After quickly besting the golems at bean bag toss your team quickly went back on the rugged trail. The three of you needed a moment to fully process what had just transpired before Tatsuya properly pipes up. "Well, that was definitely an experience." "Yer tellin' me..." Ibaraki sighed. He let out a bit of a yawn and a stretch. "How much longer til we get outta here?" "We can't leave just yet. We still have to find Yui and that lion therian..." You asked if Tatsuya meant Oz. "Was that his name? I don't think I've caught it until now." Ibaraki groaned. "Right, those friends ya went on about. Ya know, how the heck does one human cause a ravine like this to appear?" You pondered the possibility of her Sacred Artifact being able to create terrain perhaps? "No." Tatsuya said firmly. "Yui's artifact doesn't work like that." "Huh? Then what the heck is it suppose to do?" Tatsuya remained silent.  "Oi oi, don't get all mute on me now. Ya want me to be more open ya gotta open up too." This seemingly took Tatsuya off guard as he looked to you for your opinion. You agreed with Ibaraki that he should speak up if he knows anything useful. For a moment Tatsuya seemed to hesitate. "She... doesn't like it when I talk about it." "She? Ya girlfriend?" "Yui, I mean." Tatsuya sighed. "She doesn't like when I mention it. But I can tell you that it doesn't have the power to change terrain. Whatever did this has to be something else." You commented on the fact he seemed sure of it, but decided to quickly discuss something else. You asked Tatsuya about how long he knew the flower field was around for. "Oh, that. I can't tell you about it exactly, but I remember finding this place on complete accident." "And you didn't tell someone?" Ibaraki was shocked. "It seemed harmless at the time. I only found it the other day, too. Not a lot of time to report it when everyone else's priorities were with getting the field day ready..." You ask him if he's been here in any other instances. He remained silent and for the first time this conversation he turned away from both of you before answering. "...No." It didn't take you much thought to realize he was lying, but you didn't want to press him further for the time being because an opening in the path revealed some interesting terrain. While you went further ahead to peer over the cliffside Ibaraki pulls back a bit with Tatsuya. "Hey, listen..." Ibaraki whispered. "Don't get all worked up or nothin', but ya don't seem all that hyped when talkin' about this field day." "...Of course I'm excited..." Tatsuya whispered back, but not being able to meet Ibaraki's eyes. "It's the one time a year Yoyogi gets to shine. Why wouldn't I...?" "Do they bench ya a lot?" Tatsuya didn't have an answer for that question. "Look I play on a team with my bro, so I getcha. It can be frustratin' not havin' a proper spot on a team." "...I don't play a sport like the others." Tatsuya looked at Ibaraki with a slight smile. "But, it's okay. I always get to watch and they sometimes ask me to help." Ibaraki let out a 'hmm' before continuing. "Alright, if ya say so. I ain't the strongest player myself so I get it, but ya don't gotta act like it doesn't bug ya." "Really, I'm fine. Thanks though." Tatsuya said before rushing to catch up with you. Ibaraki didn't say anything and just noticed that Tatsuya's smile didn't really seem all that honest. Before you could start to worry Ibaraki catches up. While the two hung back you saw a vast expanse of green trees over the mountain range, as though you were stepping from one entire terrain to another. Were these... here before? "I have no idea." Tatsuya said. "Wha... What the hell?" Ibaraki muttered.

Somewhere within that forest Yui trudges through the forest blindly. She doesn't know what happened once the field was torn apart, and she wasn't near anyone who wandered in. She spent an indefinite amount of time just wandering the woods aimlessly just hoping to find Tatsuya. 'I hope he's okay...' She then thought about Oz and hoped he was at least still alright. You though... she was just hoping you weren't with Tatsuya. 'How did they even end up with Tatsuya...?' Yui clutched the jacket from her friend nervously in her hands. Her mind began to wander back to what she saw the other day. One thing that she keeps hidden from others and writes off as intuition a lot of the time is her power of divination- in short Yui can see into the future. By using her own art as the conduit of means to foretell what's to come in her unique book she can interpret what her Artifact is trying to show her. Very few people know of this ability and in fact it was her dorm manager who informed her to keep it a secret. A lot of her resentment wasn't towards you. In fact most of her pushback was actually towards what she couldn't make out in her vision. While wandering she had finally stumbled across what appeared to be an opening in the forest with a stream rushing along. While she took in the near serene view she heard someone stomping toward her. "Who's there?" "Ah so I'm not alone after all." Said the voice in a very calm manner matching most of the scene around them. This individual had short blond hair and a very muscular frame stumbled into view. Yui reacted with shock at first, but after taking a moment to process it she calmed herself. "Please don't be afraid. I was just going to ask for directions to Yoyogi Academy..."

After scaling down the mountain while helping the two boys you quickly discover that this forest was pretty dense and hardly reminiscent of the mountains you were scaling just moments ago. The sunlight was mostly obscured and could only be filtered through gaps in the leaves. You told your teammates to watch their step and then asked aloud what kind of place was this collision supposed to be anyhow? "It's a multitude of biomes- that much I can say for sure." Tatsuya stated. "It's likely that this one in particular isn't even tied to one world." You thought about it for a second before mentioning how Zo could smell poppy flowers from the meadow earlier. "Poppy flowers?" They were a plant he didn't seem to care for. "Hmm..." "So just like Mount Oe?" Ibaraki asked desperately trying to follow along the two's conversation. He knew he wasn't the smartest around so a lot of the conversation was flying over his head. "That's our best bet." Tatsuya said. Ibaraki gave himself a mental pat on the back. Something had been bothering you for a while now and you told Tatsuya it was time to come clean. He had said earlier that things were different than the last time he was here as you thought back to his comments on the bugs. "Oh. Well I guess it's not much of a secret I've been here a handful of times- though back when it was still just a flower field. But I couldn't tell you much about it... it made for a nice little hideaway..." "What... what were ya hidin' from?" Ibaraki asked. Tatsuya didn't have a response to a question like that so he just remained silent. Rather it was more so because he was reluctant to answer. Suddenly a rustling from the bushes and you motioned for Tatsuya to get behind you. You and Ibaraki braced for a battle until you were tackled by a running lion. "Ah!" Oz yelped out as he collapsed on top of you. The timid lion had an impressive amount of strength because he knocked you off your feet and your faces were just a mere few inches away from each other. "Ow..." He groaned as he blinked the stars from his vision. The lion realized what had happened and immediately went to apologizing. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-" You told Oz to calm down and asked him what the problem was while attempting to get him to stand up and off you. "I-It's-" Before he could properly answer you felt something bind your and Oz's legs together. What the-? "Wait, what's-" Tatsuya tried to ask but before he could it suddenly yanked you and Oz deeper into the forest. You and both Oz scream in unison as your dragged through various brush in a sudden moment with Tatsuya and Ibaraki in the best pursuit they could give.

Changes: Chapter 4
Ch. 4 is done. I was writing while waiting for the mid-season premier and am trying to get this thing written before my PhD life gets hectic again. As always, AO3 will have the most recent updates in terms of minor edits.
