Okay so im gonna just throw randomly my thoughts on sm6 while rewatching it cuz why not, I was doing the same thing for hazbin hotel so why not spooky month too?

Ok im just gonna say: that starting scene with thieves was kinda funny. Also rewatching it, im starting to suspect that this giant spider thing in Lilas attic have her husbands soul, IDK WHY, I JUST FEEL LIKE IT, it just looks so important, it even appeared twice in the ep: in the begining n in the end.

Also ARE WE JUST GONNA IGNORE HOW JAUNE CALLED LILA "HOT STUFF"??? WHILE HAVING A HUSBAND?????? A HUSBAND THAT SITTING NEARBY HER WHEN SHE SAYING THAT???????? ARE THEY IN A POLY RELATIONSHIPS HOLY FUCKING SHIT????????????? IM EVEN MORE INTRIGED NOW

Okay so Skid does know and remember his dad, I just was thinking that his father left/died when Skid still wasnt born or when he was very little so Skid doesnt even know that he had a father, but no he does remember his dad, so that means he presented for quite long time in Skids life.

Also im really suprised how big Pumps house is, well i mean— he said that his parents work alot so ig i shouldnt be suprised-

And this is the part where i actually cried alot. Poor Skid doesnt know that its not his fault at all.. Also even if Father Gregors words were kinda mean, that Lila is irresponsible mother, I cant disagree with them. Yes, she is an alone mother, but it doesnt give her permission to just leave her child to himself n his friend n go drink n then spent time w her child drunk. Yeah i know, that she leaves him to mr Wonder n Susie, but lets be honest, were here even a single time when the kids didnt just leave the house n cause problem? No. So i think the Fathers words are make perfect sense, n Lila should think bout it. Also a lil thing i just thought bout, why would Lila throw away her husbands stuff? If he actually died why would she do this? Or hes not dead n he just left for some reason? Idk

this was one of the first tweets i made after finishing chapter 2 nearly... freaking 2 years ago. and basically i've just been saying that over and over again in different ways because i'm still not tired of the concept yet and probably wont ever be LOL. i'm obsessed with how badly the narrative wants to force them into an easily categorizable dynamic, especially the romantic one in snowgrave. the literal THORN RING, the more possessive dialogue options, spamton calling noelle a side chick LOL... it all creates this unnerving visual novel bad end atmosphere that feels manufactured by someone who's only ever learned about romance through secondhand sources. they're two queer teens trying to navigate their changing relationship with the only role models they know being their parents' own failed heterosexual marriages. they're so divorced² (divorced children of divorce).

i also like that for being so tragically doomed coded they can be funny! both in a dark humor way and also like, genuinely funny, like the stories of them as kids with kris covering themselves in ketchup and hiding under noelle's bed lmao. i mean there's even something funny about the romantic trappings of the snowgrave route, like trying to put wedding cake embellishments on a crime scene... you know, funny like kids trying on their parents clothes but they're too big and for some reason they're also crying and covered in blood? um.

i'm also SOOOO interested to see how snowgrave will continue in chapter 3! i really liked the hopeful note chapter 2 ended on (well. i took it as hopeful anyway). there's that bit where noelle is talking to herself and she says something like "recently kris has been acting so strange and no one else has noticed... i have to figure out why" and then kris jumpscares her LOL but i think i took that one line and really ran with it. noelle really is the one who knows kris best and despite how scared she is, she's still determined to help them... i like the little subversion of victim/hero going on, the implication that kris might be the one who needs rescuing.

the additional story/lore that came with the spamton sweepstakes made me CRAAAZYYYYY like my GOD... it's cute that noelle likes glitches/creepypasta when kris is kinda a walking creepypasta <3 also, god, noelle falling asleep listening to kris playing piano in the other room... there's so much like. wistfulness and nostalgia and this like... distant/detached intimacy packed into how noelle narrates that scene. it's kind of funny how much there is to dig into when like on a surface level they're just fairly regular childhood friends who grew apart LMAO they're extremely deep to me okay...

