Planet's mega fauna is equally slimy and there are many small lurkers everywhere. Including actual slimes, which are starfish-like radially symmetrical critters with a large and many layered protective coat of slime.

Art of one of my old alien spec projects. It is an earth-like planet "Ogninda", a planet of swamps and tropical jungles. Land and sea are full of sluggy critters. Sophonts are called Snulgs, they are silly little slug-critters with big eyes, a prehensile and flexible pad of tissue they use to move and interact with objects, and a twisty mouth at the bottom.

More Ogninda/Snulg world. Glimpses of shadowed forests with succulent bushes and hardy fruits. Flying slug-like critters and vast plains of invasive and parasitic leaf plants, and large trees with dry and protected bases that defend them from being overgrown with invaders.
