Chief's Eshra: Draxum was right.

Try to break my muse in five words or less.

Chief can handle a lot. He's been handling a lot for sixteen long years. He's been experimented on, isolated, beaten, kicked, stabbed, slashed, bitten, shot at, hung. He's seen death and torture. He's drawn blood, he's taken lives. He can handle it.

But those three little words...

Those three little traitorous words...

His first reaction was horror. It was pain. It was heartbreak. How--? Why..? After everything-... Just like that? Eshra is so easily able to side with the man who stole Chief's childhood from him, who stripped him of his name and treated him as if he were some lab rat- ...Because a group of humans made a move against yokai-kind?

He understands being upset. He understands being angry. What the EPF is doing.... It's wrong. Chief sees that. He's upset too. He's scared too. He fears for Eshra's life, even after this. He fears for his own. He fears for the innocents.

But he doesn't understand how Eshra could so easily say that man was right. How so easily someone Chief thought he could trust- someone he did trust with his life- could turn on him like that. Could say that the man who ruined his life... Was right.

Those words hurt worse than any weapon that ever drew his blood.

The slider's second reaction was anger. Closing off. How dare he-

"Get out of my sight." His voice is cold. Bitter. Hurt. And at first Chief is low energy, mostly collected, quiet. His usual cold rage. But then his anger bubbled over, a fleck of gold shining in his pupils as his anger shifts from cold to burning. From quiet to loud.

Lips draw back to bare his teeth, brows furrow in anger, red hot rage burning in his eyes and clear in his body language. "You fucking--" Chief starts, visibly shaking, tears in his eyes despite trying his damndest to keep them at bay.

"-Traitor!" The slider barks, voice rough with grief and heartbreak and rage. "I trusted you! --Loved you!" It was true. So painfully true. Chief never thought he'd have a partner, never thought he'd have a family- not after being mutated. Stuck between worlds; too human for the Hidden City and too non-human for the human world. But there was Eshra. Accepted Chief despite being trapped between two worlds. He had loved Eshra. Cared so deeply for him. Would have laid down his life to protect him from harm.

"It's wrong what they're doing. So- so wrong. I'm scared- terrified. War and death are both knocking on our door. But you--" A sharp inhale, Chief's form shakes. He wants to look away, wants to hide, wants to leave, but can't bring himself to. Not at the moment. "To use this-- to use what is going on to justify my kidnapping. My torture..." Not just Chief's; he knew there were others. There had to be others. Chief couldn't have been the only human that Draxum kidnapped and experimented on.

Tears fell freely now, trailing down his cheeks. Chief rarely cried, and yet here he was. "To say that the Baron was right- in what he did to me... To other innocents like me..." The slider's voice grew quieter and quieter, his rage giving way to the initial pain. He shook his head, finally looking away, turning to walk away. Nothing Eshra could say or do, no matter how much he apologized, saying Draxum was right was something that can never be fixed.

They couldn't recover from this.

"We're done." He's quiet again, low energy, anger once again gone like the start. His hurt, his pain, the heartbreak he felt was all apparent. Chief turns and walks. And he doesn't look back.

It's like clockwork, when he does get sleep.

When Chief wakes up after roughly eight hours of sleep, he puts on his civilian gear and heads to the local gym to use their showers. After, he heads to Hueso's to pick up his morning coffee and then heads back home to drink his breakfast and finish waking up. Once he's done with his morning coffee, he puts on his work gear and does one of two things.

If he accepted a job the day before, he goes out to work that job. If he didn't accept any jobs, he heads over to his agent to get the list of possible jobs for that day. He then heads back home and filters through them, hoping for a thievery job even if they pay less. They're easier.

Chief doesn't have a proper comfort item like others have, but he does find comfort and safety in his swords. He always has them on his person, regardless of if he's Chief or if he's Ronin at the moment. Having them on him has saved his life a couple times. If he doesn't have his swords on him, either they were taken from him and he's extremely nervous or he willingly set them aside and isn't nervous.

If Chief lays down his swords in your company, he trusts you with his life.