Title: Changes Ship: Sonny x Reader (OC female character)
Ch. 1 | Ch. 2 | Ch. 3 | AO3 | Chapter List |
Chapter 4: His Heart’s In the Right Place - You witness how Sonny interacts with victims and children and you come to understand why he does what he does.
Notes: There's some sensitive issues mentioned in this chapter, but nothing close to what they go into on the show.
Time continues to pass at SVU and, not only do you notice Carisi's dedication, but he is also quite compassionate. He often puts up a tough-guy front but underneath all that you suspect is someone a lot softer. Your first clue should have been that protective hand on your back as he walked you home a couple weeks ago. But over and over again, he lets that side of himself shine through, especially when he deals with victims. He speaks to them in a considerate voice, always making sure that they feel safe and that they can trust him. He'll ask questions, probing for information but never in a way that comes across like he's pressuring them. You find it incredible. It's as if he is the perfect match for this job.
One afternoon in particular will always stay with you.
You look up from your work, spotting a woman cautiously make her way into the squad room. She has a little boy in tow. At first glance, nothing strikes you as unordinary but then you notice her appearance. Her makeup is smudged around her eyes, her reddish-brown hair is messy and some of her clothing is ripped at the seams. She’s here for a reason, but before you can speak up to notify anyone, Sonny is already by her side. You can’t make out what he’s saying to her, although you see her nodding and Sonny wrapping his suit jacket around her shoulders. He leads her to his desk where she takes a seat. He kneels in front of her as a sign that she can trust him, while her son fiddles with something shyly by her side.
You then see Benson come over and Sonny give her a knowing look. The woman is holding back tears as she apologetically states that she would have come in sooner, but she had to pick her son up from daycare. Both Benson and Carisi reassure her that it’s alright. Benson however, tells the woman that they need to speak privately and that it’s best that her son stays out in the squad room. The woman nods, reassures her son that she’ll be right back and then the sergeant leads her into the statement room.
The boy, probably no older than four, starts to cry as his mom walks away. You’re fixated on the situation as Sonny gently says: “Hey champ. It’s ok. Your mom has to talk to my friend for a while but don’t worry, she’s a nice lady. And that means I get to talk to you!” Sonny playfully points a finger at the boy. “My name is Sonny. What’s yours?” The boy looks away shyly, clutching a toy car tightly in his tiny hand. Carisi takes a quick look at the child’s backpack beside him, finding his name printed on it. “Is your name Connor?” he asks and the boy then looks up, giving a small nod. “That’s a cool name!” Sonny remarks enthusiastically before drawing his attention to the toy. “So, Connor, do you like cool cars? ‘Cause I do. Especially the ones that go real fast! Zooom!” Sonny runs his hand in front of Connor in a zig-zag pattern, animating a car speeding by. Finally, the little boy giggles and presents his toy car to Sonny. “Come on then, buddy. Let’s go sit down and play cars.”
Sonny stands up and takes the boy by the hand, leading him through the squad room towards the break area. Your heart goes out to the little boy as you watch the scene. From your desk you can just barely see Carisi sitting with Connor. Sonny certainly has a kind heart. Not everyone could be so calming and gentle towards children. It’s truly nice to witness and, every so often, you are able make out the vroom sounds the two make as they drive toy cars over the tabletop.
Eventually your day is over. The mother and boy have been taken care of and sent home, while their case remains open on the bulletin board. You make your way to the lockers and find Carisi leaning against the wall checking his phone. He immediately pockets it when he sees you arrive. “Hey,” he says, his voice tired.
“Hey,” you smile as you approach your locker for your belongings. Your pulse picks up a beat as you decide to acknowledge him for earlier. “You were really great today…with that boy who came in.”
“Thanks,” he responds. Sonny’s ears turn a slightly darker shade of pink. “I have a niece. Well, she’s 15 now but I used to have lots of practice being Uncle Sonny,” he fumbles.
“Well, it shows,” you say encouragingly and Sonny blushes again. Then you think about Connor and the state of his mother: “That little boy is going to have to be very strong for his momma for the next little while.”
“Yeah, he is,” agrees Sonny solemnly. “Y’know, it’s always so sad. Whether the kid is the victim or just collateral, they always end up sufferin’ the most. Those two,” he nods in the direction of the door, “their lives are changed forever. His mom is changed forever and all of that is inevitably gonna take a toll on him, no matter how hard she tries to hide it.”
You consider this for a moment. All the cases you’ve sifted through thus far and all the ones that have come through the squad room in your short time here; you only really see the immediate damage. The actual crime. Except you’ve never really considered the “after”; how these victims’ lives and the lives of their families are permanently altered. Suddenly you want to take nothing for granted.
Sonny must recognise the affliction in your features because he softly adds, “that’s why I wanna be a lawyer, you know. I wanna do everything in my power to make sure that these vics get justice. Being a cop is rewarding when you catch the bad guy and all, but it’s so frustratin’ when all your hard work gets squashed in court.”
You look up at Sonny with a furrowed brow. He’s right. None of it really ends when they slap cuffs on the perp. Not for the victims and not in terms of the justice system. Your features soften. “You’ll make a great lawyer, Sonny,” you reassure him. “You know what it’s like to be on the investigation-side of things, but you also have the compassion. There’s not enough of that in the world today.” It’s the best compliment you can think of because it’s true, and you want nothing more than for Sonny to know that you believe in him.
“Thanks, that means a lot,” he says your name as the corner of his lips turn up to form a genuine smile.
You both turn back to your lockers but you feel like you truly understand Sonny now. You know what drives him to not only be a great detective, but also to overwork himself at night school. His heart really is in the right place.

Get To Know The Character: Renaux Mercier
► Name ➔ “Renaux Mercier, charmed~.” ► Are you single ➔ “I am not single, but I’m also not taken by just one....?”  ► Are you happy ➔ “Am I alive? Then yea, I’m happy.” ► Are you angry? ➔ “... When an’ where it’s warranted. It’s necessary at times.”  ► Are your parents still married ➔ “I’m not quite sure my parents ever officially sat before a priestess, but they were as closely bound as they aught to be before the Twelve. Linked by the same shackles durin’ sentencin’ is like tradin’ vows over rings, right?”
EIGHT FACTS
► Birth Place ➔ “The Twelveswood.” That was lovely and vague.  ► Hair Color ➔ “Black, I dye the green within it. Well, someone else does, I just pay them to.”  ► Eye Color ➔ “Why don’t you come see? ... Green, it’s green.” ► Birthday ➔ Renaux looks uncomfortable and shakes his head, giving only silence.  ► Mood ➔ “Chipper, cheery, mischievous, playful, pert. I’ve got a mouthful of others if you want me to keep listin’ ‘em~.” ► Gender ➔ "Last I checked I was male, but you’re welcome to confirm at your leisure.” ► Summer or winter ➔ "Winter. The summer is lovely for the weather but there’s... It’s just lovely when it’s cooler, cuddle weather, y’know?”  ► Morning or afternoon ➔ “Mornin’, whatever counts for mornin’ that day. Realizin’ I’ve woken up, which means I’ve inevitably slept, an’ that I’ve got a new day to face. That’s livin’, yea?”
