Eric annoyed: Vick, what is your deal? That's like the twelth time you've sighed since we've been sitting here.
Ella: More like twelth hundrendth!
Chantel cheers: We're the best, so score them points. You win the game, we'll rock this joint!
Victoria: Ugh, you guys! I just feel like we're not talking enough about prom!
Eric, Ella, and Chantel groan in frustration
Chantel: Okay, ya'll are not even watching me practice, are you?
Eric: Vick, what do you mean? I feel like it's all we've talked about since school started.
Victoria: We've barely scratched the surface! No one has their outfits picked, we haven't secured an afterparty, Ella hasn't even gotten security clearance to go! Time is of the essence, people!
Ella: It is literally months away.
Victoria: 153 days to be exact.
Eric: But, who's counting?
Ella: We have exams, college admissions, I'm on bridesmaid duty! What exactly do you want us to be talking about that's so important?
Victoria: Well, we could start with dates. Ella, I'm assuming you're going with Luca. It's just a matter of time before he asks you.
Ella: Uh, yep, I guess so.
Victoria: And Eric?
Eric: Uh... I was thinking of asking my friend, Mckenzie. You guys remember her, right?
Ella: How could we forget?
Chantel cheers: And a 1, 2, 3, - should I just stop?
Victoria: Chantel! We're the only two without dates to prom?
Chantel scoffs: As if I'm worried about getting a date to the prom.
Victoria: You're not?
Chantel: No! Getting a date is easy. I could get one right now if I wanted.
Victoria: Yeah, okay, Chantel.
Chantel: You don't believe me? Watch this.
Ella: Here she goes.
Eric: This should be good.
Chantel: Hey, you!
Victoria: Oh my, Watcher. She's really doing this.
Student: Uh, me?
Chantel: Yeah, you. Your name's Lee, isn't it?
Lee: Uh... yes.
Chantel: Chantel. You going to prom with anyone?
Lee: Oh, uh... no.
Chantel: Wanna to go with me?
Lee: With you? Really. I mean, sure. Why not, I guess?
Chantel: Cool. I'll send you the deets on Social Bunny.
Lee: Cool! I'll see you then.
Chantel: See? Told you. No big deal.
Eric: Wow, I can't believe you just did that.
Ella: I can.
Victoria: Okay, yeah. I'll give you props that that was pretty ballsy. But, that's not going to work for those of us who actually care about who we go to prom with and have specific people in mind.
Eric: Like who?
Victoria: Like I'd tell you guys so you can hunt him down! I'm going to trust in the Watcher that he will come to me with an elaborate promposal, we'll go in beautiful matching outfits, win prom King and Queen, and live happily ever after.
Ella laughs: As you deserve, Vicky.
Chantel: Yeah, yeah. That's all great. I wish the best for you. Now will you guys actually watch me cheer? This is gym period, right?

zola bantu knots ⭐️
hiii im back and here’s my first hair of 2024! it’s a very simple but super cute edit of the base game bantu knots where i have added front and side braids with beads to it! im not an expert on traditional african hairstyles (so pls correct me if im wrong!!) but it’s often noted that bantu knots either originated or were popularized by the zulu ethnic group in southern africa. so, i picked a zulu name (zola) for this hairstyle! enjoy! 💛

"Yeah, I'll think about it." Melody gave an awkward smile.
As Melody left the building, she was left with a lot to think about.
Chantel told her she didn't have to spend Love Day alone. She had options, not many, but still some options.
So the question remained, which one of her single friends would she be spending Love Day with?

mini dedication essay to black simmers and ts4 creators below! pls read if you have the chance! <3
this edit is a small homage to afrofuturism and the various unique black hairstyles (and especially the black creators of most of these hairs) that i have downloaded and admired over the years! some of these are old and some of these are new.
to me, afrofuturism means constantly honoring/reclaiming/challenging the past while constantly creating/dreaming of a better society/world/future. a society/world/future that embraces and empowers all of our differences, ingenuity, aspirations, and unique lived/cultural experiences. a society/world/future that does not limit us through the various systems of marginalization and oppression (racism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, sexism, xenophobia, ableism, classism, colorism, etc.) that often affects how we, as black people, live today.
blackness is so diverse and intricate yet it's always been a struggle to find my culture within a game that's known for being so limiting, bland, and extremely eurocentric when it comes to hairstyles, clothing, food traditions/events, etc. black simmers have always had to figure out how to make this game more inclusive and make it resemble either more like how our ancestors lived, how our current lives are, or how we would want our lives (and even our children's lives) to look like in the future no matter how dystopian the real world look and feel now. fortunately, these hairs and their uniqueness bring a huge sense of culture and style to this game. they have always inspired me and made me feel extremely proud to a part of the lovely african diaspora (and the ever-growing black simmer community).
in a way, being a black simmer and cc creator usually means that we are often digitally creating our own worlds as afrofuturists to varying degrees (whether we know it or not) every time we open our game, make our sims, make houses, and/or make black cultural cc. also, now i know that cc making is not easy to do and is extremely time-consuming so this post is also just me giving all black cc creators especially those who create for free their well-deserved flowers! here are some other black cc creators who created cc that have greatly impacted my game since i first started playing sims 4: @/leeleesims1 @/simtric @/hi-land @/yuyulie @/sims4bradshaw @/ebonixsims @/xmiramira @/sheabuttyr @/qwertysims @/oplerims @/sleepingsims @/shespeakssimlish and so many more im forgetting probably (im too shy rn to tag ppl but i greatly appreciate y’all fr i hope y’all telepathically get this message somehow 😭).