The slider thrashes in his sleep, breathing labored. His brows were furrowed, lips a tight line, almost as if he were in pain. And if Chief were to wake and be honest, he was in pain. Very much so.

His markings were on fire- literally on fire. Chief could hardly see through the yellow flames that rose from his face stripes. His tormentor, a twisted, dark version of himself, markings ablaze like his own and eyes a blinding white inferno, just smirked. Sadistic. Cruel. Twisted.

"Just give yourself to me," the entity purrs, voice a sickening, twisted version of Chief's own that echoed in the void his mind had trapped him in. "It won't hurt anymore if you do, I promise."

Chief hisses, wild and angered and pained. He hated how his counterpart talked so sweetly like that, cooing promises with a tilt of its head while Chief burned alive. Defiant as always, the slider draws his blades despite the pain he's in, and the shadow sighs. "This little dance again, ̴͈̝̾͠ ̸̪̘͑͗ ̵̯̌͌̽ ̴̜̀̆̕ ̸̼̿͜͜ ̸̫̜̩̃ ̸̛͕̞͈͌̒ ̷̛̼͛̍ ̸̟̅̎̀ ̷̨̙̫̋͂̉ ̶̪̙̝͝ ?"

They both knew how this ended, but Chief still fought. Every time, he still fought. Because he was scared, and that entity knew it.

Chief's tormentor drew his own swords, blades forged from literal fire, the flames starting from its palms and extending outward until it again mirrored its counterpart again. And no sooner did the imposter get into a battle stance did Chief rush forward.

The two clashed, but Chief's tormentor was faster. It got more hits in, the fiery blades leaving burning cuts that glowed instead of bled. The shadow manages to knock one of Chief's swords away- his katana. Perseverance. Chief continues to fight despite the fact, but the entity makes quick work of his ō-wakizashi. Diligence.

Methodological. Symbolic. A message.

Chief will not persevere. He was not diligent. Once again, he will not win this battle.

The entity rushes in, a mirror of how Chief started the fight, and it pins the slider to the hard floor of the void. Panicked, terrified, a wild animal cornered, Chief bites and claws and kicks, hissing and clicking, trying to free himself. A futile last ditch effort to try to come out on top for once.

The entity raises one of its burning blades above its head, tip pointed directly at Chief's plastron, and despite the yellow fire lapping at his skin on his markings and his wounds, the slider's blood runs cold.

A hand raises in defense, and as the shadow drives the blade down, Chief screams.

Chief wakes with a start, heart pounding in his chest and eyes wide in fear, watering in pain. He was shaking, terrified, eyes darting around his surroundings, confused as to why he wasn't in his own little makeshift home in some back alley of the Hidden City. Had he been kidnapped? Was he drugged? His mind whirled with possibilities of what could've happened, why he was here in this unfamiliar place.

Then he remembered.

He'd crashed, fallen asleep in a place he doesn't normally. Not safe. Not safe. That's why that.... thing appeared in his dreams again, isn't it? So aggressively and vividly Chief feels like his stripes are still burning. Still feels searing cuts left from those fiery blades. The burn of a blade made of fire piercing his plastron. It's because he was vulnerable, wasn't it? An easy tar-

A voice pulls Chief out of his frazzled mostly-awake-but-still-exhausted mind and he goes stiff. It sounded worried. Firm, but worried.

"I want to know why you're scared."

--Scared?

Chief is many things, but scared? Scared is not one of them. It is. He is. He's terrified.

"I'm fine." The slider lies easily, his tone sharp and rough, defensive, hiding his fear of his nightmare- of that monster that haunts his unconscious mind- behind his usual exhaustion. "I'm fine," he repeats, softer, attempting to reassure this time. "Don't worry about it."

Currently, in Mainverse Chief's bed is a mountain of blankets. This is shared with Softy and Flame. Bad Futures also have the same beds, even when Dead Man Walking has gone to the past with Jr, but it's only for comfort.

Mainverse would like a normal bed, nothing too fancy, and the Bad Futures prefer their blanket nests.