EIGHT THINGS ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE
► Are you in love ➔ The duskwight flinches subtly but he nods.  ► Do you believe in love at first sight ➔ A tense crease between his eyebrows. “I believe there can be special things; moments, looks, emotions... That can be traded in that first glance that can be then used as buildin’ materials for-... for it. But to really truly have the feelin’ at first? No, impossible. It... It takes work.”  ► Who ended your last relationship ➔ “Dalamud. Next?” ► Have you ever broken someone’s heart ➔ “Unfortunately, doesn’t everyone?”  ► Are you afraid of commitments ➔ Renaux bristles, glancing away. “No.” He’s lying. ► Have you hugged someone within the last week? ➔ “I have both hugged an’ hugged someone-s in the last week, yes.”  ► Have you ever had a secret admirer ➔ "That I have both found out about an’ inevitably never found out about, yes.”  ► Have you ever broken your own heart? ➔ Renaux looks increasingly uncomfortable and doesn’t answer this one, either. Every day. Every time someone uses the L word. Every time someone reaches out for him and he withdraws. Yes.
FIVE CHOICES
► Love or lust ➔ “Both, preferably the latter, thanks.” That gods damned word...  ► Cats or Dogs ➔ "W-what, both. Both?? Obviously both! Don’t be a monster an’ choose one, if both need you, get more space an’ get both!” ► A few best friends or many regular friends ➔ "Both, there’s... A balance. Those you can be yourself with, in comfort, an’ those you can hide within. Many regular friends ask much less personal questions, however...”  ► Wild night out or romantic night in ➔ ”This is the worst fuckin’-- Both. You suit the needs of the night with the partner, or group! Those needs could vary by the night! Don’t be obtuse an’ only pick one.”  ► Day or night ➔ “Nights. S’... Quiet. There’s more time to yourself, an’ let’s be real, the most interestin’ things happen at night when there’s less eyes~.”
FOUR HAVE YOU EVERS
► Been caught sneaking out ➔ “By a parent? By a partner? By a friend? Yes, to all.”  ► Fallen down/up the stairs ➔ “Well unless you’ve got the miraculous grace of a fuckin’ god, who the shite hasn’t?” ► Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? ➔ Renaux shifts and draws his hands tightly together, fingers squeezing. “... Yes.”  ► Wanted to disappear ➔ “I just leave when that feelin’ happens. It’s like disappearin’, except it’s not permanent for anyone but yourself. You get to choose when you no longer wanna be gone.”
FOUR PREFERENCES
► Smile or eyes ➔ "The eyes. Watch ‘em, not the smile. Smiles lie easier than eyes do.” ► Shorter or Taller ➔ “Ooof, don’t make me choose. Both? I-I’ll go with both. Twelve, don’t let Certo find out...” ► Intelligence or Attraction ➔ "Attraction. Intelligence is good an’ all but the intelligent folk tend to want to follow code rather than instinct. Attraction is an instinct. Trust it, if only for a moment.” ► Hook-up or Relationship ➔ Renaux shakes his head. “I can’t answer that, it varies by the day. Some days it’s comfortin’ to wake up to a relationship, whether partner or close friend, but... Other days it’s just easier to wake up with a hook-up. Again, many less questions an’ expectations.”
FAMILY
► Do you and your family get along ➔ "Most of us, the Matron’s kids. I recently... Reconnected with my estranged blood-bonded brother. It’s a work in progress.” ► Would you say you have a “messed up life” ➔ "Not any more messed up than anyone else’s. I handle my shit.” Poorly. ► Have you ever ran away from home ➔ "Few dozen times if the home wasn’t good enough. ... Suppose too, even when it was.”  ► Have you ever gotten kicked out ➔  “Intentionally an’ unintentionally, yea. I was a shithead kid who really didn’t want to be adopted.”
FRIENDS
► Do you secretly hate one of your friends ➔ “If I secretly hate a friend, they aren’t a fuckin’ friend, are they? I’ve got friends with frustratin’ habits, sure, but fuck’s sake...”  ► Do you consider all of your friends good friends ➔ “No. Some are closer than others, sure, but... I try not to organize my friends too hard. Some are just more persistent, yea?”  ► Who is your best friend ➔ Renaux balks. His mouth works a moment before he leans back and pinches his chin with a frown. “... I have no fuckin’ idea. Certo I suppose would be the easiest to slot here, but does he really count in this category...? I feel like that’s cheatin’.”  ► Who knows everything about you ➔ Renaux shifts and stands to leave. "... No one. Let’s keep it that way.”

Napule Nights - trentasei
Jade meets Penny and David, as promised. Thanks to Elana for always figuring difficult stuff like this out with me x

In all of the underground space of the headquarters, the conference room was the lightest one Jade had seen yet, still looking around and scanning her surroundings, but she was barely picking up on anything, her initial determination to not lose track of her sense of detail gone up in smoke as soon as Alexander had decided to seat her at the opposite end of the table, staring straight at him, yet there were several chairs and people in between, and in protest, she'd leaned back in her chair, crossed her arms in a way that drew attention to nothing but her chest, the lace top of her silvery pink dress not covering any more than actual lingerie would have, lace trailing down into a satin skirt, additional lace on the sides drawing attention to the skin of her thighs.
She watched him at the other end of the table, balancing his cigarette between his fingers and taking the occasional drag, the smoke veiling his gorgeous features for no longer than a second each time it left his lips, yet she couldn't help herself from staring, forever drawn to stare due to the complexity of his face, the simplest movements exciting, the way he scrunched his nose up in disgust ever so slightly, exposing the distaste for something someone else at the table said. She could tell he was purposely not looking at her, his dark eyes resting for longer than in mere passing on everyone but her, but he had her full attention, not a single movement unnoticed by her, her fingers aching to touch and adjust his hair that he'd slicked back in a rush earlier, and it was threatening to fall out of form now.
On the car ride to the headquarters, she'd been completely unable to keep her hands off him, the constant ache she had for him only intensified after they'd almost been late because he hadn't been able to deny her when having been woken up with her sat on top of him, teasing him, and only having waited for him to wake up to lower herself down on him, but as soon as he'd been aware, as soon as the sleep had lifted from his mind, he'd flipped them, refusing even that early to let her dominate him, and had instead fucked her into the mattress in return, hard and fast and in a way that left her insatiable, her frustration only increased when he'd cautiously seated her at the other end of the table, opposite him and far away, his words too weak to be a threat. “I can't 'ave yeh distractin' meh, yeh're too fookin' frustratin'. If yeh wanna beh in this meetin' yeh 'ave teh be'ave.”
The hint of a challenge that she knew he was well aware of and had strategically used against her was the only thing that kept her the way she was, that kept her from actually making an effort to distract him, and he was as much of a distraction himself, so much so that despite having insisted on being part of the meeting, despite her best efforts, Jade could barely focus now.
Half of his arms were exposed, the sleeves of his peach coloured shirt rolled up and contrasting his tanned skin, the jacket to his matte black suit hung over the back of his chair. The mark she had left on his throat was still visible, beautiful and making sure everyone knew she'd been there. She was desperate to sink her teeth into his skin again, make him moan quietly the way he hadn't been able to suppress, toy with his chain and make his jaw tense the way it did now as he listened calmly to one of the suggestions a man to her left made.
