Synopsis

Ren was outraged at the unexpected suggestion
Angered he returns to the classroom only to find...
Yoh: "Oh, your interview's already over Ren?"
Ren: "..You haven't gone home yet"
What does Ren think about spending time afterschool with his friends?

Ren: "Tch...! This is annoying!"
Silva: "Are you getting along with your friends, Ren?"
Ren: "... What do you mean"
Silva: "Ah no, I have no intention on prying into the deep meaning. I just..."
Ren: "It's none of your business!"
Ren: "I don't deserve to be pointed out on how to interact with others!"
Ren: "...I can't help but get angry, I do what I want!"
Ren: "Dammit...! I'm getting the hell out of here"
Yoh: "Oh, your interview's already over Ren?"
Ren: "..You haven't gone home yet"
Yoh: "We were all just talking about getting together at the burger store"
Yoh: "Are you coming too?"
Ren: "I'm not, go on your own"
Yoh: "Hmn...? You're angry aren't you?
Ren: "I'M NOT ANGRY!!!"
Yoh: "No, you're angry..."
Ren: "Leave me alone! I said I'm leaving!"
Yoh: "What are you so angry about... Ahh, I see. So that's what this is about!"
Yoh: "You must be hungry, Ren"
Ren: "............ What are you talking about?"
Yoh: "I know that feeling, it's hard to relax when you're hungry"
Yoh: "Well then, let's hurry up and go!"
Ren: "Oi! Don't pull, you idiot!"
And then Ren half heartedly heads for the burger store
Lyserg: "He even asked me about my break time"
Joco: "I'm just saying, leave me alone"
Yoh: "I don't remember recess because I was asleep"
Yoh: "I wonder if Horohoro is still around?"
Joco: "The interview sure is taking forever"
Ren: "I'm guessing they're giving him a warning about his classroom attitude"
Yoh: "Hehehe my ears are hurting"
Ren: 'Lax conversations amongst lax people... It's unbearable to listen to...'
Ren: 'I can't stand it...'
Horohoro: "What's up! I'll be taking your potatoes Ren!"
Ren: "Don't take other people's things without permission you bastard!"
Horohoro: "It's okay this much is fine"
Yoh: "You're late, Horohoro"
Horohoro: "Well the story was so long I almost feel asleep in the middle of it"
Yoh: "Ah, come to think of it, I fell asleep in class today"
Yoh: "Can you lend me your notebook Ren?"
Ren: "NO!!!"
Horohoro: "That's what I'm talking about! After school with my friends is the best!"
Ren: "............Hmph"
After that the five of them continued to talk about trivial things
Time passed by slowly

Since funkuro is ending next month I just want to say I am so GLAD H*o and Jeanne NEVER interacted cuz I fcking hate that pairing with my whole fiber being. And glad they didn’t interacted in the school AU either except Jeanne mentions his name and she alongside x-1 student council members were trying to get him in the school festival though Jeanne didn’t really do that much so i’m glad there were no interactions/moments of any sort between them. Though aside from that the only downside is that you get to put them together in team battles but I’m very careful with who I place so I never place them next to each other (And if I really do need both of them to defeat a chapter or quest or whatever I would put them on the same team BUT never placing them right next to each other cuz I hate to see them together)

May 23rd: Favorite Underrated Moment
Seth calls Kate “partner”
Listen I know there’s meta about my sad garbage husband and his trust issues and how Kate is the first person besides his brother he opens up to and so on, but I still have feelings about this.
Seth had stuck with Richie out of necessity their whole lives as partners. He didn’t pick his brother, but his brother didn’t pick him either. Vanessa and Sonja both told Seth they were his partner, made that choice for him. Sure he chose to marry Vanessa and he chose to get Sonja involved, but he didn’t fully see either of them as partners, not how he did his brother. They were just tagalongs. Casualties. But Kate… Kate, who he spent ONLY THREE MONTHS with, who was just a damn kid, who took care of his strung out ass, who lost everything to the same fucked up shit that took his brother… Those three months were all it took for Seth to look at Kate and decide for himself, for the first time that we’ve ever seen, that this person could make a good partner. She asked him, but didn’t demand it. She wanted to prove herself, but didn’t claim any right to it. The trouble was he knew they were each on their own dark path. They couldn’t work as a team, no matter how much they each wanted to, while they were consumed with their own agendas. When he hears about what happened to her, and in passing, it destroys him. You can see it in his reaction. The first person he ever chose to be his partner, the first person to care about him despite being a colossal fuck up, is gone. Just like that.
