I'm Back!

Wow, so Lent is over now, so my tumblr fast is also over and I'm still a little in shock, lol. I had hoped the past six weeks? I don't know, Time is weird, would be more productive but at least I got SOME stuff written/posted. Anyway, I have one more month of school and then fucking FINALS so expect sporadic updates at idiot-o-clock hours of the night, and maybe yell at me to sleep, eat, study, or drink water whenever i do post 😅

I am up to SO EFFING MANY wips rn on so many different fronts you guys have no freaking idea 😭 so here's a status report for EVERYTHING on or going on sardonic_sprite. (Its gonna be a monster post, y'all, bear with me)

in absolutely no particular order:

Wayne4Ham: We have a LONG way to go with this one, so just be patient and I'll slowly but steadily plug on through. Aaron Burr, Sir, should theoretically take me no longer than end of april

Wayne-Crazy: there's like 4 specific requests on it, plus a few 'series' i started, but after those, say 6-7, i'll probably mark as complete and only re-open if someone offers me an idea

Batman Beginners: i'll tell y'all up front, this one will take me forever. i don't even know what all I intend to cover, but know that i'm halfway done with the DITF arc, and it'll probably come out in the next two months

Just A Kid: this was my shits-and-giggles fic that got like 3000 notes in a weekend lmao. it's something i do intend to continue bc its so fun and i enjoy the concepts in it, but i don't have plans to actively write more of it in the immediate future.

Rev Wayne: just gave y'all Jason's fic, so the next probably won't come until late in summer, extrapolating from my few data points. if anyone has ideas for timmy's intro, let me know, i'd love some inspiration

Celeb Batwaynes: reported separate from wayne-crazy for reasons. i think theres like 12 specific requests plus 2 ideas of my own. i may put out a poll for the next one to write, but not until after school's out, because these fics are HUGE time-eaters for me. speaking of, are non-tumblr-users able to vote on polls?

Welcome to Gotham U: this was again, me doing shit bc why not. will probably add more in the style that i first posted, but i doubt i will write any prose for it. if you would like to give it a try, please reach out, i'd love to see what you write!

One Diamond: every time i touch this i make the cliffhanger worse lmao. i finally do have a direction, but execution is gonna have to wait a while.

The Young, Innocent, and Righteous: this is mostly just for me anyway, but i'm just gonna say that i'm waiting until i finish watching miraculous season 5 before i go any further

AS you wish: i have 5 more requests to do and i am so sorry to everyone waiting you do not deserve this lmao. i promise im trying, i love your ideas, it just takes me a really long time to fill in the rest and then actually write it. the next one on my list is particularly hard to pin down and so it's halting the ones behind it to. if not before, then after finals i will sit and bang my head on the keyboard until something good comes out

Light Isn't Fadin': soooooo many people have asked me about this one oof. SOMEDAY, i swear. right now its a huge, nebulous, hulking monster and im sorry it's just not happening yet.

A christmas carol: wait until december. please

Father's Day: june.

A Little Problem: over the summer, i will watch marvel movies until they once again hijack my brain and fuel this to completion. maybe.

easter eggs: how the fuck did i forget this lmao. i'm doing as much as i can in april, but when the month is done, i'm sorry, we'll all be waiting until next lenten season. hopefully it won't come to that.

aaaaand i THINK that's finally it. there's also a bunch of random paragraphs in word and google docs that may appear, not to mention ideas that kidnap me in dark alleys. but i also have like a good half dozen other wips for other places that im trying to attend to, so please be forgiving if it seems like its taking a while to post something as sprite.

RAZOR AND KORROSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey folks, sorry for running 48 hours late but better late than never, here's my 2nd review of 2023, Razor and Korrosive!!!!!!!!! This was my 5th time seeing Razor and the first time in 7 years I had seen them as last I saw them was on June 10, 2016 down in Waterloo when they were direct support for Annihilator. I'll also add it was the first time in almost 13 years that I saw Razor both play a headline show and play in Toronto as the last time I saw that was on November 12, 2010 at the El Mocambo and it was an intense af show since it was on a Friday Night at that time. It was a great night not just for thrash metal, but April 29th, 2023 is the day the Toronto Maple Leafs finally broke their 1st round drought after 19 years thanks to John Tavares scoring the series clinching goal in overtime to KO the Tampa Bay Lightning or more like Tampax Decay Blightning since them winning consecutive stanley cups in 2020 and 2021 made the playoffs boring and a blight to the entertainment in stanley cup playoffs, so it was satisfying to see the Colorado Avalanche bury their chances of dynasty status alive last June and further satisfying to see Steve Stamkos cry like a little bitch given how he did the unforgivable thing of bullying a friend of mine back in high school and never apologizing for it.

Let's begin the festivities!!!

I missed Rippr'd due to having to do a few things at home but I got there as Mortal Annoyance were playing and they weren't bad from what I saw, however I was distracted a bunch of times by the Leafs-Lightning game that was being shown on TV at the bar area and not gonna lie I felt the anxiety rippling through my body.

Once Mortal Annoyance got off stage and I made my way to the front and as the game went into overtime, I'm minding my business and taking sporadic glances at the TV, out of nowhere the bar roars in euphoria and raise the metal horns in the air and the rest of the venue is in a frenzy since the Leafs just killed a 19 year 1st round curse that had plagued them for so long and I was relieved and could feel my adrenaline levels shoot up for the next act...

KORROSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 4th time catching them as I last saw them 9 months ago also at the Rockpile when they opened for Exciter, which was also 8 days before I left for Europe at that time and this was better for me because I had begun to feel the lingering effects of having inadvertently fasted for 48 hours. This time around I made the effort to eat something before leaving my home, albeit a late lunch of wings and fries, but it gave me enough fuel to bang my head until I broke my neck and Korrosive continue to kick ass and take names. I'll also add I talked to a chap afterwards who shared my sentiments of us being fervent critics of the Rockpile mainly due to the location of it being out of my way since I live close to downtown Toronto and nowhere near Etobicoke or any of the other suburbs, but we both agreed that when Korrosive are on the bill and surrounded by other solid bands, it becomes impossible to pass up. It was also awesome for Korrosive to give a shout out to William Yum since he had been stabbed in the early morning hours of Saturday, but thankfully his wounds weren't life threatening and the extra layers of clothing saved him from having more serious wounds. Plus his bloodied John Tavares jersey brought luck to the Leafs' fortunes 😉

After Korrosive it was time for the legendary Canadian Thrash Juggernauts, RAZOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 5th time seeing them as last I saw them was with Annihilator and Striker down in Waterloo at Maxwell's, it was also the first time in nearly 13 years I see them in both Toronto and as the headliners as I last saw them at El Mocambo on November 12, 2010 with Fatality, Aggressor, Nitemare, Vindicator, and Joe Thrasher and I remember it being a great night. I'll also highlight that Dave Carlo's banter in between songs is hilarious especially when he introduced himself as "Some fuckin blind guy on guitar" after doing the band introductions and then afterwards asked if there were any leaf fans and it got a big roar and he also made reference to them winning the game, he also said "I love our audiences all over the world but the reason I love North America and especially Canada is because you get our sense if humour, whenever we play anywhere else and we make too many jokes the people in the audience go *crosses arm and looks down to pantomime an audience member not being amused by the joke* and we then have to play more" it was also awesome of Dave to give William Yum a shout out for coming out after being attacked the night before, plus Dave Carlo was roasting journalists who gave Cycle of Contempt bad reviews and I'll add the day it came out was also the day Piledriver frontman Gord Kirchin died after a battle with lung cancer. Also frontman Bob Reid had amusingly chimed in when Dave was giving out guitar picks and he said "Are you done Santa Claus?" Then Dave asked him if he gives out picks and Bob goes "Not me!" Also Dave then talked with bassist Mike Campagnolo and Dave said "You want me to tell the crowd that you're handsome?" Then it became another comedic banter about Mike's looks. Dave Carlo also talked about wearing a cowboy hat for a change as opposed to the baseball hats he wears on stage and he had made reference to his son being autistic and how it was his birthday and they both went to a convention or a place that was selling cowboy apparel and his son persuaded Dave to buy a cowboy hat and wear it. All in all Razor once again delivered a solid set and here's what their setlist looked like:

All in all a great night for thrash metal and the Leafs finally coming up on the winning side. Plus it was even greater to see the Oilers give the Kings an oil slick for a 2nd consecutive year. Plus last night the Panthers completed the comeback to KO the President's Trophy winning Bruins in overtime, as it will be Leafs and Panthers in the 2nd round. Also the Kraken KO'd the defending Champs Colorado, so now a new Champ will be crowned and it will be someone who hasn't won in a long time or has never won that will get it.

by wanting a lot of attention, do you mean he texted a lot and wanted to hang out a lot?? I'm with a guy right now and he texts me every day but sporadically and idk how to feel cause I always expected it to be chatting 24/7 when you start being with someone and if you're not, it's a problem lol but everyone's different probably

umm like we’re both busy people, he owns his own company and works and is a student and I work like 10 hours a day 6 days a week and taking an online course and I was getting ready to leave for a month so I literally had 0 time. I did nothing but work everyday sometimes for 12 hours just to make sure I could reach all my deadlines to be able to leave

and he was always telling me to never be sorry if I’m busy because like I say you have to live your life for yourself, and I work hard now so that things could maybe be 1% easier in the future etc etc but he would always say that he liked that I was always busy or how driven and ambitious I was and was understanding and chill if we can’t see each other for 2 or 3 weeks because we’re both busy, and I was like wow sweet perfect finally someone who gets me but he became so like??? cling, and wanted to spend every second with me, if I said I couldn’t go out or I was at the office late he’d try to come to my office or come over or try to get me to come over and like cute??? maybe if we were actually dating or if we knew each other for a long time but we didn’t so he’d be just a distraction while I tried to work with my super tight deadline and I basically told him that and he wouldn’t stop? or would keep texting me and get annoyed if I took like 9 hours to answer a text and it’s like????? I’m at fucking work my dude like can you not? you know how stressful and how everything is dropped on me. I didn’t waste 7 years or my life studying to throw it all away for a guy and if I had like 3 hours free and I wanted to see a friend or go home and sleep because I was drained he would kinda try to guilt me and I even told him not to pull shit like that with me because of past relationships and I won’t let anyone control me or make me feel bad for focusing on myself and idk like even my friend called it at one point telling me how stuck he was becoming and it honestly was becoming so suffocating and I hated every time my phone vibrated because I knew it was him and I didn’t want to check it anymore like even when I told him everything he would just pull shit like ‘you’re stuck with me, we made plans we’re going to do them, etcetc’ like chill my dude

there’s just a lot that happened within a week I won’t talk about that made me uncomfortable and I could tell he was trying to play games and I’m not 16 anymore, I’m not going to play around a subject or something I say what’s on my mind, how I feel or what bothers me and I expect you, a grown adult man, to do the same especially when I said this before to him and again he was like ‘oh thank god, I’m exactly the same’ bitch where? long story short, I’m over it

but he was really pretty so that’s unfortunate