Big Bro Chief has a normal bed, possibly a king sized bed from when his little brothers were tots so he had room for them all in case they all had nightmares one night. He wouldn't want to change his bed unless it was upgrading to a bigger one, because Raph is fucking huge compared to when he was a tot and probably can't curl up on Chief's bed like he used to after a nightmare, especially if everyone else ended up having nightmares or had some other reason to go to their big brother for comfort.

🪤 What is one thing that could be used to lure your OC into a trap?

Mainverse and Dead Man Walking? Leo. Someone captures Leo and they can use him as bait for a trap, because despite the fight Chief had with Leo in Mainverse, Chief still would feel responsible if Leo was captured because of him. and, even if Chief knew it was a trap, he would still go in and fight to ensure Leo can get out unharmed. Same can be said for any of Leo's brothers too.

Dead Man Walking, it's any of the turtles but specifically Leo and Mikey, along with Jr. After he'd lost Softy and Flame, Dead Man Walking closed off and refused to get attached again. But he still wanted to help the Resistance, so he was a vigilante of sorts, protecting supply runs and patrols.

One day he'd gotten hurt pretty bad and was taken back to the Resistance's base. After a few years, much to Dead Man Walking's displeasure, he'd gotten attached to the Resistance as a new little family. The ones he was closest to was Future Leo and Future Mikey because of similar traumas. Jr, Dead Man Walking sees as a son. Jr is the only one from that old life he still has, so capturing him and using him for bait as a trap? Oh, that's a deathwish.

Big Bro Chief? Any of his brothers, April, or Splinter. And like Mainverse, he'd go in even if he knew it was a trap, but unlike Mainverse he'd rush in. He'd sooner die himself than let harm come to his family.

There's not really any objects that can be used to lure any version Chief into a trap, unless it was like.... A super powerful mystic artifact or something that was a known threat if it ended up in the wrong hands. But what are the odds of something like that happening more than once?

Depending on the universe, the situation, and the context, Chief can either be cold and strong or fiery and emotional.

In mainverse, when he's crossed in some way and angered, he's cold and strong. His tone is cold, calm, with a distinct edge of anger. If he's lied to about a target to get him to accept a job, that warrants death in his book.

In the Bad Futures, Chief is broken. He doesn't show anything to anyone. No anger, no fear, no hope, no joy, no weakness. He's not numb, not at all, but he's very closed off. When he's alone at night, that's when he breaks down.

Big Brother Chief is the opposite of Mainverse and the Bad Futures. He gets loud, his anger is fiery, bold, obvious. He lashes out. But that's only in the most dire of situations, such as when his little brother almost died in the prison dimension.

Other situations, such as doing his job in mainverse or seeing death in the Bad Futures, he's strong against. Numb in the moment. Just another day. He's strong against seeing blood, from himself or another. Broken bones, injuries, physical traumas, none of that phases him. At least, except for those he's close to.

🍑 [PEACH] How do they show their kindness? How kind are they truly?

Chief is kind, if you're close to him. Otherwise, you're met with a very closed off Chief who offers common decency and the basic respect if you're a stranger or just met him, or you're met with a very cold Chief if you're an enemy or a target.

He's reserved with how he shows affection. Spending time quietly with the person he cares about, working quietly on something together, holding the person he cares about, little kisses and words of affection and adoration in one of the various languages he knows. At least, that's how he would treat his partners.

For those he's close to but not romantically involved with, such as Hueso, Chief has casual conversations with them. Catches up with what's going on, sees how they're doing, cracks some jokes from time to time during the conversation, overall is a much softer version of the Chief strangers and acquaintances are met with. Those he's somehow become a mentor for, such as Leo, also are met with casual conversations to catch up, but are also sparred with, taught important lessons, and brought on thievery missions.

Mainverse and both Bad Futures, Chief hasn't done anything worse than murder/assassination thankfully. But ignoring that and everything related, Chief's also a thief. Usually he does reclaim jobs; someone has something that was wrongly taken from the client one way or another, and Chief goes and steals it back. Just like with his primary line of work, Chief's gotta find a way to justify it to himself. Make it morally right in the end.

