‘phile’ is usually associated with but remember that phile is just the opposite of phobia; it justs means you like something rather than fear it (like that time in science with hydrophobic and hydrophilic things in cells)

And this paragraph from an article “Sensitive pluviophiles are people who are deeply affected by the weather. They can be happy or sad depending on whether it's raining. For them, rain is a very emotional experience. They might find themselves feeling nostalgic or reflective when it rains.” I think applies to me most because im just so happy and relieved and calm when it rains

Its a little silly but i kinda worship the stars as like a higher being i guess, and have a lot of personal beliefs about it even if its not a real ‘religion’. Mentioning this because whenever i see rain clouds rolling in or wake up to ‘gloomy’ weather i stop to thank the stars for giving me rain for a day thats how happy i get

So my little jokes about being nocturnal? Thats true. Im unironically calling myself a nocturnal human now

If you dont like it just go to sleep and let ME enjoy the moon and the stars and the peacefulness of night