on another note i guess i do ship them? i like their dynamic whether it's platonic or romantic (the best is a weird mix of both 👍). it just can't be boring LOL like... this is one ship where trying to apply cookie cutter tropes to them really falls flat and the game is ahead of you on that anyway. in terms of romantically shipping them, i honestly don't think they're doomed to repeat patterns forever... i think they could actually be good for each other! but that's not really the aspect of their relationship that interests me akldjf;alk;sdg maybe i will make 60 page comic of kriselle going to couples counseling some other time

Very much agree with all of your thoughts on Playful Land. The ending really was lackluster...to be honest, when I first saw the trailer, I was soooo excited for what had the potential to be THE darkest, most disturbing event in all of TWST (I thought their card designs were already so cool and unnerving at the same time! Their outfits but also their eerily puppet-like poses...!). But at the end, none of the topics that you mentioned that could have been explored were explored. Like hello, you are dealing with fucking HUMAN TRAFFICKING??!? Also more emphasis on magic being used for something like THIS. Turning people into puppets is fucking terrifying.

Also, very much a minor nitpick, but I kiiiind of expected/hoped this event to take place during the same time as the Masquerade event? Since the Playful event involved everyone who stayed behind. Like, I'm just imagining everyone who went to the Masquerade coming back after a hectic near death experience, only to find that the people left behind went through a terrifying experience of their own at the same time and are now traumatized, and nobody had a fun Halloween. Lmao. Although I guess it didn't make much sense to expect this, since Yuu's in both events and they can't be in the other when they're already at one lmao.

I'm also not hating, all in all it was actually a pretty decent event all things considered! I also loved the introduction of Fellow and Gidel. And the song slaps imo. Still, if you make a fix-it fic or find any, think you could share it? I'd love to see your work if you do make one!

Ahhh I feel the same way too! It really felt like the Halloween events were about to get darker and darker every year- they are HALLOWEEN events for a reason! Their cards were so eerie too, it made all the characters look like puppets under control. Which is why it’s so strange that none of that actually happened in the event? ∑(ﾟДﾟ) The boys did get wooden masks and such, losing their own autonomy, but I thought the puppet theme would be a lot heavier than it actually was. Like, at least forcing the boys to fight against Kalim, Ortho, and Ace, instead of using random wooden puppets.

THE HUMAN TRAFFICKING BEING BRUSHED OFF HAS ME ROLLING 😭😭😭. What do you mean Fellow just sails away to open a school for children 😭😭😭 Like the game literally never elaborates on what happened to the people turned into human puppets. Are they dead?? Are they alive and forever trapped in this horrifying puppet-like state??? Like??? I definitely need to read up on the last parts of the event, but the idea that someone can even has this ability is horrifying, and I really would’ve liked to see the commentary on this sort of magic. How magic and human greed combine to create unthinkable atrocities that are only doable through magic. It’s just…wow. It blows my mind that this incredible concept was conceived, but never elaborated on.

Haha, exactly! I think it’s so funny that no one’s predictions on Playful Land came true. Nothing about Ace’s brother was involved, the Masquerade event theory didn’t happen. I don’t think it was even Halloween during this event either. Maybe it could’ve been a “Fairy Gala IF” type of event where Yuu can be at both events for alternate-universe type of thing. Although, to be honest, neither Yuu or Grim played a huge role in the story (*ﾟ▽ﾟ*) I’m always happy to have Grim with us, and him dressed up as Lampwick made me cry, but Yuu was more of an observer than usual.