But he's also more lenient thievery than with assassinations. If a thievery job pays well enough, he'll accept it because objects can be replaced. So, the worst thing Chief could possibly have done excluding his assassination jobs is accepting thievery jobs that don't have a reason other than the client going "I want this thing." No "I want this thing because it used to be my family's and Big Mama won't give it back" or "I want this thing because it was stolen from me and I can't get it back," just "I want this thing because shiny/pretty/expensive/flashy/ect" lmao

7. How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want?

Depending on what it is, Chief is willing to go pretty far.

For example, Mainverse Chief and his mutation. If a retromutagen was said to be in the works somewhere, he would do anything and everything he can to get his hands on it if he still wanted to go back to being human. If the EPF have made something, he'd go after it. He's broken into Big Mama's multiple times, what could the EPF have that she doesn't? They're just humans, after all, and Chief would be one again soon in that scenario.

Also, if one or both of his mates were taken from him, he would readily kill anyone who stands in his path to get them back. They are his.

Bad Futures, they'd do anything to both stop the war and get their mates back. Main Bad Future is dead, but in the time he has left alive and alone if there was a chance to end the war, even if it cost him his life, he'd take it so no one would have to suffer like he did. But if he had the chance to get his mates back instead, he'd also take that.

Dead Man Walking is similar, but considering he survives because he followed his orders and went with Jr to the past, he's gotten the one Main Bad Future wants. The war never fully started, it was stopped before it became unfixable. But... He's still missing his Flame and Softy. His younger self has them, and he watches them from time to time, making sure they don't get hurt while they're out and about because his younger self does not need to experience either of them being hurt, but he never directly interacts with them. It hurts too much.

Big Bro Chief wants to protect his brothers, protect his family, and he will go to the ends of the earth, to extensive lengths to protect them or avenge them if they're harmed. Post Movie, Chief's even turned on Splinter because he believes Splinter's choice to make Leo the leader with no preparation was why he pulled that self-sacrificial stunt. If someone- anyone- endangers or harms Big Bro Chief's little brothers, they're going to have one pissed off slider coming after them.

...Or yelling at them... Disowning them... Trying to attack them as he's held back by his human sister... Telling them that he was never their son, that in the moment he wouldn't have a dead little brother if they didn't appoint said little brother leader with no training, no preparation...

OC Asks: desire, mistake, and secret for Chief!

desire: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?

To stop trying to survive and start trying to live. Right now all he does is fight for survival, Chief wants a family. He had one, at one point, years ago, before he was mutated. But Draxum stole that from him.

In mainverse, Chief has a little family again. He has Flame and Softy, and he's a lot happier than he'd be without them, but he wants more and he can't get more due to his living situation. It wouldn't be safe to have a child with his little family living on the streets and Chief's line of work.

It's a relief to Chief that Flame and Softy know how to hunt and fight, but he still has to bring in money to put guaranteed food on the table. Until Chief can get enough money to afford at least an apartment, he's going to continue his work until he's got enough money. ...Which is hard to come by considering he has three mouths to feed and he, Flame, and Softy can't cook for shit, so Chief can't stock up on food to cook. At least Hueso lets him have a tab that he can pay off.

Sometimes, in mainverse, Chief has made it known that he does desire to have kids, but only after Flame's started the conversation.

In the Big Brother AU, Chief already has what he wants as far as a family goes. He has four brothers, a sister, and a dad, and he fits in just fine. The thing he wants there, however, is Leo to be better prepared to be a leader. Post-Movie, Big Bro Chief is extremely upset with Splinter, to the point where he won't even talk to his adoptive father and has essentially disowned him, because Leo almost died because he was put in the leader position.

Big Bro Chief is convinced that, if he had time to train and prepare Leo for leadership instead of the role just being thrust upon his little brother, things would've ended differently.

Bad Futures Main and Dead Man Walking both want their Flame and Softy back. Both lost their little family the same way; fatal wounds leading to Krang infection, which leads to a vicious attack and Chief having to end his mates by his own blades. The Peepaw Chiefs have some issues lmao

mistake: What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led to them making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on?

