Where I Shop, How I dress, What kind of clothes do I fuck with.

Since I’ve been getting a lot of asks about where I shop, I might as well just post about it. I get them a lot and I think I should tell you guys where I shop, my favorite brands, what I wear, and etc.

1. I thrift. Anonas (the ones near the train station) and along Sucat are the ones I usually go to if I want to thrift with my friends. Starmall Alabang has a few thrifts too and my friend thrifts there. I do too and I got a shit load of good finds there once. But as long as we pass by a thrift, no matter where we are, we always tend to look. With thrifted, you can’t trust just one shop. Because sometimes, the thrifts I go to are dead as fuck. It’s really just by chance. And you gotta be adventurous. You gotta look through every single thing if you really wanna find something you like. You gotta keep your eyes and mind wide open for this one.

2. IG Shops. Okay, so I don’t really shop on Instagram anymore. But I used to. A lot. I used to go to Pre-Loved shops online and look through their stuff. I used to budget myself. (But I stopped. Don’t ever stop pls. Lmao) I shopped on Instagram at around 2013 - 2014. And I stopped. But I’ve been semi-loyal to a few shops. Like @/seashop @/polytolyowie and @/_bcs.ph. Most of them make good quality customized shirts and I dig those.

3. Forever 21, H&M, and Uniqlo. Also known as my Big Three. The trickiest part about these shops is that the line between LAME and I FUCK WITH THIS is really fucking thin. They could go from “OG design. I dig this” to “What the fuck is ‘I wanna be a potato’. So you gotta be careful when buying things from them. Sometimes, it sets you off your aesthetic radar. But if you fuck with it, sure, buy it. I’m just awfully careful about things I buy from them. Although, you could get your essentials from there too. Like plain leather jackets, sweatpants, hoodies, socks, and denim jackets.

4. Topman Socks. I’ve always been into quirky, weird socks. Everyone who knows me knows that. I fuck with plain socks too but I love the loud ones. It’s mandatory for me to check Topman if they got anything I could wear. Sometimes though, it gets little too much. Like a little too unnecessarily loud. But then, when they DO make really pretty socks, I freak out.

STREETWEAR BRANDS:

International:

Supreme: I fuck with Supreme so much. It’s probably one of the most popular street brands here. Even with it’s simple yet overused bogo (box logo), not everyone can still wear it. I can’t even wear Supreme all the time. Hell, I can’t even afford it. But I fuck with it so much.

Odd Future/Golf Wang attire: Not everyone knows what the pink donut stands for. But when you do, you fucks with the vision. HAHAHA Joking aside, most of the inspirations of my aesthetic comes from Golf Wang. Not just the brand but also the group Odd Future. Tyler The Creator became one of my biggest fashion icons. He still is until today. He got me into the whole dressing like a tito/lolo deal. He got me into awkward cut jeans and socks with them. He got me into ugly clothing making them look pretty.

Stussy: I get real fucking picky when it comes to Stussy. Sometimes, wearing the logo doesn’t cut it unless it’s looks good on the shirt. But most of the time, Stussy’s ballin’. I don’t have a lot of Stussy stuff. But I love the way it remains its cleanliness on the design.

Thrasher: I’m a self proclaimed Thrasher kid. I fuck with Thrasher high-key. The shirts I got are from Zumiez. I bought them from the states. Some of them are bought by my dad, my friends, and my boyfriend. All from Zumiez or online, I guess. I fuck with Thrasher so hard. I don’t even care if everyone else is wearing it. It’s just so good.

Vans/Converse/Adidas: I’m sneaker trash. I’m really into skate shoes. I don’t even fucking skate, man. I’m really fucking into them. I don’t just get pretty colors and pretty designs. I get the ones I am willing to wear more than once. I get the ones I can wear with all outfits. I’m also really picky with them though. Like if I see sunflowers on sneakers, I’ll think it’s cute, but I won’t get it. Only because I wouldn’t know what to wear with them. Disclaimer: I like trainers but I don’t really run. Hahaha. And Nike’s are cute. But the only sneakers I like from Nike are the Air Force 1′s and the OG Air Jordan 1′s.

REMINDER: I DON’T FUCKING SKATE. BUT I LOVE DRESSING LIKE A SKATER. DON’T FUCKING LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T WEAR THIS AND THAT BECAUSE YOU DON’T DO THIS AND THAT. FUCK ALL OF THEM. WEAR WHAT YOU THINK LOOKS PRETTY ON YOUR EYES, ALRIGHT?

Local:

Wednesday: I fuck with Wednesday for real. They’re designs are never off. Every release has a meaning. And it’s a shirt you could wear over and over again. They don’t have an actual category. But you’ll clearly see that what do they is art. I fuck with Wednesday HARD.

Gnarly!: Gnarly is one of the most popular streetwear brands in the Philippines. I can’t believe how much it’s grown into. I’m honestly so fucking proud of it. I love how Gnarly knows how to stick with its consistent style but still knows how to be diverse with their releases. I love how it doesn’t cater to only one scene but everyone else could wear it. I fuck with the minimal designs and the loud colors.

Now with colors: I don’t barricade myself with just 5 colors. I always explore patterns and more loud colors. I love being colorful. I can’t deal with just a black and white fit. (Unless, I’m sad) I love exploring new things with fashion.

You don’t necessarily have to copy your fashion icon’s fits all the time. But inspire yourself with what they have. Then make your own thing.
