I have been running our business out of tiny cramped spaces for over a decade.
This will be my last year in this little RV space!
For the past 2 years we have been working toward building a cabin on the property (photos will come eventually) and inside the cabin is an actual room for our work benches.
It is going to be surreal and bittersweet to say goodbye to this little space, but i am so excited to have more work room!
Something I discovered rather quickly was not all RVs come with all of your necessities.
You need a fresh water hose. This is to fill your fresh water tank or to connect to city water when you’re plugged in at a park. I purchased this bright blue 25 ft hose with a storage bag.
You need a sewer hose kit. Having a bag and a place to store it is really helpful on travel days. The Camco Rhino is considered a number one purchase among the RV community. The see through elbow at the end lets you know how your tanks are looking!
A water filter is a must! Cleaner water for dishes and hand washing and for showers. This is made specifically for RV hookups so I decided it seemed like a great option. It also claims to be for fresh drinking water but I purchased a separate filtered water contraption for that that I keep in the fridge so I can save money and not buy bottled water.
A dehumidifier is another important purchase, remember moisture is the enemy. RVs are not insulated like houses or apartments. I purchased a small table top one but I plan to buy a second one as well as some smaller rechargeable ones for spaces that don’t get a lot of airflow.
RV showers don’t always have a lot of space. Nor do they come with decent shower heads. The first few things I picked up the day I signed my papers was tank treatment packs, RV safe toilet paper, and a new shower head! You can’t just attach any shower head to the RV shower. It needs to be specifically made for an RV but you can get a nice one! While we’re discussing space, the built in corner shelves are a nice start but I also purchased this inexpensive shower caddy that comes in a pack of two with a long super heavy duty sticky strip that they hook on to. And a eucalyptus plant because I’m a little boujee. Lol Obviously this isn’t really a necessity. But I figured this was a good post to share it with!
Another purchase I made for the RV, this slim laundry basket. I’ve used this one before and it actually holds a decent amount of laundry!
I have pets that will be living full time in the RV with me. In case of an emergency where I was not home, I wanted someone to know that they were in there so they could hopefully be brought to safety! These decals are now posted on four of my windows and they’re easily placed and easily removed!
The last two items that I bought for the RV and two of my favorites, adhesive paper towel and toilet paper roll holders! They stick on to the surfaces in the RV and saves counter space and floor space!
Out in the wild off grid. Becoming one with nature. Showering next to my overland camper. Cleaning my dirty mouth hehe 😬 it’s true, I swear like a sailor.
