If you’ve ever wanted samples for some oldschool techno, this is it: an informational movie from 1962 introducing the Army to digital computers
“Is the computer a man-made monstrosity?”
“The method used here is digital”
A Kraftwerk-esque list “Science. Defense. Manufacturing. Business.”
“The action is electro-mechanical” as well as “the action here is completely electronic and automatic”
“You’ll hear a great deal of this in connection with digital computers.”

Madness, 1979: "One Step Beyond"
I really hope there's somebody out there following this blog specifically to find weird samples to put into their breakcore or mashups or neo-new-beat or whatever, because this is perfect for it: 1. some loony lads doing a capella ska, 2. a charming spoken word intro about how crazy the music is, 3. a proper second-wave ska instrumental
(Apologies to British followers to whom this might be well known, but trust me, it's not a famous track in the US outside classic ska fans, not sure about the rest of the world)

In case anyone is following this blog while making electronic music, I found a collection of hundreds of isolated percussion sounds from pretty much every Sega Genesis game, including the all-important "GO!" and "CMON!" voice effects from Sonic 3
EDIT: Just occured to me to check WhoSampled.com and it says both those samples were from "Peter Piper" by Run DMC--I hear the the GO at 1:57 but not sure about CMON

Ad for an interactive techno music and psychedelic pattern generator from 1995 (shared by @obscuritory a few years ago) with some intensely 90s ad copy as a woman explains:
"Some call it a cerebral overhaul. Others, hypnotic. Some still believe it's 50,000 volts of immediate gratification, while others dare whisper 'anarchy'..."

On the one hand I found a bunch of remastered cheesy pop songs from the "Jem & the Holograms" series, such as "Midsummer Nights Madness"
On the other hand if you know any collage musicians PLEASE make them aware of the bizarre delivery on this one of the line "Hi, everybody! We're here to sing you a story about the craziness of love!"

Just in case any of y’all are working on cyber synth dance needing samples about computers, check out this BBC report on the Information Super Highway from 1994.
It sounds pretty grand but it all comes down to computers communicating, and in fact it’s already happening on something called “the Internet”

Found an archive of basic beats and clips the producer released into the public domain. If you know of anything similar please reblog with a link, I need more

I’m not sure why YouTube is advertising me a compilation of a teacher making weird noises by drawing dotted lines on a chalkboard, but

Just found this in my inbox, a video titled “Worst Hold Music Ever?” I don’t know if it was a submission or what, but it deleted when I tried to queue it, and it’s a text link instead of a proper share because I think Tumblr is trying to protect y’all. Imagine loops of “Toxic” by Brittney Spears being covered by the jazz-bands that did the soundtracks for silent movie comedies, cut with walkie-talkie feedback, clown honks, and what it would sound like if flutes could scream. Fascinating stuff, guys, thanks

As much as I enjoyed Dankmus’ series of chillwave Simpsons remixes, they never used my favorite musical line, so I’m saving it here in case I ever manage to learn Garageband and/or Audacity to start my own noisecore
