Piemonte Share Festival, the Italian art fair of electronics, digital art and new media, announces the theme for its 10th consecutive Share Prize:

"Sincerity"

This twelfth edition of the festival will be led by artistic director Bruce Sterling, American author, journalist, editor and critic.

Our electronic network society has many virtues, but opacity, deceit and obscurantism are among its vices.   For 2017, Share Festival raises its lantern of Diogenes to search for technical artworks that are honest.

How can a work be technically accomplished, yet also lucid, clear and trustworthy?  

How can art works gracefully remove the smoke-and-mirrors of mystification and make an art of explaining themselves?

How can technology art treat the audience with justice, fairness and respect for their civilized intelligence?

Who has the emotional courage to privilege the heartfelt confession over the domination of digital craft?

From 16th January to 12th March entries can be submitted for the prize using the online registration form at the bottom.

An international panel of judges will short-list six nominees for the prize  which will be invited to participate in the usual exhibition of Share Festival, to be held in Turin in the end of May 2017.

The names of the short-listed finalists will be announced in the beginning of April 2017. The international jury will be announced by the end of January 2017.

Bruce Sterling, scrittore, giornalista, editore e critico sarà il direttore artistico della dodicesima edizione del festival.

La nostra società elettronica ha tante virtù, ma l’opacità’, l’inganno e l’oscurantismo sono tra i suoi vizi.

Per l’edizione del 2017 Share festival alza la lampada di Diogene in cerca di opere artistiche e tecniche che siano oneste.

Come fa un'opera d’arte ad essere tecnicamente un successo ma nello stesso tempo lucida, chiara ed affidabile?

Come fanno le opere artistiche a togliersi con grazia la mistificazione degli allori, dei fumi, degli specchi e fare di se stesse l’arte della trasparenza?

Come fa l’arte tecnologica a trattare il pubblico con giustizia, equità e rispetto per la loro intelligenza coltivata?

Chi ha il coraggio emotivo di privilegiare una confessione sincera del cuore rispetto alla dominazione dell’artigianato digitale?

Dal 16 Gennaio al 12 Marzo è possibile iscriversi al Premio utilizzando il form di registrazione presente al fondo.

Share Festival si svolgerà a Torino nella seconda metà di Maggio 2017.

Una Giuria internazionale selezionerà 6 candidati al premio, che saranno invitati a partecipare alla XII edizione del Piemonte Share Festival alla consueta mostra, che si svolgerà a Torino a fine Maggio 2017.

Entro i primi di aprile 2017 saranno resi noti i nomi degli artisti finalisti selezionati dalla giuria internazionale, che sarà annunciata entro fine Gennaio 2017.

Las aplicaciones que consumen rápidamente la batería de tu móvil

Mientras duermes, el teléfono se carga. Hay mandamientos no escritos que el hombre moderno parece obligado a cumplir. Luego cumples con el ritual cotidiano: te levantas, te vistes, desayunas a toda velocidad y antes de salir de casa, solo en el último momento, desconectas el teléfono del cargador con la esperanza de que la batería dure todo el día. Pronto descubres que eso no va a ser así…

"Si apenas he usado el teléfono, ¿qué ha pasado aquí?", mascullas. Si la pregunta es inocente y sincera, la respuesta más probable sea que alguna aplicación está clavando sus dientes en la batería, consumiendo demasiada energía.

Un estudio de la compañía de seguridad online AVG Technologies determinó cuáles son las apps con más vocación vampírica, según sus datos.

Parece que los colmillos más largos los tiene la compañía Samsung, a tenor de las conclusiones del estudio, que diferencia entre las aplicaciones que más batería consumen al iniciarse y las que más lo hacen durante su uso. En lo alto del escalafón de ambas aparecen productos de la compañía surcoreana.

La primera lista la encabeza Samsung Beaming Service, un servicio del sistema de los teléfonos Galaxy que viene preinstalado, y justo detrás la herramienta de actualizaciones de seguridad de la empresa surcoreana. Y la app que más batería consume al usarla es el Samsung WatchOn, una herramienta que permite utilizar el móvil como un mando a distancia para el televisor.