Oof. Man, there's two for mainverse

The first one is pre-mutation. He took one of his shortcuts to get home and that led him to cross paths with Draxum. Chief always thinks that if he'd gone a different path, he'd still be with his parents and he'd still be human. He's moved on enough to function, but he still has those moments where he just... Stares at his hands. Contemplates his life currently and what could have been. Has some body image issues due to his mutation. It's hard for him sometimes.

The second is not doing enough research on a job he accepted. Someone had tricked him, forged documents to get him to accept a job. They claimed to be from another town, gave a vague description enough to where Chief wasn't suspicious about the target, and did everything they could to pull a fast one on Chief. And they succeeded.

Chief only found out that the target was Donnie when Leo tried to stop Chief AND Chief saw the target. That.... Led to a big fight later on between Chief and Leo. Chief hasn't forgiven himself for this mistake, and he probably never will.

Big Bro Chief doesn't have a mistake he made himself, but he thinks Splinter made a massive mistake appointing Leo leader without training. Fixing a mistake that isn't yours can be hard, but so long as he can convince his little brother to listen, Chief will try his best to fix it and prepare Leo for properly leading. He's the eldest out of this universe's Hamato brothers, so the responsibility of protecting his little brothers falls on his shoulders regardless of who's leading the team.

In the Bad Futures, both Peepaw Chiefs think that if they could've just... Done more, been quicker, been stronger, been more alert and aware, their Flame and Softy wouldn't have been fatally wounded or Krangified and they wouldn't have had to kill their mates. They'll never be able to fix these mistakes, never be able to move on, and honestly they still have nightmares about it.

secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

That he was once human.

In any of Chief's universes where he's with Flame, if she finds out he was once human that would ruin her trust in him.

He also just wants to forget he was once human. That part of his life is 16 years ago, it's gone, he can never bring it back, he can never relive it, he can never change it. Chief's better off doing his best to disconnect himself from his past as a human.

If someone calls him a yokai or a kappa, he's not correcting them. If someone thinks he's mutated from a normal turtle, he's not correcting them. He prefers those origin stories. His human life is gone, stolen by Draxum.

When Stark was still around, Flame used to love to travel. She'd go with him to various different parties when he asked if she wanted to go, and it was helpful for her to learn how to operate in the human world. She had fun, so long as Stark was there.

Post-Endgame, though... Flame doesn't like to go to places unless she has to. Nine months after the war, Flame had found Recovery had her original collar. She'd made an algorithm to find Infinity Stone level power signatures because she doesn't know how the stones work exactly, so she's pulling a Tony Stark and making her own fear-driven mistake like he did with Ultron. Whenever she finds an alarming power signature, she goes and investigates that universe.

A year and a half after the war, Flame travels only to help Director Fury, which leads her to getting in the crossfire between Fury and the Skrulls, ending up with her having an Arc Reactor implant just like Stark had years ago.

Flame has killed many before, either because she's had to or because she was... Not in the right headspace at the time. The Avengers and anyone connected doesn't know about the darker time.

As for breaking someone's heart or trust; during the events of Civil War, Flame was on neither Team Iron Man nor Team Cap. She was in the middle, fighting both sides, trying to put a stop to the infighting because she knew there were other ways to go about this and she hates infighting.

At least until it's found out that Bucky assassinated Stark's parents. Then she sided against Steve and Bucky. Flame's been bitter with Steve ever since, but ESPECIALLY post-Endgame where he didn't even say goodbye to her.

This all hurt both Flame and the people she was close to. If she could have a do-over, she'd find a way to do things differently. Maybe it would've kept the Avengers together so they could've won the first fight against Thanos.

Both pre and post endgame, Flame's a planner for major choices, especially in battles. Post-Endgame especially does a lot of planning even when panic building, at least until she gets a bit of a Stark streak and says "fuck it" and just does something she wants to do because she can for one reason or another.

She's tired, she's been through a lot, she's allowed to have a little fun, and so she does have a little fun from time to time when she feels like it. She could be sitting in her workshop and suddenly go "I wanna do this thing" and she gets up and goes and does the thing.