And same here! I know I sound negative but I’m really not! I love the event for what it is, and we got amazing new characters and animations and costumes. It’s just a shame to think of what could’ve been. I haven’t seen any fix it fics yet, at least on Ao3! I have been working on drafting a rewrite though! ✌︎('ω'✌︎ ) I’m really excited to write my visions for this event, especially with Fellow and Gidel’s backstory, and I’ll keep everyone updated on this. two things... 1. it's crazy you can just catch Mirai like this when Amane could NOT at ALL, even with how desperately he wanted to prevent her from touching Nene-chan in the Clockkeepers arc. and 2. you suddenly have this violent agility to stop this inhuman speeding mouse, but you simply let Nene-chan evade your sleep fingers just earlier? Tsukasa really is avoiding using violence with Nene-chan....

the Yugi can be so different and then so alike. It's a pain, isn't it? tedious things... the mysteries. And here Mirai is, droning on about justice and crime and rules.... all of the things we don't need. If we want to change the future, we'll have to break all of those. The Yugi look at other mysteries as chores in these circumstances. You'd just like to do as you please without annoying interruptions. Of course, it has to happen... sigh.

Interesting to hear Mirai refer to their 'Court of Law'. I suppose that 'space' we see is some sort of body of their boundary, and some aspect of their themeing. These gavels ... how annoying. Emi in Japan (2024) - Day 4

Hey guys,

OH MY GOSH I HAD SO MUCH FUN MEETING MY FANDOM FRIEND IRL😍❤️❤️❤️

R was just as easy to talk to IRL as she is over discord! At first we had that moment of "oh my god you're real" weirdness but it melted away like ice cream on a hot summer's day as we explored Shimokitazawa, a boujee district known for its thrift stores and cafés.

First off, we went to Bear Pond Espresso, a super cozy and cute café. Here, I HAD MY FIRST CUP OF COFFEE. Yes, you read that right: the first of my life! Ya'll, I took one whiff of coffee when I was ten and promptly decided "nah not for me". But omg I've been missing out! I had the sweet ice milk latte and I looooved how it tasted. I fear I may have unlocked something new in me lol...

I asked the barista recommendations for lunch, so we followed their rec and ended up at a soba place! It was very yum. Afterwards, we went ✨shopping✨. I bought a cute cat tote bag and some cat earrings hehe.

We still had some time on our hands before I had to go home, so by my recommendation, we went to Jimbocho, the book district of Tokyo😍❤️

Truly, I recommend Jimbocho to any book lover, even if you can’t read Japanese! There’s a lot of secondhand places that sell vintage/classic Western books. I’ve found gorgeous editions here that I treasure to this day.

R and I entered a very stylish bookstore that sold a lot of children’s books. I myself bought the second book in the Kiki’s Delivery Service series (fun fact: it was a book series before it was a movie!).

Then we went to Nyankodo, a cat themed bookshop that is a MUST VISIT for any cat lover😍❤️!!! They only sell cat related goods, whether that be books, tote bags, water bottles, pins, postcards, etc. It’s, like, my personal heaven.

On my recommendation, R bought a graphic novel about an old lady and her cat that made me ugly cry when I read it lol, while I bought a badge and two books. One was a photography collection about an old lady and her cat (I’m seeing a theme here lol). The second was a beautifully illustrated picture book about a teeny tiny black kitty named Toto. I’m so excited to dig into these.

We were feeling pretty tired at this point, because boy, was it humid! So we stopped by a bookstore/café I'd been to before and had a rest. I ordered an ice cream and hot chocolate. Oh my god was the ice cream heavenly. Like. So so good. The hot chocolate too was very yum.

Here, my friend and I talked about what brought us together: Sylvgrid 🤣❤️! We talked about our WIPs, what we love about our ship, and inspired each other to get back into it! After our chat, I felt sooo motivated to get back to my Sylvgrid longfic, Ludus/Eros/Storge. So galeheart folks, if you don't see me around in bg3land, you know what's up…

After our café break, it was time to say our goodbyes. We went to the station together and rode our respective trains, but not before giving each other a big old hug, of course!

During the train ride back, I was soooo giddy, and when I got home, I told my grandpa all about my day! He was very happy for me hehe.