Alexander took another drag of his cigarette before crushing it in the ashtray before him, his glance passing Jade as he looked around and his heart jumped when he saw that she was still looking at him, seemingly not intending to break her stare any time soon.
When his eyes met hers, even if it was just for a moment, the intensity made her shiver, excited her and she pressed her lips together, biting the inside of her cheek as she felt a dull throbbing ache between her legs as soon as she'd allowed her mind to wander, pictured him rising to his feet and making her crawl towards him, grabbing her by the throat and forcing her down into position on the table, everyone else watching or leaving, she didn't care, she just needed him, felt her underwear dampening from the sheer thought of feeling him inside her again, her eyes fluttering shut for no longer than a second, but of course that he'd seen, the smug satisfaction on his face when he licked his lips leaving her determined to concentrate the lust she had for him to the inside for now.
Each time he spoke, his deep drawl either surging through the silence or cutting off someone else, the authority in his low voice had her reeling, wishing he was close to her, wishing he was taunting her, telling her she was his, telling her he loved her.
“Jade” he hummed, the way he said her name snapping her out of it as much as it made her wish she was making him moan it. “Wha' do yeh fink?”
She swallowed hard, her jaw tensing and she sat straight in her seat, lifting her chin. Bastard.
“About what?” She asked reluctantly, ultimately more frustrated with herself than him because him and her both knew that she could help if she actually paid attention, and she couldn't help but be annoyed that she was wasting this chance. She wanted to spite him as much as she did the men around the table regarding her sceptically, as if she was somewhat inferior, their gazes alternating between her face and the bruises around her neck, most failing to stop there.
Alexander licked his lips, the corner of his mouth twitching with amusement as he couldn't help but feel pleased with himself for having caught her, he loved watching her beg him to fuck her as much as he liked her to beg him to help with the business, and he knew that it would have been wrong to tell her based on her wandering mind that she shouldn't have been in the meeting, but the simple question was worth the tease now, despite the matter being more than serious, and once he'd had his fun with the expression on her face, he spoke again. “I've sent out sum of our best men teh track down Mancini. I 'ave not yet decided specificleh wha' teh do wif 'im.”
She swallowed, silently grateful that he hadn't intended to completely humiliate her in front of everyone. “Is it wise at all to track him down?” She questioned.
He raised his eyebrows, her question catching him by surprise. “Jade” he said. “He 'urt yeh. Look wha' 'e fookin' did teh yeh.” His gaze was insistent, and she knew what he was trying to tell her, he should have seen it coming.
“But I'm okay” she said, the look in her own eyes softening and she wished she could touch him, squeeze his hand, stroke his hair or touch his shoulder to soothe him. “Don't play into Alfonso's hands that way, please. Not for me.”
He let his eyes wander, looking at the men that had advised him as well as his father well before. “Gentlemen?”
“If Mancini had touched my bird that way, I'd be out there searching along with the others” one of the men to his right stated.
Jade tensed. “They only did this to get a rise out of him” she said, shaking her head, now it was her looking around hopefully around the table, searching for someone that had common sense. “In a time like this, offense is the wrong move.”
“I don't know how much your bird knows, Turner, but with the state of the business, she might have a point” another man said, raising is eyebrow at his superior.
Turner's jaw locked, a hard swallow followed that made his throat strain underneath the mark, then he rose to his feet. “Weh'll take a vote tomorrow” he said, adjusting his rings as he looked around at the other men. “Dismissed.”
Jade rose from her seat the moment the first man opened the door, crossing the room with few quick steps and adjusting her white fur coat, her heels clicking on the ground and her body relaxed visibly when he turned to her and gave her a look of disbelief. “Alexander, don't do this” she said, pressing her lips together as she drew his jacket from his seat and held it out for him.
“Wha' were yeh finkin'?” He asked.
She pursed her lips, walking around him to adjust his collar over the jacket. “You asked my opinion, baby” she said, smiling as she reached to brush his hair back, feeling him relax right into her touch, breathing out slowly, but his eyes widened again when he looked at somebody over her shoulder, yet with a slight tug on his hair she had his attention again. “What?”
“I swear if one of them fookin' looks at yeh again...”
“Hey, hey” she said, shaking her head. “I wanted to be here, Alexander. Let them look.”
His eyes grew wider. “Let them-... Jade, I...” He sighed, once again soothed by the way she ran her fingers through his hair.
“I'm all yours” she said, pressing herself close to him, purring with satisfaction when his hands came down on her hips. “And I'm just trying to help.”
“Well, yeh didn't fookin' be'ave, did yeh? Yeh still work for meh.”
A smile spread across her lips now and she tilted her head slightly. “Mmm, what are you going to do, baby? Fire me?” A deep sense of satisfaction spread inside her when she saw the corner of his mouth twitch and he rolled his eyes.
She hummed, moving her hand slowly up his chest and underneath his shirt, scratching lightly at his shoulder, the light in his eyes drawing her in hopelessly and she leaned in, yet jumped instantly when she heard the door click, the groan of annoyance vibrating in Alexander's throat only making her want him more.
“Si?” He asked, raising his eyebrows expectantly at Helders.
“I'm sorreh, boss, yehr father wants teh see yeh.”
Alex tensed, his jaw clenching and with a sudden shift, his face was expressionless. “Then please take Jade 'ome” he sighed, stepping back and adjusting his jacket.
“Actualleh” Helders said. “'e's requested teh see yeh bof.”
Jade's eyes widened and she turned to look between the two, Helders' face now expectant, Turner's with shock written all over it. “When?” He asked, swallowing hard.
“Reyht now, boss” Helders stated. “Yehr parents are 'avin' lunch in the citeh and they want yeh teh join them. They're waitin'.”
Jade was speechless for a moment, her heart racing with the sudden fear that she'd messed up because they'd asked for her to come along specifically. She looked worriedly at Alexander, tense and desperate to hear his decision, unsure what she would have preferred, but there was not a single moment of contemplation, without another word, his hand came down on the small of her back and before she knew, they were following Helders out of the office and down the corridor towards the doors.
“A-Alexander...” she said. “Maybe I should change?”
“There's no time” he stated, his face cold and he nodded for her to get into the car as Helders opened the door for her, Cook on the other side opening it for him.
“I'll be two seconds...” she said hesitantly, desperate to catch his eyes with hers as they sat beside each other in the backseat. “You know I won't take long.”
Her heart stopped when his eyes finally snapped up. “Jade, there's no time. Weh can't let them wait.”
She swallowed hard, diverting her gaze and adjusting her coat. It wasn't like she had never been judged for the way she looked before, harassed and mistreated, and she knew that nothing they could say, not even Alex's father could even scratch the surface of her confidence. But what would undoubtedly bother her was their judgment of her transferring to Alexander, because as sure as she was that he stood by her and his decision for her, it would build up his own stress and would set back any progress he'd made with the business during the past few days, and she hated the thought of it, hated to be the reason of causing him unnecessary difficulty, not that she wasn't worth it, not that she didn't enjoy him sticking up for her, but he already had enough to deal with as it was, she'd already added enough, and she was determined to for his sake behave in a way that would solely benefit him.
