Y llyfr heddiw yw 'Forbidden Lives' gan Norena Shopland, a gyhoeddwyd yn 2017.
Mae'r llyfr hwn yn gasgliad o hanes LHDTC+ Cymru. Mae'n un o'r ychydig lyfrau ar y testun Cymru a pobl LHDTC+ (fel Llyfr y Dydd ddoe ac echdoe!). Mae'r ysgrifen Shopland yn goeth a manwl iawn. Mae hi'n defnyddio ei hymchwil yn y llyfr i ddangos hanes bobl LHDTC+ aneglur, fel Edith Gertude Phillips (g. 1886). Mae Shopland yn disgrifio hanes pobl LHDTC+ nodedig fel y Eleanor Butler a Sarah Ponsonby, hefyd.
Mae'r llyfr hwn yn un o fy hoff lyfrau!

Today's book is 'Forbidden Lives' by Norena Shopland, published in 2017.
This book is a compilation of Welsh LGBTQ+ history. It is one of the few books on the subject of Wales and LGBTQ+ people (like the Book of the Day yesterday and the day before yesterday!). Shopland's writing is exquisite and very detailed. She uses her research to show the history of less well-known LGBTQ+ people, such as Edith Gertude Phillips (b. 1886). Shopland describes the history of more well-known LGBTQ+ people also.
This book is one of my favourite books!

Research question and personal code book
Research question:
Does the consumption of cigars and to what extent affect lifelong nicotine addiction?
Literature review
Our study suggests that cigar type and smoking behaviors affect dependence and nicotine exposure upon cigar smoking. These findings provide additional insight into the substantial risks associated with cigar smoking.
Cigar smoking constitutes a significant public health concern. Whereas cigarette smoking has decreased significantly over the past 2 decades, cigar consumption has remained relatively stagnant.
Nicotine addiction can develop within a short time after starting smoking, and smoking in adolescence is associated with numerous health consequences.
Since nicotine is addictive, in the event of a sudden cessation of tobacco consumption, an abstinence crisis occurs, which makes it difficult for self-employed persons to quit smoking or discourage new attempts.
Codebook and variables
The selected topics for the assignment are:
Number of respondents who are addicted to nicotine for life (TABLIFEDS);
How often did the respondents smoke cigars (S3AQ3B2).
To what extent they consumed nicotine, in terms of the number of cigars they smoked per month (S3AQ3C2);
These topics were chosen because cigars are one of the most commonly consumed nicotine product categories among the respondents and because most of the data on cigar smoking is found here. All respondents aged 30 to 50 who consumed cigars in the last 12 months were taken into account.

Y llyfr heddiw yw 'A Practical Guide to Searching LGBTQIA Historical Records' gan Norena Shopland, a gyhoeddwyd yn 2021.
Mae'r llyfr hwn yn wych iawn ar gyfer ymchwilio i hanes LHDTC+. Mae'r hwn yn llawlyfr defnyddiol i unrhyw ymchwilydd a fy hoff lyfr wrth ymchwilio hanes LHDTC+. Mae pob adran yn dangos enghreifftiau mewn archifau papurau newydd, llyfrgelloedd, amgueddfeydd ac yn y blaen. Os ydych chi'n ansicr sut i chwilio am ddogfennau hanesyddol LHDTC+, mae'r llyfr hwn yn dangos sut i ddefnyddio gorchmynion Boolean i chwilio archifau ar-lein ac yn dangos sut i ddefnyddio fethodau eraill i ffeindio unrhyw ddogfennau hanesyddol LHDTC+. Today's book is 'A Practical Guide to Searching LGBTQIA Historical Records' by Norena Shopland, published in 2021.
This book is very great for researching LGBTQ+ history. This is a useful handbook for any researcher and a favourite book of mine when researching LGBTQ+ history. Each section showcases examples found in newspaper archives, libraries, museums and so on. If you are unsure how to search for LGBTQ+ historical documents, this book shows how to use Boolean commands to search online archives and shows you how to use other methods to find any LGBTQ+ historical documents. One of my favourite research books!

Day One
Whilst it's been a very excellent and much needed week of R&R, the anxiety has been trying to creep in at what lies ahead, so time to quell that by getting started!
A late lunchtime start for the first day, and after taking in the coast of Foulness at the weekend my initial route is to head inland to navigate around the rivers Roach and Crouch.
A nice ride around the back of Shopland to the aptly named Rochford to get over the first, and a convenient ferry and friendly ferryman from Wallsea to Burnham-on-Crouch to get across the latter.
A lot of the peninsula east from there is private roads or footpaths unnavigable for bicycles, so after a little doubling back I've made my way a little further northwards to the mouth of the river Blackwater, by the picturesque St Peters Chapel on the saltflat coastline.
The weather has been pretty grand - but of a headwind for parts but helps keep the heat down a bit!
I'll take that as a very successful first step along the journey!
Also an apology to any I'd not managed to get sime time to see whilst down south, I will ensure to catch you once back around! And a massive thank you to all the help from my Nan, Mum, Steve, Josie, and El - you've all provided a gigantic amount of support in making this adventure happen, you are all owed plenty on my return!
Now to find a spot out of the wind to fix some dinner!