I hope I get to see R again before she leaves Japan...today was the bestest day EVER🥰❤️❤️❤️

I mixture of 2 things made me into a true Boone hater. No.1 is When I first played New Vegas I thought the Khans were kinda wack, not really evil but I didn't really like them either. Then I got the line from Jack about Papa being "a softie at heart" and it immediately made me rethink them. And me being more sympathetic towards them made me question the rest of their treatment at the hands of other characters in the game, one of whom being Boone. No.2 was seeing how wack his fans were about defending his actions and how much they will make shit up about him to justify his actions. Like idk I saw fem!courier number 8784589 loving stroking Boone's arm and tearfully say "its soo sad you were forced to kill those raider children but don't worry I forgive you" and I just snapped ig

6. My least favorite ship of them

I hate Manny/Boone with a firey passion for real there is a special place in my heart dedicated to hating that ship. I just hate everything about it, Manny's conflict with Carla is interesting enough just stemming him being from a poor family in North Vegas and her being from a more well-off family from the Strip, you don't need to add romance to it to make it more ~spicy~. At no point does he even allude towards being in love with Boone, he's just pissed off because he hates his besties wife. I hated my bestie's boyfriend and it wasn't because I was in love with her it was because her boyfriend was a prick. And I feel like there's a lot of people really into it who don't really seem to notice the connotations they're cooking up. Like seriously can we not have the canonically gay brown/latino man be the spiteful jealous ex-lover who is trying to steal the poor innocent white soldierboy away from his loving wife guys cmon do these people not know how bad this makes them look. I'm gripping these people by the shoulders and shaking them very hard. Anyway I hate it so much let my OC fuck Manny instead <3

Awful. Not only is he emotionally constipated but he's also former military, basically a marine, so I think he'd just order his kids around and be like :/ when they don't do what he says. And that's me being nice about it, I've had plenty of ex military men scream in my face as a child for crying, I don't think he'd be that bad but he wouldn't be good. Maybe it's hot take but I don't think it is considering he shot his own wife and also countless Khan children so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think he doesn't take any special considerations when handling kids. He'd expect them to function as NCR recruits or would just ignore them <3

I have thoughts on Barbara’s intentions and my instinct is gregory needs to keep her name out his mouth. I do think it’s really important that Janine stood up to Barbara, just maybe gregory made barbara seem worse than she was

My immediate reaction was this one of my favourite episodes of the season - lots of excellent Barb moments, the kids, more mr johnson, story arcs I enjoyed and felt completed.

Janine standing up to Barbara was a really big deal for her considering her hatred of conflict and worship of barbara as a mother figure. It made me really proud to see how far janine has come.

But the longer since watching the less I like it. And it’s two main things:

- the jacob melissa room mate situation feels like jumping the shark for plots sake and not something realistic for those characters. So as much as I enjoy them and their dynamic and their growth it just feels fake.

- I dont care about the librarian. The set up feels like she could stick around and I just don’t care for new characters, I like my main people. (But then the same apprehension was had w the district people and they’ve not seemed to be around much).

I do still really like this ep and it definitely ranks highly in the season, just idk, some eps I enjoy more over time but this has made me feel more confused as to what will happen next I guess.

not to mention that f&b is all about historiography and the reliability of resources. mushroom’s perspective is often perverted and the writing of aegon mirrors his writing of daemon and Rhaenyra, pointing to it likely being evidence of mushrooms disgusting desire for underage girls (and also grrm’s tendency to include way more rape of children than artistically necessary in supposedly being soooo against it). Mushroom was not in Kings Landing when Aegon supposedly did this, making his account less reliable. Ultimately, we can’t know for certain if aegon did it (I lean towards not believing it), but at least we can all agree on the immorality of it. In the show, it really does a disservice to the story telling by adding more sexual assault of women (we already had that shot of Viserys and Alicent) and completely stripping the civil war of any nuance. People do not want to support a canonical rapist, therefore discussions of the dance are shut down on the basis of this black and white morality which has been imposed by the writers decision. It’s especially strange when the show canonically shows daemon to also be a rapist, yet we don’t get a scene of the young virgins he buys crying.