Otro gran depredador es Facebook. La aplicación de la red social aparece en tercer lugar entre aquellas que más consumen al iniciarse. Esta clasificación la cierran Waze Social, que sirve para conocer el estado del tráfico en base a informaciones de su comunidad de usuarios, y Vault-Hide, un servicio que asegura mantener protegidos los datos y fotografías de tu teléfono.

En cuanto a los productos que más energía consumen durante su uso, destacan los de la comunidad de anuncios online OLX y Telstra, que evalúa el estado de tu Android y suministra noticias variadas. Tras ellas, cierran esta lista negra de AVG las apps de Spotify y Amazon Android.

Otras listas del estudio

AVG también ha realizado otras clasificaciones de aspectos que pueden incidir en el buen funcionamiento de nuestros teléfonos móviles.

Entre las aplicaciones que mayor impacto tienen en el rendimiento de nuestros terminales Android cita a Facebook, Spotify, Instagram, Path y la aplicación oficial de Amazon.

Algunas de ellas vuelven a aparecer en la lista de las aplicaciones con mayor consumo de datos. Ésta es la clasificación: Daily Mail, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram y Whatsapp.

Y en cuanto a consumo de memoria interna, las estadísticas de AVG señalan con el dedo a Tango Messenger, Daily Mail, Facebook, Spotify y Line.

Ren Zhengfei, fundador y CEO de Huawei Technologies, ha concedido una entrevista a un conocido medio en China, en la que ha hablado de la situación actual de la empresa y de su sistema operativo propio. En esta entrevista ha dejado también unas curiosas declaraciones sobre el futuro del sistema operativo propio de la marca china, que no lo tiene fácil en el mercado.

El sistema operativo de Huawei necesitará tiempo para poder alcanzar o superar a Android o iOS de Apple en el mercado. Según dice Zhengfei, tardarán menos de 300 años el poder superar a estos sistemas operativos. Sin entrar demasiado en el optimismo de estas declaraciones, queda clara la brecha que hay entre estos sistemas.

HMS (Servicios Móviles de Huawei): qué son, cómo se instalan, para qué sirven

Los móviles Huawei no pueden usar las apps y servicios Google, por eso vienen con HMS (Servicios Móviles de Huawei) instalado, te contamos todo al respecto.

Huawei está a gran distancia de Android

Debido al veto sufrido por parte de Estados Unidos, la marca se ha visto obligada a buscar alternativas a los servicios móviles de Google, conocidos como GSM. Es por ello que la marca usa los Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) en sus teléfonos, que presentan alternativas para las aplicaciones y servicios de Google. La caída de ventas en Europa el año pasado les ha obligado a trabajar rápido en mejoras para este servicio.

Muchas de estas aplicaciones y servicios eran ya conocidos en China, donde estaban asentados. El reto para la marca es ahora que sean los usuarios en otras regiones en Asia y en Europa los que vayan a conocer y usar estas aplicaciones y servicios. Richard Yu confirmaba hace poco que los HMS cubren ya 170 países y cuentan con 400 millones de usuarios mensuales. Se sitúa por detrás de Android e iOS en este sentido.

Android es el sistema operativo que domina el mercado, con una cuota de mercado del 80%. Los consumidores se han acostumbrado ya a este sistema operativo, como ocurre con iOS. Huawei ha llegado más tarde con su sistema operativo, así que lo tiene más complicado para poder ganar terreno en este mercado, como reconoce el propio Ren Zhengfei.

La ventaja de Google con Android es que es de código abierto, permitiendo a fabricantes y desarrolladores sumarse, ya que se proporciona un entorno de desarrollo amplio y gratuito. Esto ayuda a que se lancen y creen muchas aplicaciones. En dicha entrevista, Ren Zhengfei ha querido comparar como en Google Play hay más de 2.1 millones de aplicaciones, mientras que en la Huawei AppGallery hay solo 55.000 aplicaciones actualmente. Una diferencia abismal, que también afecta a los usuarios, que tienen menos entre lo que elegir.