She stayed silent for the rest of drive, hated the way the situation brought her back to a tension between them she had almost forgotten about now, and she breathed out shakily with relief when she felt his hand searching for hers between them on the seat, his long fingers intertwined with hers instantly as he gave a light squeeze, his jaw tense as she finally looked up at him, her mouth opening, but before she could speak, the car came to a stop, Helders and Cook stepping out and opening the doors for them.
The moment Jade set her second heel down on the pavement, Turner was by her side, linking his arm with hers and giving a nod to the two security guards in front of a restaurant Jade only knew because a very decadent client had once taken her there to impress a few business associates, and she gathered the white fur across her chest and her bare shoulders, knowing that even though she looked and felt better because of her choice of clothing, she could have chosen something just as sexy that would have been more appropriate, although she couldn't help the satisfied smile that spread across her lips when a few heads turned as they entered, as interested in her as they were in the man whose arm she was now attached to, and she hummed when he drew her closer to his side, the gesture enough to fuel her confidence and strengthen her intentions.
“Jade?”
She prepared herself for an order, instructions to act a certain way, she'd gotten used to it by now, it was always the way whenever entering a room, men whispering to her, hushed demands to follow before reaching the table. But not Alexander.
“Yeh look fookin' incredible, il mio amore.”
She bit down harshly on her lip, her whole body shuddering and she squeezed his arm, there was no time to respond, let alone sink down on her knees and worship that incredible man the way he deserved, but she certainly wasn't going to forget the look in his eyes, forced herself to focus as they came to a stop.
“Figlio.”
“Padre.”
Neither his father stood as Alexander pulled a chair back for Jade, nor did he even acknowledge her at first and she held her breath, sitting down hesitantly, then turned her head as he walked around to greet his mother, leaned down to kiss her cheek and she rubbed his back gently. “Mamma.”
“Ciao, cucciolotto.” His mother smiled, shifting in her seat and waiting for her son to sit down before her eyes finally made it to Jade who was glad for the distraction, the intensity of the older man's stare an instant intimidation she hadn't expected, and while she'd always respected his name, was well-aware of where he had taken his family name, she had never been this overwhelmed, reputation and face combined sending shivers down her spine. “Jade, si?”
Jade nodded slowly, taking a deep breath before she drew her coat from her arms and hung it over the back of the chair, soothed only by the way Alexander's hand came down on her knee, a gentle squeeze following. “Si” she said, swallowing as she could feel two unfamiliar pairs of eyes on her, relieved when Alexander cut in.
“Why did yeh need teh see us bof?” He asked.
His father's face remained unchanged and his eyes searched behind them, then snapped at the waiter, holding up two fingers before he lowered his hand and looked back at his son. “Yeh are aware that you are not yet the owner of me business, aren't you, Alexander?”
Jade felt oddly out of place, despite the ease of which she was able to win anybody over, she was well-aware that this was not the moment to make use of that skill, instead she focused on Alexander, the way he swallowed, visibly distressed.
“I am aware” he said slowly, licking his lips.
“And are yeh aware that this means I am still watching yehr evreh move, figlio?”
Alexander pursed his lips. “If this about the men I sent out teh find Mancini...”
“It is, yeh alreadeh risked so much by sending out more men than yeh were allowed to find Alfonso's other base, and now yeh're doing exactly what he wanted teh achieve in the first place?”
The way his father tensed had him leaning back slowly, his body tensing with a matchable anger and sense of frustration, he had nothing to say for himself, no way to justify himself. “I might call it off” he said quietly.
“Oh, grazie a Dio” the older man muttered, but there was a mocking tone behind his voice that Jade recognised only too well. “I thought yeh'd lost all sense because of this girl.”
Alex's jaw tensed, his lips pressed together for a moment to compose himself before he was able to give a collected response. “It were actualleh Jade's idea.”
“It's also because of her that yeh risked so much in the first place, bello” his mother said, her voice much softer, but her words only made it harder for Jade to stay quiet, yet she'd vowed to behave, to go along with whatever Alexander wanted to do, though admittedly, it was getting increasingly harder. “And now yeh've moved her into yehr place...” she continued. “Yeh've not done that since...”
“Adriana.” His father's voice was firm, the look on his face more frightening than anything Alex himself could have been capable of.
Alexander bit his lip, glaring back at his father. “And yeh think I dun't kno' tha'?” He snapped. His fingers were shaking, he'd been meaning to keep Jade from being a part of a conversation like this, afraid all along that it would only drive her away and yet there she was, sat by his side and allowing them to talk about her as if she wasn't even there, her fingers cupping his on her knee, and he was only momentarily distracted as the waiter placed a glass of martini in front of them each and he took it thankfully, his fingers closing around the cold glass and he down it all in one, licking his lips. “Scusa.”
His father gave a respectful nod before his face turned cold again. “This is not just about her though, Alexander” he stated, his eyes dark as he looked at his son. “I thought I could trust yeh teh take over the business soon, but now I'm not so sure. Yeh have made decisions that I could not predict, yeh are losing focus, yeh are falling deeper and deeper into this feud wif Alfonso, yeh're getting distracted...”
“Padre” Alex interrupted, shaking his head, eager to explain himself now that he had something to say for himself. “At this point, Alfonso is a greater threat teh the business than yeh fink. And if 'e takes wha's mine, I will not let 'im get aweh wif tha'...” His jaw was shaking and he swallowed hard, a shaky breath escaping his lips as Jade squeezed his hand. He was desperate for more, knew that she would be able to soothe him with a few simple touches, and he was struggling to compose himself. “I joost refuse teh beh disrespected.”
“Alexander, yeh've disappointed meh.”
His mother sat straight, looking at her husband. “David.”
Jade had been biting her tongue, had forced her hand that was interlocked with Alexander's to stay still, but her other hand was shaking, she was struggling hard to keep still and when she saw the look on Alexander's face, she couldn't contain herself anymore. “Stai zitto!”
It was like a moment of slow motion in which all three pairs of eyes fixated solely on her, more so than throughout the entire conversation, and she was trembling, a fear rushing through her that she could not remember feeling last. She was going to regret this, but there was no going back now, and she used the moment of utter shock on the older man's face in front of her to continue. “He has done nothing to deserve that” she snapped.
“Scusi?”
She bit her lip. “Alexander has been working more and harder than I've ever seen anyone work, without exception. He upholds his name and lives up to it, furthering the business and all the while trying to establish a maintaining superiority over another business that makes all of this a whole lot harder. He shuts down any disrespect towards your family name, and this is what he gets?” Her lip was quivering, she couldn't hold herself back, not even the touch of Alex's hand on her thigh, nor the warning gaze his mother gave her could stop her now. “People on the street are afraid of you for the wrong reason, clearly.”
Alex breathed shakily, not daring to take his eyes off Jade, staring in awe, and he was as worried about his father as he was fascinated by the beauty beside him. He didn't have it in himself to apologize for her, because why would he, why would he apologize for something he had never dreamt of having but now realised he couldn't live without?
To Alexander's surprise as well as Jade's, his mother spoke first, leaning forward and extending her hand to Jade who took it rather hesitantly, her heart jolting as she felt the warm squeeze. “I just want teh say...” She glanced to her husband who she could tell was conflicted, fuming even, yet trying to stay calm and she shook her head. “No, David, she's reyht” she said decisively before looking back at Jade. “Gioia.”
