It was late, and yet Nanami couldn't sleep. Personally, his mind was wrapped around so many things that he didn't know how else to think. He took a walk, around the school and it didn't work out for him. So going to a place he normally would go where he wanted to hide from everyone he was just there sitting at the edge. his head was titled back, and he stared at the sky,

He wasn't expecting anyone to come around, but the second he heard some footsteps he turned his head and saw a woman. Part of him couldn't help but wait to hear what she had to say. Slowly he turned back away and looked down.

" hello, Shoko."

he said lightly. Not sure why should would bother to come around him of all people. Normally she would be taking care of Geto or Gojo, or hanging around haibara. He wasn't anything worth spending time with. Even this late at night.

It probably wasn't the answer she expected. As he said those words, Inosuke knew very well that his actions had spoken the entire opposite.

He had been distant with his comrades. As they all seemed to relish in this hard-earned peace, as they all thrived and rejoiced at their new daily lives... Inosuke was lost. He was restless.

He only looked forward to the regular checkups at the butterfly mansion. The trip felt like an adventure, as he would guide his friends to the forest, pretending to fend off threats that didn't actually exist. In the plain daylight, no wild animal would attack them.

No demon would ever cross their path again.

Inosuke refused to break down in front of his former comrades. When his thoughts wandered places he didn't like, he would run away. Take to the woods, hide for hours, sometimes days. Come back disheveled, famished and exhausted.

Kanao must have noticed the turmoil that ate him inside. While his body hardly bore signs of the final battle, aside from an X-shaped scar across his chest, the ache was deeper. She must have seen it in his eyes.

"You always know everything. Even if I don't say that I feel bad... you see it. That's just how good your eye is."

His gaze had dropped to his lap, as she moved the stethoscope across his back.

"... do you still think about her? Shinobu?"

kanao has always been so kind to him & the other attendants. she did not need to have words to express how she cares about those who are close to her. just her company & presence alone was comforting & very much appreciated. hearing those words from her was already surprising since he was the one who would frequently offer words of reassurance to those who were in need of them. the former tsuguko had most certainly improved her communication skills since the first time they met. they all missed lady kocho & that was very evident at the mansion, especially among kanao & the younger girls. he offers the young femme one his signature soft smiles, ❝ you're right, kanao-chan. we're going to get through this together. we always have, right? ❞

His bed was far more comfortable and bigger for them to share. so then again she just said he shouldn't be left alone. the man sighs softly for a moment.

" Sorry, I don't like that idea at all. My bed is big enough for two, It's not like my couch is comfortable enough for you. If you are staying you might as stay near me... Since after all, you don't think I should be left alone. You can have one of my shirts to sleep in if you like."

One leg crossed over the other, foot bobbing slightly in the air, Link supported his head with his hands, eyes closed as he enjoyed the breeze dancing through the air every so often. It was a rare peaceful moment on their travels, a chance to take a break from the heat of the day of travel in a place safe enough to allow a break. And if they happened to be near a whole field of Silent Princess blooms, then that was just a happy accident.

Link could hear rustling near his head though, in the direction where he last saw Zelda, and he could only assume she was moving toward him, although he kept his eyes closed for the moment. It would be nice to take a nap, even if it wasn't something he was used to doing, and he scratched at an ear, resettling shortly after.

Careful hands worked through his hair, freeing it from the hair tie where he usually kept it bound and out of the way. It was getting long, he knew, and he knew he should get it cut soon, if only to keep it from getting in his face, but he found himself distracted by the thought by the fingers carefully twining something through his hair just at the crown of his head. Cracking one eye open questioningly, both hands wiggled next to his sides, palms up << What? >> But he caught the familiar petals sticking out of his hair just at the edge of his vision, smile growing on his lips.

The sweltering heat had almost managed to snuff out the boar's usual enthusiasm. Until Kanao came to find him with a large basket of watermelon slices, upon Shinobu's instructions, Inosuke thought he might just shrivel up like a leaf on the ground. It was never so hot up on his mountain.

He devoured the slices at an alarming rate, flesh and skin alike, fingers and chin dripping with fresh juice. Th fruit tasted wonderfully fresh, soothing his boiling body.

"This is good! So good!" He marveled as he reached for a sixth slice, emerald eyes sparkling with relief and gratitude.

"Thanks. I thought I was gonna die."

The Class Rep had to be on top of things, always paying attention to the little things others didn't spare a glance at. Maybe it made her finicky, hard-headed, but it also meant she knew Asuka's boba order by heart, knew how her smile looked when it matched her eyes, knew when her favourite magazine would be in the shops again.

But it seemed for every drop of knowledge about the other girl she hoarded, there was a whole ocean unknown to her.
