“Do I have to? I do not have handcuffs on me… and Wriothesley is sleeping peacefully.”
[Neuvillette sighs for a moment before grabbing the hand cuffs from Wriothesley, slipping one side on to his own wrist, then the other on to one of the loops on Wriothesleys belt, being careful to not disturb him]
“I only hope that he has the keys on him when he wakes up.”
For the three sentence prompts: Run with Wake from Bonus Links?
Wake was tired.
Keeping ten heroes together who wanted to be doing practically anything other than stay together was a lot of work. He finally got to collapse in his hammock for the night, and his momentum pushed it into a rocking motion. It was comforting; it reminded him of his ship at sea.
He was nearly asleep when he felt a finger poke his forehead. Wake jolted up, hand automatically flying to the knife at his belt.
Mini was staring at him.
Wake sighed and flopped back down.
“Yes?” Wake asked. He kept one eye cracked open to watch for Mini’s response, but the kid just kept staring.
“Do you need something? Or can I go to sleep?” Wake asked.
Mini clicked his tongue a few times, pushed Wake’s hammock into a rocking motion again, then proceeded to run away.

Summary: Serafina attempts recruitment and Thomas tries not to commit a murder.
He had eyes off of Edith for maybe two minutes. Apparently that was all the time Serafina had needed to charm her, going by the way Edith was preening at the attention. Impressive allure for a fear-eater, or maybe Edith was just that susceptible to pretty girls.
Thomas strolled forward and, flinging his arm around his cousin's shoulder, tugged Edith back. She stumbled and tensed, before realizing it was him.
"Serafina! Always a pleasure to see you," words a hair too sharp to be genuine. "I see you've met one of my cousins."
Edith shrank a little, catching on that she'd been talking to the wrong person.
"Of course." A mask of smiling politeness, typical White Court. "I try to familiarize myself with out young exceptional kinsfolk."
Well, that confirmed things. Edith was a bastard of House Raith, the only exceptional about her (and more notably the only that would reasonably intrigue Serafina) was that she was a minor talent. This wasn't the first time she had charmed a lesser member of House Raith, appealing to loneliness and low self-esteem.
Thomas lowered his voice. "Edith, remember that thing we talked about, in regards to keeping yourself busy?"
Code for 'go check on Justine or Lara, so I can attend to business'. She nodded and scampered off; she was learning.
He leaned back against the balcony, appearing more relaxed than he actually was. The anger was simmering. He had expected better. "This party is not for your recruitment attempts. Leave my cousin out of your machinations."
"I know he talked to you," she said quietly, gaze intense. "This is no different."
It was different. Edith was young and vulnerable. Whatever Jameson and Serafina were up to, Thomas was experienced enough to deal with it. "Either way, Edith is off limits. Now was this plan yours or Jameson's?"
Serafina's expression tightened. Her voice was low and gaze intent. "I know what it's like to grow up being called a freak by family, and I know Mircea treated you the same. I'm not like-"
She faltered, indecisive. "He didn't tell me to do this. He won't bother lesser talents, not when you're an option."
Serafina walked away then. It should have been reassuring but Thomas was starting to get an inkling there was more he didn't know. At the very least, Serafina and Jameson weren't entirely on the same page.