As much as I hate that they use mushroom's version of the stories I can't say that they aren't allowed to, it's just the selectiveness of using it that bothers me.

I sure hope that grrm was properly criticized for making every character way too underage and unnecessarily so. I would never dare say that an author supports everything they write about but I read somewhere (it might be untrue) that he made Daenaera Velaryon so young because it was "unrealistic" to him that she could have 5 kids past a certain age (mind you I believe the post said past 25 years of age). So that really irked me, and made me question his choices a bit more. But then again, can't judge an author based on what they write because that would be like accusing Vladimir Nabokov of being a pedophile for writing "Lolita"

I hate when shows use rape as a sort of gotcha-ya moment. One that especially bothers me is Larys because that scene with Alicent was so stupid and ridiculous, it was just there for more shock value because women suffering to them is just that - a shock value. That scene of Viserys and Alicent at least had a purpose of making the audience see that she doesn't want him and that she's being maritally raped.

They made Corlys and Rhaenys be close in age, when it's a well-known fact that she was 16 and he was 20years older when they married, just to make him a better man.

Daemon is a grooming child predator yet the show glosses over it while Aegon's rape of Dyana will probably be expanded (if the rumors about Dyana's actress being in s2 are true)

So once again, did they simply just have to make Aegon a rapist? It just screams "we want to make sure you are all rooting for who we want you to."

Tomura has grown on me throughout the series. He's my second favorite character in the series, Dabi will always be my favorite. They've been hurt time and time again, beaten down, seen the worst of humanity, but they've still made a family for themselves and are doing everything they can to protect it.

It's funny because in my group of friends I was the last to get into bnha and Iida was my first blorbo.

I remember that as soon as Tomura appeared on screen I new I would get obsessed with him, to the point I silently begged myself to please don't fall AGAIN for the villain. The whole episode I tried really hard to ignore him, until he scratched his neck and then I was doomed. It was the first time I saw a character with a scratching problem that came from his anxiety, something I can identify myself with.

TWO separate groups of friends that were into bnha and none of them had a clue why I liked the main villain so much. Some of my friends were even against him, but respected my choices. So I made it my mission for people to understand just how great Tomura was as a character and why he was not simply the evil type of guy, but a complex villain who could even by called a failed MC.

Then I met Dabi and holy shit, people would make the same mistake. Did no one else saw that Dabi and Tomura were victims? Did no one else noticed what Horikoshi wss doing? I started to search on here and I didn't find enough material. Why would people want to ignore to of the best characters on the whole series? That's I created this blog, lol.

Dabi and Tomura (the whole League of Villains to be precise) represent all those aspects of trauma and survivors of abuse that are seen as negative in our societies. They were strange, weird, they made people uncomfortable, they couldn't even cry like "normal" victims, but maniacally laugh. They didn't have the option to do things "the right way". They were not material for the inspirational stories that you would see in magazines or on tv in some random show, those were reserved for heroes and good children, people who were either attractive or you could easily feel compassion for.

I got soooo easily obssesed.

The League was quirky, different, hard to sanitize like people would do with other characters. They were violent and full of rage, true to themselves, scary, unattractive on classic standards, cruel to the soft protagonists. While people got distracted by all of that, the superficial, they ignored their gentleness. Tomura calmly answering to Toga and not exploding in rage. Toga taking care of Twice and his wound. Them avenging Magne. Compress being worried about Toga wellbeing. Tomura not punishing Twice for his mistakes. Dabi crying real blood for his family. Them still carrying Magne's weapon even after she was dead. All the details.

I love the League, specially Tomura (I kin him), but they are dear to me because I also fight to defend them online and the story didn't prove me wrong. That's special. For many of us.

So I'm glad to hear you enjoy them and I'm glad to hear you love so much Dabi and Tomura!!!!!!!!!