Jade's eyes were wide as she looked back at the woman in front of her, was almost holding her breath again, her fear merging slowly into curiosity, she was truly lost for words now, managed merely incoherence. “I-I … scusa, I just...”
“No, there is nothing to apologize for, bambina, not when yeh are speaking up for me Alexander like this.”
A shaky breath escaped from her throat and she could only feel Alex's hand resting on her thigh, refusing to look away from his mother now, she was taken aback, could hardly comprehend what was happening as the woman nodded towards Jade's drink and she lifted it at the same time as she did hers, giving a hesitant nod when she cheered with her and downed it all the same as Alexander, quick and rushed to ease her nerves.
“Allora” she nodded. “I think weh're done here.”
Alexander rose to his feet, needed no telling twice and Jade missed is touch for just a second, watching him walk around to kiss his mother's cheek before he placed the fur coat over Jade's shoulder, his hand found the smell of her back and he nodded to his father, the heat of his hand searing through her dress as he led her away.
“Alexander” she whispered, pressing herself to her side, her fingers shaking as she clung to his arm. “I'm so sorry.”
He lifted his eyes, the softness of chocolate and everything he'd ever admitted to her in his eyes threatening to bring her to her knees. “Dun't yeh dare, doll” he said, reaching to brush her hair back gently from her face. “They like yeh.”

A Meeting Between a Fish and a Horse
Small RP Thread with @violettendency
Eridan Today at 7:07 AM
Fruits... Pens... Cute things? You weren't exactly the best at gift-giving... You weren't exactly used to having friends who liked you either. Usually it was just a beneficial relationship. Something to give someone status and nothing more. Gifts were... not a thing that occurred. Not for anything, but now... Now you were fairly fond of someone. Someone who was kind and soft and just... opposite of everything you were accustomed to.
So you decided to give her a gift! But... the process has been far more tedious than it ever needed to be...
But now you have a general idea, so you're about browsing stores and looking for something to effectively touch all target points of the things she enjoys. Just... need to figure out how.
Horuss Today at 7:21 AM
You meanwhile are completing your own task of browsing stores searching for items you need, or mare items that you think you will need? Items that hoof a high probably of being needed by you in the upcoming few weeks and thus a very low possibility of going to waste. Yes.
You are neigh quite willing to admit, even to yourself that you are busying yourself in the effort to avoid returning to your stable quite yet. Ordered to take a break from the precinct for a few hours yes, but neigh quite requiring to return home, which is definitely for the best, definitely for the best. Yes.
But you are distracted, quite willingly, by the presence of a... sea dweller? Odd but neigh need to be overly worried about it, neigh that that will deter you from being overly worried at the current point of time, he seems to be... a bit lost? He hay be the new one that hoof been in the chats...
Will you approach? A marement's deliberation. Yes, yes you will approach, offer assistance even if you are waved away.
"Are you, looking for anything in particular?" There you are, a simple query.
Eridan Today at 7:34 AM
Maybe you should even get a gift for the others? Something general... A cake? No, you don't want it that clear that you're apologizing for your earlier behavior... Still, in your defense it was difficult to really ascertain what the fuck was going on--
You stop mid thought as someone speaks to you, blinking and looking up. Another troll? And an indigoblood at that. Interesting. How come these highbloods weren't in the Crew? All he had were some yellows, some obnoxious purples (one of which he still hasn't met), and his ancestor.
"Oh, yes. Somethin... kind of specific?" You frown a bit, trying to come up with an explanation. "I need somethin to do with fruits and pens, and it has to be cute." Cod, it sounded weird saying that. "It's... for a friend," you add quickly, just to be sure he didn't get any wrong ideas.
Horuss Today at 7:42 AM
"You hay hoof better luck turning your search towards a mare stationary-geared section then," just haybe, a suggestion that can be taken or ignored. "I am sure they hoof some fruit decorated items that they will enjoy," mostly because you were there a few hays previous looking for a proper set for the Chief, but also because stationary in general is just very good, sharpening pencils is a very good process. Yes insteed.
Eridan Today at 7:45 AM
You just... kind of stare at him for a moment. You're a fish pun man. You can easily translate the fish puns, but what the fuck just came out of this guy's mouth? Horse puns? Oh cod... What did he say? What is he saying!?
"Wwould... you... take me to wwherevver I can find this." That was all you could muster, eyes squinting at the man.
Horuss Today at 7:50 AM
Staring, is in fact quite rude, very much so.
And you would hay that there is neigh need for him to be staring at you, neigh at all, a very rude sea dweller insteed. But you can be the better troll in this situation.
"Of horse," you nod, face remaining pleasantly blank and take a step in the desired direction. "It is this hay."
Eridan Today at 7:52 AM
"I'll followw your steed--LEAD. Followw your lead." You facepalm as you follow behind him, rubbing the bridge of your nose. You forgot why the landdwellers were so... well, why you kept them at a distance. Fish puns were nice. Fun. This? Was... weird.
Then again, you had never spent much time around the indigo population. You... couldn't call it weird. Not fairly.
But it was weird.
Horuss Today at 8:00 AM
Well that was an odd reaction, reminds you very much of when the Inspector slipped into puns without maneing to. It would probably do you neigh good to bring attention to it though, and you would very much like to avoid  hoofing a seadweller annoyed at you, that is far mare stress than you could ever need in your life.
You do neigh quite appreciate hoofing him at your back, it is a very unsafe position for you to be in even with the assurance that this is Derse and neigh Alternia and therefore there was neigh the lingering threat of 'this individual will always wish me harm unless we hoof arranged allegiances'. You could endure though, it would only be a few marements until you and ...
"I hoof neigh introduced myself yet," you note, one of your ears turning back to keep attention on him. "Or you yourself. But, I am Horuss Zahhak." Whether or neigh it is good to meet the seadweller has yet to be decided.
Eridan Today at 8:27 AM
You look up, opening your mouth and closing it again for a moment. You’d never asked how well known Dualscar was... Though would it matter? Considering the mess the Striders were in despite being related.
“Eridan  Ampora is my name,” you finally manage. “Nice to meet you.” Be polite. You have to be polite. Don’t cause a disturbance. You’d already done enough within the Crew with that. “Wwere you... Did you come from Alternia, or wwere you born here? If you don’t mind my askin.”
Horuss Today at 8:39 AM
"You as well Ampora," last name personal distance is a good thing to keep in these kinds of situation, yes they are insteed. But that's aneighter odd question, you do neigh quite know how to take it. You will answer it honestly though, there is neigh reason neigh to. "I neigh neigh mind the question; I am Alternian born and reared."
Eridan Today at 8:42 AM
Neigh neigh...
Don’t laugh.
“Ah. Same here. Derse is quite different than Alternia. Gettin used to the rules here is... frustratin, but nice.” You rub behind the fin of your ear awkwardly. “Not being a target is nice.”
Horuss Today at 8:52 AM
"Insteed it is," Very very different, you appreciate it very much. "It is nice to be allowed neigh to be slotted in one place for the whole of one's existence." Do you enjoy being allowed to neigh be an executioner? Yes insteed you do.