Otro problema al que se enfrentan en Huawei es que los usuarios fuera de China confían en los servicios móviles de Google. Reemplazar dichos servicios supone un cambio de hábitos para los usuarios, algo que cuesta mucho. Además, el hecho de que muchas aplicaciones conocidas no estén en esta tienda, si bien hay métodos para tenerlas, es algo que impide el avance de la marca, ya que supone un gran inconveniente para muchos usuarios.

Huawei no lo va a tener fácil en Europa con su propio sistema operativo. Esto era algo que ya se podía intuir, pero con las declaraciones de su fundador vuelve a confirmarse. Veremos si consiguen ir ganando terreno ante Android e iOS.

Good morning women of Brazil and the world...

Today is not day  "08/03 "... (International Women's Day, but I am a mere mortal, man, and a woman's admirer, I want to outline in a few words what I feel about these magnificent beings that our heavenly Father has created.

The biblical story tells us that God in seeing  "Adam " sad that he did not have a companion like the other animals decided to present his son with a partner and then he withdrew one of the "ribs " (to give rise to woman).

And because the  "rib ", in a marriage that I had the pleasure of attending the priest explained that God did not make it from a part of the  "lower limb "... So that she would not be submissive to the man, did not make her "hair strands" so that she did not feel superior to her partner, but made her the "rib " so that he would walk alongside him at all times that he was always at his side at all times.

Vejamos o exemplo de varias mulheres importantes como o grande Fausto Silva citou em um dos seus programas, Ruth Cardoso, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Zilda Arns, entre outras mulheres tão importantes, ah e é claro não podemos esquecer de nossas avós, mães, irmã, namoradas/anexos e afins.

Brincadeiras a parte quero agradecer por vocês existirem pois acho que... "apenas um dia", não faz jus a importância de vocês em nossas vidas.. Saudações "devassianas" !!!!

Bom dia Mulheres do Brasil e do mundo...

Hoje não é dia "08/03"... (dia Internacional da Mulher, mas eu um mero mortal, homem e admirador das mulheres, quero esboçar em poucas palavras o que sinto em relação a estes seres magníficos que nosso Pai celestial criou.

A historia bíblica nos conta que Deus ao ver "Adão" triste por não ter uma companhia como os demais animais resolveu presentear seu filho com uma parceira e então lhe retirou uma das "costelas" (para dar origem a Mulher).

E porque a "costela", em um casamento que tive o prazer de assistir o padre explicou que Deus não a fez de uma parte do "membro inferior"... para que ela não fosse submissa ao homem, não à fez de "fios de cabelo" para que não senti-se superior ao parceiro, mas à fez da "costela" para que andasse ao lado dele em todos os momentos que que estivesse sempre ao seu lado em todos os momentos.

Este é um relato que achei deveras interessante, pois ao analisarmos estas palavras vemos o quão importante são as mulheres, pois não estão abaixo nem acima de nos é sim ao nosso lado.

Durante a historia ouvimos falar de grandes impérios onde haviam Reis, Cavaleiros e grandes Rainhas, tão importante quanto os demais personagens das historias... afinal meus amigos vocês já ouviram falar de algumas historia de “fado”, “belo adormecido”, “cinderelo”, eu acho que não. Por mais que eles tivessem o dever e a honra de salvar estas princesas o foco sempre foram elas... "as mulheres".

Sim... porque as Mulheres meus caros "devassianos", são verdadeiras heroínas, conquistadoras e desbravadoras. Pois não... eu disse não há no mundo um ser tão perfeito quanto elas, que tem o Dom da maternidade, trabalha, estuda, cuida da casa e dos filhos, tem tempo para maridão/namorado/anexo e afins... para as amigas e só Deus sabe mais o que, uma maquina perfeita com todos os atributos necessários.

