An AU where Horace dies when he challenges Morgarath. He still wins, but dies shortly after from all his injuries.

Wrote a small drabble for it too

Will hugged Tug’s neck and then Evanlyn. They both had one hell of a luck that Halt appeared when he did. Otherwise Evanlyn would be at the Temujai’s mercy and later on, Will would be too, since there was no way he could escape in time.

„Halt! I’m so glad you’re here!“ he said, almost going to hug his mentor too. Will looked around.

“Horace isn’t with you?” he asked. “Is he back at the Battleschool?”

Halt looked away, refusing to meet his apprentice’s eyes. Will frowned, his smile vanishing.

“He is alright, right?” he asked, his tone getting urgent.

Halt stayed silent.

“Right?” Will pressed on, a feeling of dread settling in his stomach. Halt sighed, looking at him now.

“Will... Horace didn’t make it.”
