Oh my god @ the Russian cover of Rumo

There is so little in this picture but also So Much.

I don't know if Rumo is tiny or if Ticktack is just a Huge As Fuck guy? And Ticktack is decisively human as well, giving HUGE Doctor Doom vibes? This is clearly meant to be the final fight between them in the Theatre of Beautiful Death with the sparks and the blue rain, but it also looks like a meadow on the ground with some volcanoes in the background?

And while I have questions, I also have a huge amount of respect for this because it looks amazing, even though the original cover and all versions with Moers's art are perfect to me.

Shoutout to each and every person that loves Zamonia/Zamonien books on this site omg. I want to talk about them!! Especially if you’re german (sorry to the English speakers but I read them in German bc it’s my native language so all the character names, made up words etc. are more familiar to me in the language!)!! Hmu if you’d like, Rumo is literally my favorite book of all time so I love talking about that one in particular but all of them are fantastic.

Hi there! I’m finally getting around to answering your lovely ask.

Mein allerliebster Lieblingsmoment in Rumo ist der Abschnitt über Wolperting. Jedes einzelne mal freue ich mich wie ein Honigkuchenpferd darauf, dass Urs auftritt (ich hätte wohl eigentlich Urs als Comfort-Character angeben sollen...). Ich liebe die Szene in der Schule und zu was für einem Deppen sich Rumo gegenüber Rala macht! Ich liebe wie gemütlich Wolperting beschrieben wird, wie wir endlich andere Wolpertinger kennen lernen und wie das normale Leben in Wolperting beschrieben wird. Ich liebe Uschan DeLucca und sein Fechtparadies und ich liebe den Jahrmarkt und Urs’ Vorliebe für gutes Essen. Aber am allermeisten liebe ich die Schreinerei von Ornt La Okro. Ich hätte fast eine Schreinerausbildung deswegen angefangen. Der geht so liebevoll mit Rumo um und ist einfach super sweet. Ornt ist so ein toller Charakter und es bricht mir jedes mal das Herz wenn er die Arena betritt.

Ansonsten bin ich ja ein großer Fan von Volzotan Smeik und von Grinzold und Löwenzahn. Natürlich liebe ich auch Rala über alles, aber Urs ist und bleibt der liebste, knuddeligste und coolste Nebencharakter in Rumo!

Do tell me about you favourite part(s)! There is only one more thing to add: Dirk Bach is an absolute genius and even though Andreas Fröhlich is a worthy successor, Zamonien will always sound like Dirk Bach to me <3