AAAHH!!!! I wanna write about the moment Maria tells Maurice SO badly. You KNOW. How I FEEL. About PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS!!! I am so excited to gush about all this to you AAAAAHHH thank youuuuuuuu

In short, they were OVER THE MOON when they found out. I have a little fic about it but they were soooo excited to start their family. They wanted their home to be filled with children and chaos and laughter and love. When Maria realizes she’s pregnant, she has a whole plan to tell Maurice when he returns home from his day of work. But he throws a wrench in her plan by coming home for lunch!! She plays it off like it’s fine and normal but he can see right through her and can tell she’s being Weird. And she really can’t keep a secret from him, so she says something like “Oh, I had a whole plan to tell you…” “Tell me what?” “There’s… There’s going to be a child.” and Maurice Knows what she means but he’s just so in disbelief that he says “You mean… we… are you…?” and she nods so happily and puts his hand on her belly and says “We’re going to have a baby.”

And all at once Maurice just turns into such a mess. He starts crying and hugging her so tight and cupping her face in his hands and kissing her over and over. He cries a lot, more than she does. He’s just so happy to start his family with his beloved Maria. It’s a path in life that he thought was closed off to him for a long time, so he just… he can hardly believe that it’s actually going to happen. And Maria is JUST as thrilled. She’s beside herself with glee. She started talking to him about how many children they were going to have like right when they got married, lmao. She comes from a big family and despite the problems she has with them (long story, but she’s from the aristocracy and she left them to marry a street artist… so they aren’t on the best of terms) she loved growing up surrounded by her siblings and she just can’t wait for that to be her home with her darling Maurice.

They absolutely LOVED feeling her kick and wiggle around. Maria said that it felt like there was a little bird in there, flapping its wings against her belly. That first time was definitely very magical. Maria felt movements earlier on, ones that Maurice couldn’t quite feel yet, but eventually, the first time Maurice COULD feel it, his face just lit up. That’s his baby in there!! Maurice loved to lay in bed beside her and rest his head on her belly, just to feel their little one and to talk and sing to her as well. Maurice and Maria sang ALL THE TIME, there was very rarely a quiet moment in their home during the day, and that only escalated when they now had a little darling to sing to!! They also definitely noticed that certain songs made their little bird dance around more than others, which always made them laugh.

Funnily enough, they actually very much agreed that this baby would be a girl. No rhyme or reason to it, they just both had the same instinct, and it ended up being right. They would have been just as happy had they had a little boy, but for some reason they just knew that this first one would be a girl. They never even really discussed boy names - which is so funny to think about, if they had had a boy, the poor little guy probably would’ve been nameless for a few days while they tried to come up with something!

I actually have a bit of dialogue that is so very THEM that I just haven’t put anywhere yet. But when Maurice first comes in, seeing Maria holding their newborn baby, Maria says “Darling! Look, she’s here🥹” and Maurice is just so overcome with emotions and he says “It’s a girl?” because even though they had been referring to her as such this whole time, obviously they still didn’t REALLY know. But Maria tisks and says “Of course it’s a girl! We already knew that🙄” And Maurice just laughs and cries and goes to meet his daughter.

All throughout the pregnancy, they kept circling back to Annalise. They tossed around some family names, Maurice’s mother Henriette, Maria’s favorite sister Charlotte, but they always fell back to Annalise. They just loved the name, they thought it was so pretty and sweet. As the day drew near, they were all ready to name their baby girl Annalise. But then when she was born, Maria just kept calling her Belle. Ma petite Belle! Purely because she WAS such a little beauty, so it became her nickname. They called her sweetheart and angel and darling and all those other sweet words too, but they ultimately just kept calling her Belle. A couple days went by and they realized that they hadn’t called her Annalise ONCE. Belle sort of accidentally became her actual name lmao. So, a few more days later when they had her baptized, they put her name in the church records as Belle Annalise LaRue :”)

howdy hey, i was wondering what your thoughts on the new hunger games movie were? you made a post saying you were gonna see it, so idk if im too early and you havent yet, but was curious your thoughts on it :)

