Are you watching lore? If so could you try to recap it? I’m so worried for my boy.

I am!! I'll recap the past three streams as briefly as possible, and tell you whether or not dream is a large part of it. this is longer than I'd hoped for so it's under a read more

stream 1 - tommy wants to talk to tubbo. tommy leads tubbo to a bunker he created under his house. he revealed that he has formed a sort of addiction to invisibility potions because they ensure his safety. he explains that he lives in constant fear, and dream is the reason. he says that while invisible one time, he saw dream enter the prison, so he figured that it was dream's home he wants to kill dream, and tubbo is on board with the plan. tubbo goes to eryn for supplies, and tommy goes to wilbur's revival spot and begins to speak to the sort of grave site. he explains that he's afraid that he's bringing tubbo into the wrong thing, and that he's scared but also excited to fight dream. he says that he knows that wilbur is proud of him. then phil approaches and they talk about wilbur briefly. tommy says that he loves wilbur, he literally says "I love him." (so awesome great moment). phil learns of tommy's plans and gives tommy armor. the stream ends in high spirits. dream is not in this stream at all.

stream 2 - tommy and tubbo enter the prison. it looks very overgrown and doesn't seem to be in commission anymore. they sneak through and eventually find dream, and the fight begins. they fight for a bit, and they notice how dream is much weaker than he used to be. at one point in the fight, tommy freaks out and enderpearls into the main prison cell, and tubbo follows. tommy accidently blocks them in, and they believe that the fight is over. however, tubbo finds a bunch of harming potions from the little chute in the back corner of the cell. he splits them with tommy, and they throw a bunch of them at dream, making him very, very weak. this allows tubbo to kill dream, taking his final life. clingyduo celebrate and leave the prison with plans to create a new country, called l'moonberg. they tell badboyhalo and sam about their win, and the two are excited to hear the news. they tell punz as well, and punz says that he has something that will be good for their new country. they follow punz into this weird, underground bunker. clingyduo catch wind that something is off, and punz reveals that he's not the only one with a revive book. clingyduo run away, but punz and the newly revived dream catch up to them. dream is in this one, but he barely speaks at all.

stream 3 - clingyduo, dream and punz are in the prison. dream demands that they drop all their items and empty their enderchests. they comply. tommy even gives away the book that wilbur gave to him before leaving. the only thing tommy keeps are the discs, because he knows that dream believes that they were burned by wilbur ages ago. the pair are lead to this platform surrounded by lava hanging from the ceiling. dream and punz are not in this room, but in a different one, where they're still visible. dream and punz explain that they have been experimenting with death, and that they want to live forever. through their research, (which was killing lazar and vikkstar repeatedly) they learned that limbo is determined by how you die. they feel entitled to this information, as if death HAS to be explored. they explain that because the world is so imperfect, they must kill everyone and potentially revive them, just to start over again. basically, they're causing the apocalypse. they want to see what limbo would be like for someone who dies via self sacrifice, so that's why they've trapped clingyduo. they made a contraption where if a pressure plate is pushed, an opening would be revealed and would set only one of them free; one must die for the other to live. dream and punz leave to get grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch (not kidding) and clingyduo are left alone. tommy reveals that he has the real discs to tubbo, and tommy tries to throw both of them on the pressure plate. tommy doesn't do this well and it's a blooper, but both tommy and tubbo are able to make it out of the prison, but both of the discs were destroyed. tommy is obviously very upset by this. tubbo takes tommy to snowchester and shows him the nuke that "went missing" all those months ago. tubbo suggests that they use it to kill dream and punz. tommy realizes that they have to be killed at the exact same time so one of them doesn't revive the other. tommy says that he will distract dream and punz and get them in the same place so tubbo can set off the nuke to kill them. tubbo is put off by this plan because it would kill tommy (literally eviscerate him) but tommy insists that it's the only way dream and punz can die at the same time. with some pushing, tubbo realizes that it's the only solution. the pair leave snowchester, and tommy is in very low spirits. he makes note of his last walk on the prime path, his last time passing the hotel, etc. tubbo tries to lift tommy's spirits, but isn't successful. they decide to visit l'manberg one last time, and they watch the flag wave. tommy asks tubbo to build the l'manberg flat up above the rubble for him, and tubbo agrees. they sit on the bench one last time, but in silence, because the discs are officially gone. they watch the sunset together one last time, and that's the end of the stream. dream plays a big part in this one.

WOO well right now I am thinking about the cat I saw on campus who snuck into the construction area of a building that's being fixed up. he was gray and pretty big with no collar and green eyes. someone asked why I was staring through a hole in the construction site covering and I said a cat and they told me that they've seen him on campus before.

also thinking about why we (USA) don't offer an HIV test every time anyone enters a medical facility, whether it be an emergency room or an average doctors office during a routine physical. i think the convenience of it could raise the rates of people being tested which means more people will know that they're HIV positive. and that's always a good thing.

i saw your tags on firesnap's post and AUGGHHH YESS TOMMY LET HIM GOOO and it's so bittersweet bc like. I have a feeling Tommy knew he'd be all out of sorts without Wilbur, at least for a while, and knew how much it would hurt, but what an act of love!! I like to think it was an act of trust too. If you really love them let them go and they'll come back core! Find yourself and get better and walk away like I can't and we'll meet again one day! (the finale doesnt exist to me the finaledoesnt exist it doesn't--) anyway ccrimeboys goes crazy. the tragedy of brotherhood.

