Single Window approves 34 projects including expansions

The 26th meeting of State Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority was held here late evening on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and approved 34 project proposals for setting up new industrial enterprises and expansion of existing units involving total proposed investment of approximately Rs. 1754.44 crore and employment potential of about 3635 persons.

MANILA – Oil companies have announced they are implementing price increases on fuel products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) this week.
Starting Tuesday, Chevron, Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines, Seaoil, and Shell will raise diesel prices by PHP0.85 per liter and gasoline prices by PHP1 per liter.
Chevron, Seaoil, and Shell will also increase prices of kerosene by PHP0.70 per liter.
Gasoline prices at the pump have been increasing for five straight weeks, and four consecutive weeks of price hike for diesel and kerosene products.
Meanwhile, LPG prices are up for this month.
Starting Monday, Petron implemented PHP0.82 per kilogram increase on LPG, and PHP0.46 per liter on AutoLPG.
Prices of Solane-branded LPG also rose by PHP0.65 per kilogram.
The LPG price hike translates to PHP7.15 to PHP9.02 increment on costs of a regular 11-kilogram LPG tank.
The price adjustments reflected movements in the global market. (PNA)

Unique Pinoy specialties highlighted in Solane Kitchen Hero Chef’s Edition

Solane, the leading LPG solutions brand, launches its grandest culinary competition yet. Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition is the first-ever cooking competition that aims to discover the next big name in the culinary world. This regional-to-national cooking tilt will go from north to south, and across 16 regional stops in the country to recognize a new generation of talented chefs.
“We believe that the Philippines has some of the best and most talented chefs in the world,” says Isla LPG Corp. CEO Ruben Domingo. “Through the Solane Kitchen Hero competition, we aim to recognize these chefs who are vital in bringing Filipino cuisine to the world stage. At the same time, we are on a quest to explore and highlight Filipino specialties that are unique to our provinces.”
For this one-of-a-kind cook-off, participants must be Filipino professional chefs with at least three (3) years of kitchen experience gained locally or abroad. They must be currently employed as a professional chef in a hotel, restaurant, or any food service establishment.
The competition will comprise of two (2) rounds. Round one will be the regional competition where contestants from the different provinces per region will compete to determine who among them will represent their region in the national competition. Round two will be the semi-finals and grand finals where all regional champions will cook-off to find out who among them will be hailed the champion of Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition.
The culinary creations will be judged by renowned chef and Solane Kitchen Hero ambassador Chef Sau del Rosario and bestselling author and Solane Kitchen Hero competition director Nancy Reyes-Lumen. It will be based on the following criteria: 50% featured ingredients and 50% originality and creativity. The competition will conclude on September 7, 2019 at Eastwood City, Metro Manila.
The winner of Solane Kitchen Hero Chefs’ Edition will take home P100,000 and will embark on a culinary trip to Japan with customized stops at different food and drink destinations. This exciting cooking contest is made possible with the support of dynamic organizations and brands championing the same passion for cookery in the country. STI serves as their official school partner while Midea is a co-presenter. Major sponsors are Masflex, Jolly, Jolly Heartmate Canola Oil, Dona Elena, and Dona Elena Al Dente. The recipe must include at least one (1) local ingredient inherent to the province being represented.

रसोई गैस सिलेंडर फटने से एक की मौत, छह घायल देश के जिला सोलन के बद्दी शहर के लेबर चौक के पास रात करीब साढ़े नौ बजे एक घर में घरेलू रसोई गैस सिलेंडर के फटने से एक युवक की मौत हो गई। हादसे में छह अन्य लोग घायल हुए हैं। यूपी का दरभंगा निवासी यह परिवार बद्दी के लेबर चौक के पास रहता था। पुलिस के मुताबिक प्रकाश चंद यहां अपनी पत्नी सुकु कुमारी और बेटे रवि, रघुवीर, बेटी गुड़िया और रविना के साथ रहता था। रात करीब साढ़े नौ बजे खाना बनाते वक्त अचानक सिलेंडर हीटअप होकर धमाके के साथ फट गया। हादसे में बड़े बेटे रवि (20) की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। इसके अलावा परिवार के अन्य सदस्य बुरी तरह झुलस गए। इसमें प्रकाश चंद और उनकी पत्नी सुकु कुमारी सहित अन्य बच्चे गंभीर रूप से घायल हुए हैं। सभी घायलों को पीजीआई चंडीगढ़ रेफर कर दिया गया है। फायर ऑफिसर प्रकाश चंद ने बताया कि सिलेंडर पांच किलो का था। धमाका होते ही घर में आग लग गई। यहां एक और सिलेंडर भी पड़ा था लेकिन इसे आग पकड़ने से बचा लिया गया।

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – At least 11 individuals were arrested for illegally trading petroleum products in Barangay Bigte, Norzagaray town on Monday.
Col. Lawrence Cajipe, provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said in a media interview on Tuesday that the Bulacan Intelligence Unit conducted an operation inside the Tiger Gaz Corporation, a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling plant in Barangay Bigte, upon receiving information on such illegal activities.
He identified the arrested suspects as Enrique Rivera III of Barangay Sta. Rosa II, Marilao town; Gemma Rosello, Arsenito Diocampo and Randmar Castro, all residents of City of San Jose del Monte; Mark Anthony Casucot, Joel Buloro, Mark Gil Carin, Paul John Sarenas and Mark Anthony Torrenueva, all of Barangay Bigte; and Richard Suerte Felipe and Francisco Ramos, both residents of Malolos City; all in Bulacan.
Cajipe said the suspects were caught in the act of refilling several LPG tanks without brand names while others bear various brands such as Petron, Solane, Phinoy, Rising Sun, Continental, Shellane, and Sam Gas, among others.
He said the suspects failed to present any pertinent documents or permits from the Department of Energy (DOE), Bureau of Fire Protection, and authorization from the companies that own the branded tanks/cylinder.
Recovered from the suspects were some 100 pieces of LPG tanks/cylinder tanks of different brand names and vehicles being used in the delivery of LPG products.
Cajipe said the arrested persons and the confiscated pieces of evidence, including the vehicles used in the delivery of the items were brought to the Provincial Intelligence Unit office for documentation.
He added that the suspects will be charged with violation of Presidential Decree No. 1865 on the illegal trade of petroleum products. (PNA)