Eridan Today at 8:59 AM
"It's nice not to be targeted for a simple defect," you mutter quietly before clearing your throat. "Wwell, good to you for movvin here. Wwhat do you do in Derse? For a job?" You're curious... and also somewhat hoping you reach your destination soon. You feel so awkward talking to another troll that isn't a seadweller. It's... difficult. Not much to relate to, and if he's from Alternia then you can't help but wonder if he has some... bad memories of the violets there.
Horuss Today at 9:10 AM
You thankfoally hoof neigh herd the muttering else you would be very concerned about it. Haybe. You would hoof agreed anyways but that is neigh here nor now because you are drawing to the destination and the time that you hay be free of the seadweller entirely.
"Hmm? Oh I work with horses and engines at time," there is neigh quite a reason to tell the strange seadweller the whole of your career choice. Neigh at the current point of time at least.
You stop at the beginnings of the stationary area and gesture forward. "You should hopefoally be stable to find what you are searching for here."
Eridan Today at 9:45 AM
Of course he works with horses. What did you expect? But engines too? That seemed like a bit of a leap to a different hobby, but before you can comment you’re at your desired destination. “Oh, um... Thank you, Zahhak.” You could play the last name game too. “And I hope you enjoy your day.”
Ugh. You sounded almost robotic. You didn’t do nice farewells. Usually it was more along the lines of sleep wwell dowwn there as you dropped their body into the ocean for the fish to eat.
Eh. Whatever. You give an awkward wave and hurry into the store.
Horuss Today at 9:58 AM
"You are welcome, good luck finding something suitstable for them." And then Ampora is gone.
That... went very very well. A surprise after your previous experiences with seadweller but you will take this gladly and continue with ignoring your own need to return to your stable and rest.
You are neigh ready to rest yet, you hoof neigh been for a long, long time.
...
Onto the next maneingless task you hoof set for yourself today.

Goodbye..
Lia’s dialogue will be formatted like this
Warn’s dialogue will be formatted like this
Lia, to put it bluntly, was not doing too fantastic. Most of her hair had turned into this muted brown color, her skin had become pale like ice and she became borderline anorexic over the months. That certainly didn't stop her from trying to throw down with any and everything, but it didn't mean she'd always come out of it looking anywhere near 'good'. She sat on the edge of the bed, eyes darting around the room lazily as she pushed herself up off of it, a blanket loosely wrapped around her, even despite the sweater and long sleeve shirt she was wearing under it. "Warn," she stood in the doorway, somewhat attempting to find her fiance, "are you still here?"
Warn was acrost the room with her eyes practically glued to a book, reading each page swiftly then flipping to the next, she was probably reading hundreds of pages a minute and probably finishing the book pretty quickly then restarting it. She's stressed, distressed, and a serious goddamn mess. She can be heard groaning and punching the wall multiple times each with different levels of force. When she heard Lia speak up, she turned around with the most distressed look on her face. "Lia! Wha' th' 'ell are you doin' ou' of bed!? I tol' ya' t' stay pu'!" Her voice, despite her words, didn't sound angry but rather upset and worried.
Lia frowned at Warn ever so slightly, "I... wanted to come out here and spend some time with you." She wrapped the blanket around herself even more so, attempting to hide how easily you could see her ribs and collar bone, the tendons in her neck and so on. She knew it didn't exactly thrill Warn to see her like this, and she tried to hide it as much as she could. 'Maybe it would help you think that I'm not as sick as I am', she once had said.
Warn frowned as well, "I'm sorry if i' seemed like I snapped.. I'm just.. I'm so bloody on edge because o' all o' this, an' I can' stan' i'. I've tried everythin' I can thin' of to heal you an' ye' i' seems like i' only slows down ya' sickness by a little bi'. I hate tha' I 'aven't been able t' do anythin' or be able t' cure ya'. I's frustratin' as all 'ell. I also can' help but worry when ya' move aroun' because o' 'ow rapidly you're gettin' worse.." She looks on the verge of tears, "I jus'.. I don' wan' t' lose ya' an' ye'.. It seems like I don' 'ave much o' a choice in the matter.."
Lia sat on the table infront of Warn, her legs folded in front of her. "I've told you time and time again; I know what it is. But, I... suppose now wouldn't be a bad time to do so, since I... likely will not be around for too terribly much longer, love." She went quiet for a few moments, "You remember my sister. You remember what happened with her; how she looked when she died. I'm almost positive this is the same thing, or at least similar to it." She stared at her hands, curling and uncurling her fingers slowly. She spoke again, quietly, "We both know there's nothing you can do, Warn.."
"I know you know wha' i' is, but I can't help bu' hope and pray i' isn't tha' and tha' there's something I can do, damnit!" After that, the waterworks started. "I know there's nothing I can do, bu' wha' am I supposed t' do? Si' by idly while ya' continuously ge' worse an' act as if everythin's just as i' used t' be? Act like i's just you an' me together and nothin' else, like 'ow I felt when we spent time together a' our lit'le hideou' as kids? I can't, Lia! I'd love t', bu' I can't. I hate this, this illness, the stress it's causin' me an' the pain I feel knowin' I don' 'ave any choice bu' t' le' i' take ya' from me. I fuckin'- I- Goddamni'.." Warn's eyes were nothing but tears at this point as she collapsed, her head essentially falling and hitting her folded arms.
Lia softly wrapped her arms around Warn, giving her a few minutes before she spoke. "Can you do something for me?"
Warn looked up, tears still streaming from her face, "Of course, love. Anythin', wha' is i'?"
Lia pressed a soft kiss to the top of Warn's head. "When I... die, move on... please. I don't want you to sit around and mope over me until you die. I know, it's cliche and cheesy; but it's the truth. When I pass, move on, eventually."
"I-" Warn hesitates and stays silent for a moment, then nods slowly, "I'll.. try. It.. won't be easy, though.. I've loved ya' since we were kids, I.. it's hard t' move on from tha'.."
"Warn." Lia tightened her grip on Warn's shoulders, and forcing Warn to look at her. While she wasn't crying as hard as Warn was, there were still visible tear tracks on her face. "Move on... please."
"I'll.. I'll try, I will. I promise I'll at least try."
Lia nodded a little, letting go of Warn and curling back up into a ball on the table. "I... won't sugar coat it; I'm.. honestly not sure how much time I have left."
"I.. I don't want t' lose ya', Lia.. I don't.. I don't want ya' t' go.."
"I know. But I'm ready to. I want to see Ely again.."
"When you go.. give her my regards. I'm going t' miss you.." Though her tears had stopped momentarily, her voice still quivered.
"I know, Warn." She moved over to sit next to her. "Would you mind getting the fireplace up and going for me?"
"Of course, love.."
"Thank you."
Warn stood and began getting the fireplace ready, placing a few pieces of wood in and then lighting them.
Lia moved over to sit infront of it after a few minutes, wrapping her blanket around herself again.
Warn walked over and sat next to her, wrapping her arm around Lia.
Lia nudged herself into Warn's side. "Are you alright?"
"I'm.." Warn wants to respond but finds herself unable to."I guess.. I'm good enough for someone whose fiance and best friend is dying."
