August is here and has brought some heavy autumn previous with late night fog, earlier sunsets and a light scent of autumn in the air as well as the first early red and yellow leaves on the ground. It feels exciting as there is so much to prepare now before our next winter here in our new cozy home in the valley. This autumn I really want to prepare the garden for the next growing season as I now feel like I know much better what to find where in the garden, which spots are more sunny and exposed as opposed to other more shady areas and which mistakes not to make again. I want to prepare some more veggie and flower beds, get a better understanding of how to compost and if there is time I want to build a simple greenhouse after the model of @theeverydaygreenhouse if there is no snow on the ground yet when I can start building. Andy saw the old beetle parked in line and all of a sudden, he remembered. “Hey, are you still thinking about Jane at times?”, he asked. “I do actually”, Peter replied. “In fact, there’s hardly a day that I don’t think about Jane.” “I wonder if she’s still living round here...” “It’s her car over there- she must still be living here somewhere … I haven’t seen her ever since we split up…” Hours later there was a note hanging in the windscreen of the very same beetle the boys had passed. Popped out for hot chocolate this afternoon to cheer this one up after she fell out of a tree at the end of a bike ride! Tbh it wasn’t the most successful bike ride despite the weather being amazing. Only after I had taken all of these photos and the sun had disappeared behind the horizon did I notice that I had some honeydew from the flowers smeared all over the lense. I started to get worried that it would have made them images less sharp, but instead they added this really beautiful blur and spread of the light to the photos, almost like a filter. This way the light looks exactly as it did in real life as well, which I sometimes find hard to get onto a photo, especially when the light is so soft and gentle. Even though time has again passed more quickly than I can realize I still remember the evening of these photos as if it was yesterday. Tord and I took a walk so I could take some photos in the meadows and Yeti decided to follow us. It was the longest he had ever walked with us and while I was taking pictures he and Tord were playing on the little forest road we walked on. When I was done, he didn't want to go home, but we got chased by mosquitoes so I ended up having to catch and carry him, which he only very reluctantly accepted. One time when I bent down to him my camera, that I had on my back like a shoulder bag, fell onto my arm, creating a bruise that was still visible 2 weeks later, but eventually after many chases and runs, a lot of carrying Yeti and countless mosquitobites we finally made it home. Help! I need some tips on where to get primula auricula, mointain cowslip or bear ears... whatever you want to call these delicate wild beauties. The yellow variety in this photo is litterally everywhere around here in the Jura and the Alps surrounding Geneva. The type if auricula I'm looking for is the coloured ones: brownish reddish.
