speaking of the manager (from the hotel podcast). god she is the most fascinating character on the show to me. her obsession with controlling the things within her grasp and keeping entropy at bay bc it's the only way she knows how to cope with the complete random chaotic cruelty of the world she lives in. the way she's always so calm and collected except for when she's Not. so angry and sad and yet so empty and unfeeling. how she's just as confused and scared and angry as the lobby boy and the owner she just refuses to let it show on the outside in the way that they do but she's equally as lost.

her fragility, her strength, the violence inflicted upon her and the violence she inflicts on others. she's the glue who holds them all together but she's slowly falling apart. the moments when her facade slips and she allows herself to feel rage or grief or joy or bloodlust just for a moment before it's gone again. the deep love and care she has for the others which she doesn't even realise she has within her. the vindictive petty cruelty which she isn't aware of either and yet wields constantly.

also when she gets mad thinking abt a plush toy frog. and pushes books off the desk while the owner is trying to tidy up like some kind of wretched cat beast. oh how i love her i adore her