"Please, it's not like I'm skin and bones," yes she is, "I'm just bordering on constantly dying of hypothermia and I feel fantastic." She drapes herself over Warn dramatically.
Warn couldn't help but crack a small smile and giggle a bit, "You're such a dork.."
"Of course I am. It is my job to make you at least somewhat happy."
Then, out of nowhere, the sound of claws and paws tapping on the floor could be heard in the distance as Luna came rushing into the room, but tripped and lost her footing, so it was more like she came rolling into the room, crashing into Warn and Lia.
Lia screeched, thoroughly sandwiched between Warn and Luna. She hisses with a wheeze, "Fantastic."
Warn giggled, "Oh, relax, you know she didn't mean to. She tripped, probably gets it from you."
"I know, don't worry."
Luna gives a small yip and licks Lia's face a few times.
Lia screeches casually. "Luna, no!"
Luna whimpers and looks very confused. Why doesn't her human want her love? She just wants to spread her love and affection!
Lia pouts at Luna. "Later."
Luna whines and sits next to her owners.
Lia sits back up next to Warn and paps her thigh. "Come here you little shit."
Luna's face turns to that of excitement and hops up into Lia's lap.She then snuggles into Lia and lays down as best she can.Warn reaches over and pets Luna, allowing the small wolf to lick her hand, putting a smile on her face. "I'm not the only one who'll miss you, clearly."
"Uh, correction; She'll miss my lap."
"Oh, shut up, you know she loves you as much as she loves your lap."
"I'm aware, but she'll absolutely miss my lap and body heat more."
"Doesn't mean she won't miss you."
"Besides, you think I'm gonna miss just the memories we made together?"
"Well it's certainly not like you're gonna miss my ass."
"All I'm going to say is you're a damn good lay."
"Dear we have not had sex that much for that to be possible."
"Shh."
"Still, I appreciate it."
"You're the best lay I've ever had, end of discussion."
"Warn.. I'm the only lay you've had."
"Not true."
"Who was the other?"
"Did I ever tell you I was in Unit Eight briefly?"
"Yes?"
"Well.. there was this pretty rogue girl that I had to patch up fairly often and she was really into me, always acting real flirty. I decided to give her the time of day; we had a brief fling with each other before I helped you bust what's-her-name out. You're better than her."
"I feel like you added that last part on just to make me feel better about myself. Which, considering I'm on the brink of death, and willingly sitting with you, in the middle of the Jade Forest, I don't think that's really needed, love."
"I didn't add it just to make you feel better."
Lia shrugs, "It doesn't matter." She carefully lifts Luna off of her and sets her on the floor next to the two of them before she quietly crawls into Warn's lap and facing her. "Can you just hold me until the sun goes down, please?" Lia was deathly cold to the touch, despite being in front of a raging fireplace, and being under a handful of layers.
Warn nodded and opened her lap up some more to help support Lia, then began to stroke her hair gently, "Of course, my love.."
Lia hummed, wrapping herself around Warn some lazily. "Thank you."
"Of course, love.. I'll hold you as long as you want me to, you know I don't mind."
Lia kept herself around Warn for a while, before quietly speaking again, "Have I ever told you I love you?"
"Directly like that? Only a couple of times."
"As long as you're aware."
"I never doubted it, honey."
It took a while for Lia to get situated, eventually bordering on sleeping on Warn.
Warn continued to stroke Lia's hair gently and even started humming a song her mother would sing to her when she was young, just to try and help things a little."I love you, Lia.."
Lia's grip on Warn slowly loosened, her breathing slowing as she slept against Warn. It didn't stay peaceful for long, though; her breathing abruptly coming to a complete halt before a final exhale was let out slowly, her head hitting Warn's shoulder harshly as her weight was slumped against the Druid. The tips of her fingers and lips were a harsh dark blue-ish purple color, almost black in some spots, the veins crawling up from her hands filled with the same black color, sprawling all the way up her neck, and a dark black smoke-like entity eventually left Lia's body moments after her breathing stopped, dispersing into the air almost immediately, like it wasn't there to begin with.
Warn was silent for a few moments, just sitting there and holding her fiance's lifeless body. She closed her eyes, trying and failing horribly to hold back her tears. She clutched Lia's cold hand tightly, cursing everything and hoping that all of this was just some horrible dream she was having. But it wasn't. It wasn't and she knew that, she didn't want to face it, but that was the reality of it. Lia's gone. All of the memories they had together, what they had together in the present, all of it was officially just that. Memories. "Why? Damnit, why her? Why couldn't i' be me? She deserves t' live more than I do, and ye' 'ere I am.." "I couldn't even save 'er.. I tried bu' I couldn't. Maybe if I tried harder, I could've-" "..No. She told me herself there was nothin' I could've done.." She sighed and leaned down, giving Lia one final kiss, still clutching her hand. "Goodbye, my love.. May you finally find peace in the afterlife.. I'll always love you.."

Elijah Muhammad] If one would open up truth, such as the truth of God to the people, I do think that He's within his rights to stay out of the sight of the people until He has won everything to Himself; as the Bible refers to it like this: He's something like a king looking for a kingdom. And that He goes and he visits the people, then He leaves the people, goes away and waits until the time when that He can secure the kingdom. Then He returns to the people that He had made Himself manifest to. So I think that's a pretty good answer
[Professor Marvel] Well, I can't do anything without consulting my crystal first. Let's go inside here, just come along, I'll show you, that's right, here. Sit down right here, that's it. This, this is the same genuine, magic, authentic crystal used by the priest of Isis and Osiris in the days of the pharaohs of Egypt. In which, Cleopatra first saw the approach of Julius Caesar and Mark Antony and so on and so on. Now you better close your eyes, my child, for a moment, in order to be better in tune with the infinite
[Verse: Jay Electronica] It's frustratin' when you just can't express yourself And it's hard to trust enough to undress yourself To stand exposed and naked, in a world full of hatred Where the sick thoughts of mankind control all the sacred I pause, take a step back, record all the setbacks Fast forward towards the stars and the jetpack My feet might fail me, my heart might ail me The synagogues of Satan might accuse or jail me Strip, crown, nail me, brimstone hail me They might defeat the flesh but they could never ever kill me They might can feel the music but could never ever feel me To the lawyers, to the sheriffs, to the judges To the debt holders and the law makers Fuck you, sue me, bill me That name on that birth certificate, that ain't the real me The lies can't conceal me The sun rise and the moon tides and the sky's gon' reveal me My brain pours water out my tear ducts to heal me My Lord's too beneficent The message grab a hold to every ear it get whispered in The waters in the bayous of New Orleans still glistenin' The universe is listenin', be careful what you say in it My grandma told me every bed a nigga make, he lay in it The church you go to pray in it, the work is on the outside Staring out the windows is for love songs and house flies
[Bridge: Latonya Givens] I've got somethin' to say I, I've got somethin' to say
[Outro: Latonya Givens] Yesterday, yesterday is gone Tomorrow, tomorrow is on the way You don't have time to waste Gotta get it right Yesterday, yesterday is gone Tomorrow, tomorrow is on the way You don't have time to waste Gotta get it right
