The Ginkgo cart comes again, weeks later, and he takes the box to his study, leaving the smaller parcels in the main room. He doesn't hear Akari come in that evening; he doesn't look up when she touches his shoulder.

He expects the ending to come suddenly, like a lightning bolt, or a landslide. It doesn't.

It comes gently, a quiet rustling at the back of his mind, a soft murmur of a breeze, a collective hush as the colors of the forest change. He sits at the table, watching the light flicker inside the glass of his lamp, the shadows contorting in forms familiar and foreign. He senses Giratina near; his pen scratches in the unnatural silence.

The Ginkgo cart comes again, and he takes the last box to his study with the others. He doesn't open it, hasn't opened any of them. He knows what's inside.

He senses the ending in the closing of the season, in the days that grow shorter and the nights that grow longer. The wind whips through the trees and the leaves that fall dance in spirals. He hears the voices of the spirits, whispering in the darkness and knows the time has come.

He descends to the root cellar and gathers the berries, the flowers, the seeds. He fills the baskets set aside for this purpose and hefts them to the borrowed cart. Arcanine is quickly harnessed up and he's just about to lift himself into the driver's seat when Akari lays a hand on his arm.

"I'll go with you, if you want."

Volo allows himself to smile, genuinely. He bends to rest his forehead against hers, holding her close.

"I know. But I - I need to do this alone."

He lifts himself into the cart, making sure the baskets are tied down before he sets off down the path from the house that sits neither in the Fieldlands nor the Highlands. Looking back on Boueibu, it’s wild just how much content there was.

an idiosyncrasy i see in english subs for so many thai shows is the use if the indefinite article when saying to take care: 'take a good care' i find it so charming and am so curious why that is

Sorry that I haven't been posting much here since I've been wrecked by the never ending cycle of being unmotivated lately... but, I'll try my best to keep myself alive and healthy.

If you have seen fanarts of naoya & hidehiko in some strange flamboyant outfits, it's because their visual kei outfits were loosely inspired by famous 90s vkei artists like Hide & Gackt. The side-by-side hidenao manga pics (above) were actually from a sidestory/omake in vol. 5 of P1 manga! They aren't scanned anywhere in english as what I recalled.

Maybe, if I have some energy left, I might try to scan & translate this omake chapter. Of course, I will share the link here too! I'm not a gatekeeper, just so you know! :3c

i'm bad at rainworld but i really like the story, so me and my friend have our own region called Sea Complex. obviously, it based on marine themes, and all slugcats there are based on sea slugs. we even have numerous stories! but i won't tell them rn haha

maing slugcats with their main story, anemone and pinecone. their big scary mission is to deliver a pearl to one of the iterators

anemone is more wild one, toxic (literally) and independent. true warrior of the wilds!

and pinecone is more like a domesticated cat thrown in a river

sidestory characters, mama (real name is faded medusa) and her adopted slugpup pocket. their story takes plase before anemone's and pinecone's and have a little drama

medusa lost her own kids but found pocket, and pocket is just a child with a mask

and yeah, iterators! there's 4 of them because region is so big

1) 8 tidal waves - annoying crybaby but kind-hearted. the source of the problems for everyone else

2) sardine peeper - they're the main in group, also they're like the one who "domesticated" pinecone. proud owner of a lapdog! or lapslug? lapslugcat?

3) 2 drops of ink - an apathetic one. they're just there. chilling.

4) deep-sea day star - the most serious one, true 🤓 guy. only thinks about researches

The amount of time I've bawled my eyes out while reading the sadistic beauty sidestory b. If it wasn't for the translator notes in the story I'd have lost it. She points out the hypocrisy and double standards. The dichotomy towards certain character and blatant favouritism to other characters who are actually r@pists but faced no consensus while one character got all the punishment and misery. I love you translator and I'd love to hug you (consensually of course). You saved my sanity. Thank you translator whoever you are.

Or if there are any plans on making an english translation? I know some people have made guides for using the NAVER app but I am very stupid and couldn't figure out how to navigate it and got overwhelmed XD

Putting this down here as more my own note taking about the Desire Tavern members popping up here and there after the Brandy event. Specifically after that event because they were part of the main roster and appeared quite frequently. Mind you, this is also littered with speculations and some headcanon stuff.

It's also interesting to note that Spaghetti seems to be interested in the whereabouts of the "Wheel of Time", though of course he's just one of many parties interested in that artifact, whether as pieces or as a whole. It's still unknown what he needs it for, or if he's tracking it down for someone else (Whiskey comes to mind). The intention is up in the air and knowing Funtoy's current state of affairs, I'll assume I'll never get closure on that front (amongst other things).