i really really liked it!!! i just got back from seeing it with my friends and we all agreed it was better than both mockingjay movies in our opinions! i hadn't read the book yet (i know i know i'm kicking myself too) so i was really worried they were going to try to portray snow as the type of person who had good intentions but was corrupted by the system, which would have been aggravating to watch considering the sheer number of children snow will murder throughout his life. i wouldn't have been able to enjoy myself if i knew they were trying to make me feel sorry for snow. instead, they make it clear that he always had his own interests in mind, and although he's fully capable of love, loyalty, and morality (and occasionally does act with those characteristics in mind), he chose to follow a darker path. i absolutely love that writing decision!

when my friend and i realized that snow and lucy gray were flirting we turned to each other and said "are they seriously doing this??" but i was soooo impressed with how they handled the romance and especially with where their relationship was when the movie ended. i mean, i really should have had faith because suzanne collins has never let me down in the "nuanced and uniquely fucked up romance" category before 😌 i honestly think part three (after the arena) was my favorite even though the vibe shifts so harshly it almost feels like it becomes a psychological thriller. i'm just so so relieved they were able to show the inherent humanity in snow WITHOUT being like "see? both sides are bad! all people can be monsters given the right circumstances! the genocidal maniac feels bad about his actions, but what could he have done to stop it? :(" you know what i mean? the narrative allows you to feel snow's emotions without ever using them as an excuse. most of the time his feelings are not even a reasoning for his actions – even when he feels bad about something he's done, he makes no attempt to change. in fact he seems to accept that he's gone too far, so it'll be easier to bury his emotions down deep so he can do even worse shit without feeling bad about it. god it was just so INTERESTING

from a technical standpoint it was less impressive tbh, the cinematography was nothing special (not ugly, just okay). lucy gray's actress was good but she really shined in the subtle facial expressions (such as her growing distrust for snow) and when she was performing on stage, but not so much in emotional outbursts. snow's actor was the opposite, he reallyyy shined during high emotion.

i'm not entirely sure how i feel about viola davis' or peter dinklage's characters. we've seen how superficial, ableist, and classist the capitol is, so i find it odd that two of the most powerful people are visibly disabled. it just doesn't track with who the capitol is. but then again, it also seems that in the early days of the capitol, everything is MUCH less flashy and ostentatious; people are still stuck up and classist, but it's a far cry from the absolute spectacle that the capitol and the games would become 60 years later. compare tigris in this movie to who she becomes later and the shifting culture becomes super obvious:

so if they were trying to show that the people in the capitol used to treat disabled people as equals but no longer do, as a sign of their decreasing sense of humanity and community, then i think it was effective. but i'm not sure if that was the intention, i'll have to look into it more

ANYWAY IT WAS REALLY GOOD!!! i wrote all of this as soon as i got home so i haven't had time to sit with it or anything. i'll post more if i think of anything else!

Puppet Show, by Avatar (every playlist has to have an Avatar song, such is the law) - because it's addressed to a "Puppet King" who likes control, and Donato can create and use clones as puppets + control other people, both physically and metaphorically + there's the whole thing about how he has to stay in control (:re 107 🙏)

The Emperor's New Clothes, by Panic! at the Disco - I know this probably means nothing to you but :re 084 (1st verse) and also the Clowns' raid (for most of the rest). His nickname among the Clowns is Crown. Also: "I'm all dressed up and naked": the clones situation. they're kagune material and therefore technically naked, but Donato manipulating them is all dressed up. Can also be applied to Souta but this is a Donato song. To me.

The Puppet Master, by King Diamond - again with the clones and puppets. It's not my fault his entire kagune is made of puppet master crosses. Also, last verse? :re 168 to 172, his fight with his son. "The show has come to an end, the master himself is on the stage with his children, the curtain must fall and then the puppets they are gone" it's the fight. it's the final battle, Donato is (seemingly) right there, with his son, he knows he has to end it so he goes. I am soooo sane about this man.