Uma vez li um e-mail se não me engano do Arnaldo Jabor, onde ele falava que a mulher tem apenas um defeito, elas não se dá o valor necessário, um defeito tão pequeno e tão grande ao mesmo tempo e cabe a nos homens de verdade darmos o valor a estas mulheres que são o simbolo da luta, superação e garra, pois como elas mesmo dizem, (fazem tudo o que fazemos de salto alto) e com o avanço da tecnologia nem para gerar uma vida precisam de nós, ou seja, quem precisa delas somos nós.

Então meus caros "dsevassianos", acho melhor "NÓS", os Homens e machos dominantes tão auto-suficientes começarmos a dar o valor que "ELAS" tão "frágeis" merecem.

Sí, es un saludo que me acabo de inventar. Ya sabes, para no incurrir en esa oposición entre el tiempo en que escribo esta carta y el tiempo en que la lees.  Pero también porque el típico saludo, creo yo, cae en esa simple cordialidad que mencionaste. Buenas, hola, qué onda, qué tal; me parecen un saludo mecánico y superficial. Sin embargo, shalalala te puede dar una seña del estado de inspiración en el que me encuentro (porque por eso se me ocurrió), o tal vez no, pero por lo menos es diferente y me tomé unos minutos en pensarlo para ti, con cariño.

¿Sabes? me parece muy curioso que hables de los sueños. Casualmente les tomo mucha importancia, tanto que, te confesaré, tengo una libreta donde dibujo los que más llaman mi atención. Y sí, coincido contigo: ¡gracias sueños!, porque además de reflejar nuestras preocupaciones, para mí, reflejan nuestro yo más “puro” por así decirlo; libre de pensamientos estructurados y alineados a las normas sociales. Una forma desenvuelta de interpretar lo que vivimos y pasa a nuestro alrededor. Pero bueno, me preguntaste que qué soñé. Recuerdo una breve y borrosa película donde iba caminando hacia mi casa, era de noche; pero la luz amarilla de las lámparas me iluminaba.  Atravesaba un puente peatonal, con preocupación y renuente a subirlo porque sentía que se me olvidaba algo. Cuando llegaba a mi supuesta casa, me veía y traía puesto mi uniforme del trabajo, –¡osssshh!, me tengo que regresar a dejarlo– me quejé. Ni en mis sueños puedo dejar de ser distraída, jaja.

Y ¡tu libro!, sí me llamó la atención; más porque la autora es mexicana y me gustan mucho esas anécdotas paranormales; aunque después de googlearla, creo que el libro habla más sobre la violenta sociedad en la que vivimos; todo un tema que no me gusta tocar mucho, pero si lo veo interesante. Yo ahorita estoy leyendo algo más suave: Siddharta. No sé si ya lo has leído, a mí me lo recomendaron desde la prepa y, desde entonces tenía ganas de leerlo; pero por azares del destino, hasta ahorita estoy teniendo el placer de conocerlo. Si te interesa el libro, podríamos hablar más sobre él, yo encantada.

En cuanto a qué es epistemología, después de leer (sólo la introducción) “Epistemología y metodología cualitativa en las ciencias sociales” y enredarme con muchas ideas, si te soy sincera, me está costando un poco definirla. Pero lo haré lo mejor que pueda. Yo me quedo con que es un esfuerzo por entender distintas realidades/verdades, siendo conscientes de muchas de las variantes que las pueden construir, como tribu, edad, zona geográfica, lenguaje, etc. Y al mencionar distintas realidades, también me refiero a que es un estudio muy flexible, ya que no se limita a establecer ideas absolutas, siempre está en búsqueda de nuevas visiones de la realidad, con el propósito de ampliar determinada perspectiva sobre determinada cosa, pero no sólo eso, también tiene el propósito (como vimos en clase y como bien lo mencionas, Isa) de llegar a un acuerdo o a una misma visión, que permita una mejor interacción y comunicación entre individuos tan diferentes que somos.

