#saw a post basically bashing someone for having their ‘only hobby’ being media consumption #and 1. what’s wrong with that being your only hobby? just because it might not make someone happy doesn’t mean it is inherently wrong? what #makes any other hobby better? media consumption comes with critical thinking and analysis on what you’re consuming at that moment #it also stimulates creative thinking which brings me to 2. they were also bashing on someone who countered the initial criticism by saying #something like ‘not true. i also create fanfic and fanart’ and they were still cutting this person down and looking down on them??? #fanfiction and fanart are a form of valid hobbies so what if it revolves around media someone likes like what the fuck #i’m so sick of people looking down on people who don’t live their life exactly how society thinks it should be lived #i watch tv and movies all the time. that doesn’t make me lazy or stupid or pathetic. it makes me a human who knows what i enjoy in life and #who lets myself enjoy and indulge in it #rant #i get too much shit about this from my brother to see it here too