In the Kiviak event, Stargazey Pie arrived at the Dragon Lair on Spaghetti's information that the "Wheel of Time"… at least one of its shards, would make an appearance there. She buys some jewelry that catches her eye from Red Velvet, who after finding out Stargazey is interested in the 'shards', leads her to the Auction part of the building.

As it's a sidestory and Stargazey doesn't show up in the event's conclusion nor in any other sidestory thereafter, we'll assume she was only able to gather information for Spaghetti. It's also unknown if her original intention was to buy the Wheel of Time's shard, or simply to observe and confirm what happens to it.

As a side note, Stargazey looks to have matured a little more with her lines. She still fancies pretty things (including hands) and wants to have them, but her spoiled nature seems to have been curbed and doesn't throw a tantrum when she can't have something. I guess Spaghetti and the rest of the girls have been somewhat of a positive influence in that area.

The next appearance is in Kaiserschmarrn's event. Spaghetti and Oyster make an appearance (my heart!) as a response to a peculiar letter that arrived at their tavern begging for them to rescue the children from the circus. As context, that letter was penned by a young girl who befriended one of the circus children since the circus child didn't know how to write. That same young girl told the child about the wish granting tavern in Nevras and offered to get her wish out to be rescued.

In the duo's conversation, Spaghetti claims they both came here out of curiosity despite, as Oyster pointed out, that the wish did not comply with their rules. This suggests that any time they receive a wish that did not follow their criteria, it would be left unanswered. And yet interestingly, they answered this one 'out of curiosity' and even Oyster decided to come along when children became a factor, per Spaghetti's words.

'Circus children, customers of various backgrounds... With a little imagination, it could be a crime thriller. Maybe we'll even catch a few nobles while we're at it.'

This line causes me some confusion, more specifically the last one. Putting aside possible sub-par translation, Spaghetti's probably thinking they could catch some ne'er do well nobles in some atrocious acts if they uncover something nasty. So they're still doing their vigilante stuff... ah, Spaghetti, keep being the villain that you are.

Though the sidestory ends with both of them seeing Beer terrorizing a child with his insistent singing. A very random way to end this, especially since there's not even a cliffhanger to this with Beer noticing the two Food Souls at all. Funtoy, wtf?

Add to that, the main event again has none of them popping up. And the one sidestory that acts as an epilogue for the children and Feijoada's fates... doesn't tell me what happens to the children.

Feijoada was offered rescue by a mysterious man— That's just Baklava I'm certain by what little I know about other FS connections, and it cuts there.

Now I'm hoping that it means Baklava helps Feijoada and the children get to town. But that now leaves the subject of whether Spaghetti and Oyster decided to drop their curious pursuit or they'll do something about the children. There's also the matter of Beer appearing within Oyster and Spaghetti's proximity, and from what I do know from Oyster's bio, Beer definitely doesn't hold Spaghetti in high regard but who knows? Spaghetti is probably a necessary evil at this point for certain things to go 'correctly' for this timeline to achieve a good ending (see SP Beer bio, and also see SP B52 bio for what happens if Spaghetti strays off his purpose as a lynchpin for the Desire Tavern existing). So basically it's vague enough that I can just think of something and it will just fill in the gaps.

Insofar, that's all of the current appearances. I'll have to keep an eye on things to see where else they show up but honestly I'm just here to find as many Spaghetti crumbs as possible.

With all of these, I manually searched for nicknames containing "Xie" or "Hua", so it's possible I missed some that I didn't spot or are different than expected. Once I'd built that list of names, I've just been running a script to search for them. That means there could be some mistakes where the name comes up but it's about someone else (e.g. little Xie COULD be Wu Xie or Xie Lianhuan, not Xie Yuchen), though I did try to look for outliers. Also, everything is obviously based on someone's translation choices and how much subtitles are even including the nuances of naming - I'm getting the impression that they were fairly detailed so thanks to whoever subtitled these.