LITERALLY sorry for taking forever to reply to this I've been in the trenches but YES it's just like that. tommy was likely more than aware of how he'd suffer if wilbur left; he lived through it once before and knew he wasn't in a position to heal effectively. however, he understood wilburs desperation; he HAD to leave. tommy trusted wilbur to not run off to utah and die or leave forever. it wasn't goodbye, but see you later. in my mind they see each other in everything and that's good enough for now

Tbh i think season 2 is just a way for dream to maintain his popularity. like EVERYONE else has other things going for them EXCEPT this dude. and before anyone mentions manhunts or whatever when’s the last time you heard anyone mention a manhunt. like he’s not uploading constantly so he NEEDS something for people to talk about but he doesn’t want to do any work for it

hi there, I don't really know what you're expecting me to say especially because those are not my words; I haven't mentioned the qsmp in any of my posts and instead focused on the translation aspect of the smp. I also have no desire to defend dream on any front, so, again, I don't know what your goal in sending this was. whether or not quackity told people about the qsmp doesn't matter, dream has made a seemingly butthurt joke over not being invited and claimed that quackity didn't deserve the streamer award over foolish, implying that quackity doesn't treat streaming like an "actual job." dream has been disrespectful and now people are upset over this smp because it's similar in concept, regardless of whether or not dream copied him.

again, like the others who have made a stink in my askbox, I don't like dream and have no desire to defend him in any way. while I think the concept of the smp is cool I have genuine doubts that it'll hold up. you know you won't see eye to eye with me, so saying anything at all is a waste of your breath. have a good day

hi snail i really just wanna talk about how much i love your idea for the staging of doomsday, simply utilising every aspect of the theatre, because thats what doomsday was. it what everything blowing to pieces around you, being unable to tell up from down through the explosions. the only point of real focus was techno, stood strong and still right in the centre, but you cant really pay attention to him because people are running and shouting all around you, trying not to die.

i think placing the audience into the centre of that conflict, rather than having them passively observe really encapsulates what watching doomsday was like. because L'manberg wasnt just shown to us, we were made to feel like we were part of it. watching doomsday felt like it was our home too, that was being blown up.

translating that to stage would always have to include that feeling to me, so having the characters fun frantically through the house, and up on the catwalk, and in the balcony, effectively making the actual stage just another part of the room would be incredibly effective

VARIS you understand me. we are l'manberg just as much as tommy and tubbo are, it's our home and our chaos and we're watching it be destroyed and we can't stop it just as much as they can't. in that moment we're terrified kids. and those in the mezzanine are terrified into silence as dream and phil pace around them. crazy insane

your post about schools made me think bc i had a flipped experience. elementary school for me was in a nice town with lots of upper middle class people. teachers were comfy money wise, good lunches, nice library, a million after school activities. then i moved and spent middle school/high school in an impoverished city. lunch was shit and not even free, no library, teachers were stressed out of their minds and everyone could tell. now i get so angry and not because i went from something great to something shit, but because the kids i went to school with here have ONLY known this. it genuinely feels like no one cares and no one ever will care. as if education doesn’t actually change lives. as if the systems in place aren’t contributing to the cycle of poverty. i am going to. start climbing up the walls

EXACTLY it feels so awful to know that there's so much better out there and the only reason why kids aren't getting that is because of where they live. it's genuinely baffling that we fund our public schools this way, it doesn't give anyone a fair shot. all kids deserve well paid teachers, a full library, new textbooks and all the supplies they could ever need.

I’m not the type to go “back in my day” but like when I think of cartoons designed for preschool kids now, I’m like Wtf.

I see Cocomelon, i see bright, neon lit imagery and constant noise and music and sound and it’s like. How do small children not get overwhelmed by this?

Growing up, we had Blues Clues and Max and Ruby and Backyardigans and etc etc. Those shows had softer colors and weren’t afraid to have quiet moments or moments where characters didn’t speak.

I don’t know, obviously not all cartoons are like that, Bluey is cute, Owl House is amazing, and there are other modern shows worthy of praise. But when I remember Cocomelon and YouTube kids and all the Too Muchness, it just makes me sad.

There might be a specific psychology as to why show creators think children need constant Too Muchness, possibly to maintain their attention, but I don’t know, I don’t think kids really Need that, ya know?

i think the reason for the shift in preschool television comes from a variety of things. for starters, our televisions (or really our phones, tablets etc) can handle the bright colors and higher quality better than tvs of the past could. we can put things in HD and whatnot. we also have to be aware that kids are USED to HD screens and bright colors, so shows of today have to adapt to that. this isn't to say that a show with more muted or pastel colors can't be successful, but it's a harder sell. but that's only the small bit of it. I think the real reason why there's so Much as you described is because of the way kids consume content now. most kids watch youtube now instead of TV. their parents or they themselves find hour-long compilations of episodes or clips of whatever show they want to watch. so essentially these kids are sat in front of a screen for extended periods of time without any substantial breaks, unlike live television, where you have a few minutes of commercials. and because kids are sitting there for SO long, their attention spans lessen, and therefore, newer shows overload on the colors and speed just so they can keep kids watching for longer. the internet has changed entertainment as we know it, and preschool television is no exception to that. it's not that kids Need the Muchness, it's that they've only ever been exposed to Muchness, so they struggle a bit without it. it's sad but avoidable in some aspects. it just comes down to parenting really. wow this was long but I hope all of this makes sense i hope you're well!!!