Entonces ¿qué tiene que ver la epistemología con el diseño? Pues todo, porque como apenas lo dijo Ricardo Harte en una de mis clases: “no somos levanta pedidos, somos estrategas de la comunicación visual y formal” Y si la epistemología nos ayuda a entablar mejores canales de comunicación e interacción, ésta entonces al aplicarla, se vuelve una forma de diseñar, más humana, más cercana a quienes diseñamos y, por tanto, más relevante. Lo llaman diseño centrado en el usuario. Claro, ahora ya puedo entender lo que dice Rodrigo Hernández Ramírez: “…designing is not just a discipline (but rather a distinct epistemic system)”

Ahora, antes de que te conteste lo último que preguntaste, hablaré de la clase del jueves: LA PRÁCTICA. Primero, muchas gracias por tus notas, entre las tuyas y las de Ale me pude dar una buena idea de lo que les compartió Susana. Y me pareció muy interesante esto que les dijo sobre desarrollar la práctica personal, ya que, como yo lo veo y como lo dice por ahí en unas notas; el éxito de esta práctica, consiste en encontrar ese hacer que te emocione, pero que también te brinde paz y estabilidad. Una vez que lo encuentras, empiezas a hacerlo constantemente, empiezas a repetir, pero a mejorar también, empiezas a observar y auto evaluarte cada vez con más detalle y así hasta que vas puliendo poco a poco los defectos. Pero no sólo se trata de pulir defectos, sino también de agregar virtudes y estas se logran, pienso yo, gracias a esta flexibilidad y adaptación que mencionó. Ya que, si te cierras y caes en una práctica rígida, ésta te hará muy bueno, sí; pero también te limitará de las posibilidades de ser mucho mejor. Como en la epistemología, en la práctica igual debe haber una búsqueda de nuevas ideas que permitan un avance y una evolución personal. Pero ¿para qué todo ese trabajo? ¿es acaso por un deseo de llegar a la perfección? Entonces la perfección no podría ser estática, ya que si en algún momento alguien llegara a la perfección ¿qué seguiría? No creo que haya algo más allá de la perfección misma ¿o sí? Creo que la mente humana no sabe de límites, si de perfección se trata, ya que siempre habrá un deseo de cambiar y mejorar. Sin embargo, respecto a tu pregunta: ¿la perfección puede ir contra este cambio constante? Lo he pensado toda la semana y creo que si la hay. Tal vez pudiera sonar contradictorio, pero ponte a pensar en un objeto tan simple como una cuchara. Según google, este utensilio tiene una edad de cuatro millares de años antes de nuestra era. Evidentemente, las cucharas de ese entonces no son como las de ahorita, pero sí conservan la misma forma cóncava con un espacio para agarrarse (mango) ¿no te parece que ese simple esquema formal, ha podido satisfacer nuestras necesidades perfectamente, por lo que no ha necesitado cambiarse? O dime, ¿conoces otra cuchara que no funcione de igual manera que las que todo el mundo conoce?  Para mí, el esquema de la cuchara es perfecto: una parte para agarrarse con la mano y una para cargar alimento. Simple pero no se necesita de más para funcionar. Entonces yo diría que las condiciones bajo las que la perfección puede existir, son simbólicas (intangibles, como el esquema que mencioné) y no creo que estas mismas le quiten el nombre de perfección, ya que ésta es evaluada desde otro punto de vista, uno meramente práctico y funcional.

Si lo que acabo de decir te hace sentido, ¿no crees entonces que nos deberíamos preocupar más por llegar a estos esquemas simples y perfectos que son más resistentes al tiempo? ¿no este podría ser un camino para resolver muchos de los problemas que nos preocupan hoy? Como el uso de botellas desechables, y en general todo lo desechable, por dar un ejemplo. ¿Y no crees que un esquema que funcione “eternamente” tendría más posibilidades de encontrar la perfección también a nivel superficial? Ya que este tendría más tiempo de practicarse. Puede caber la posibilidad ¿no? piénsalo y dime qué opinas.