If there's some other nicknames you know are used, I can get rerun this script pretty easily (also didn't run other shows/the heihua movie because I don't have subs for it downloaded, but it'd be pretty fast to do if people are curious)

I think the most heartwarming comments I have received are people like yourselves picking up the story again. Its pretty easy to get wrapped up in the bittersweet tones of ORV at times and forget about the laughs and batshit insane moments it has. Overall i found the message of ORV to be a heartwarming one. My story wont be over until I decide it to be. I may have people in the world who read a couple of my life's chapters, but I will be the sole reader to the end of it, so I should create a story that I enjoy reading. (unless your favourite genres are apocalyptic alien murder type situations then i may ask you to reconsider) I have read some of the available side stories online! 'A Dumpling Made by Someone Else', and 'Someone Who Remembers You' (i think the full version, not the summary). I have seen the odd bits and pieces from Mia and others overtime! If you are referring to the ongoing sidestory with Lee Hakhyun then sadly i have not :'D, only the first chapter and any additional chapters i have found floating about online. I try to keep up with it by chapter summaries provided by fans online and its pretty amazing so far i am loving what they are doing. I tried to make a naver account and get it verified (?) so i could use the coins i got from events and then try to machine translate but i got lost at the verification stage :')

legit I think my only real complaints is that the conrad sidestory is like. kind of overboard.... totally skippable if tyril's bad/sad love end in the first game was already bad for you I'll say; aanddd they tried to debunk transmasc tyril as an interpretation BUT IT LIVES ON. And I've also read a spoiler that she was joining in on gossip with her friends calling Jennette ugly, lying to Jennette, and even reveling in Jennette's misfortune and feeling relief at how unhappy in life she actually is. Was she really like that?

Then the spoiled also stated that she kidnapped and knocked out LP! Athanasia, she hides things from her. She apparently also make out with Lucas next to the unconscious body of LP Athanasia Did she really do that to LP Athanasia?

I don’t actually remember specifically when Athy and the tea party girls gossip about Jen’s appearence. I distinctly remember though, how Athy would make small comments about how Jen wasn’t all that attractive. It was after her black magic was removed when everyone suddenly just agreed that Jennette “wasn’t as pretty as they thought after all” for some reason. She also seemed to hit and pull Lucas’ hair a lot? Even after he says it hurts? Which is kinda weird, and not really romantic.

However, Athanasia really doesn’t like LP!Athanasia. For a while, almost every instance where Athy sees her, her inward dialogue is expressing annoyance while claiming that LP!Athanasia ‘wears her face while looking so pitiful’ (despite LP!Athy being the original Athy???). The first instance of this is Chapter Two in the Lovely Princess Sidestory, where they literally meet for the first time and Athy is immediately creeped out and disgusted. She’s also irritated when LP!Athy cries herself to sleep after being rejected by Claude again. Because Lucas kidnapped and put LP!Athy asleep, Athy had to pretend to be her for a while and she really hated it.

Athy’s view on Jennette is very strange, too. She appears to like Jen, but only when Jen’s in certain situations. Athy gets a letter from Jen after she gets exiled and appears to be happy when she talks about her life while apologizing to Athy (this is in a different side story). However, when she goes to the world of Lovely Princess, she thinks very harshly in annoyance over Jennette living in the Emerald Palace where ‘she’ should be, as well as how Jennette sleeps so calmly and happily. But she also comments that in the world of Lovely Princess, she’s the only one other than Lily who seems to care about Lovely Princess Athy.

Oh, but Athy does kiss Lucas while LP!Athanasia is knocked out. LP!Lucas put LP!Athy to sleep and wants Athy to become the Athanasia for the Lovely Princess world and stay with him.

It’s also in the Lovely Princess side story where you can find where Athy threatens LP!Lucas that she’ll erase her memories and emotions of him because she knows that’s what he fears the most—which is info she got from SBAPOD!Lucas, and a sensitive aspect of Lucas’ life that LP!Lucas admits he would never tell anyone (which kinda cements how much other Lucas trusted Athy, but also a crappy move Athy pulled knowing it was a sensitive topic for the Lucases).

While rereading the side stories, I also found something interesting. In Lovely Princess, Jen’s black magic was actually helping Claude—go figure I guess? Unlike what people tend to say, LP!Jennette also doesn’t want the throne, either. In fact, she even outright tells the nobles and Roger that Athanasia was better suited to replace Claude (ruling wise) than her. Which is funny since the fandom keeps making LP!Jen as someone who was after everything LP!Athy had. In fact, Lovely Princess Jennette is actually? Really nice? From what the fandom makes her out to be? It could have been a bad translation, or maybe changed for all I know though.

LP!Jennette does internal monologue about how she knows that Claude isn’t her actual dad. But it’s also not as dramatic as the fandom made it to be. Rather, she’s actually quite? Innocently passive aggressive about it? She isn’t clingy to Claude because she wants to hurt Athy. In fact, she’s clingy to Claude because she lokey resents him—because he killed her dad and basically aided in her mom’s death leaving her with no parents. “Because you took my parents away from me, you should take responsibility”. That’s all she’s after, a sort of revenge on the man who killed her father.
