So I'm seeing some folks are interested in my nurse Karnak AU! I've been filling in on a lot of day shifts lately so I haven't had as much time to sit down and draw but here are some ideas I've had because yes I do intend to write this, I feel it would be too fun to pass up:

Penny is in really bad shape. Ricky, now very much attached to her, wants to see her but knows he's likely to get shooed away if seen entering her room. Mischa causes a big scene to create a distraction so Ricky can visit with Penny because Mischa is a total bro (Ricky resolves he'll just be super super careful)

I've been asked what the deal with Virgil is and quite honestly I'm not sure I'm imaginative enough to think of some role for him here that isn't pure unadulterated nonsense. However my experience as a nurse is that many of us can't stand our companies' charting software so like what if "Virgil" is the name of the hospital's documentation system. Noel hears Karnak mutter "you're killing me, Virgil" under his breath when his computer crashes yet again, goes completely apeshit and tells all the others. This incident is then recorded in the "this nurse is the robot genie looking guy from purgatory" evidence files

Karnak is giving me seasoned RN vibes like he freaking runs this place

Gotta research roller coaster injuries for this, unsure what exactly would have happened to everyone

heres EVERYONE in a beautiful big post (with all my design notes rambles and reasonings) for your (and my) reblogging pleasure

From left to right top row then bottom row

Jane Doe: the biggest notes i have on Jane is that her bubble braids are inspired by @/lauren-t-lampe 's Jane Doe, she's so freaking cute. i like to think my jane is very baby jane

Mischa Bachinski: i didnt really have a plan for mischa other than well mullet so heres the ukrainian bad boy in all his glory

Noel Gruber: noel is extremely gender, i wanted him to be the tallest out of everyone because why not.

Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg: i gave her glasses cause i feel like she'd constantly push them up before saying "um acshually.." I always see Ocean as Asexual tbh

Ricky Potts: Nothing much here, i guess i just wanted to give him glasses. it was my first time drawing crutches so i'm always going to try to improve on them

Constance Blackwood: i wanted to make her chubbier than the others like in the 2016 slime tut, but it's definitely something i have to work on improving imo. i feel like if she had more confidence in herself she'd wear the stickers on her face all the time

Penny Lamb: main reason for the short hair? i wanted to be unique since i always see penny with braids and also i gave Jane bubble braids and i kind of wanted to seperate the designs. lesser reason? dont come for me but alice from twilights hair is cool af (tysm to @/cam-stopped-eating-candles for the explaination on penny's hair in legoland!)

(Na)Talia: screw you she's real and i love her. had a lot of free reign since the only detail Mischa mentions is her hair (which i had to google lol). Talia is my absolute favourite rtc song so i wanted to keep the flowey skirts from the 2016 choreography but gave her a bit of an edge because she canonically listens to (and presumably enjoys) rap

Vergil: he's a lil rat in a t-shirt

Monique Gibeou: no notes on this design no need to change anything imo UwU

Space Age Bachelor Man: i like to think what he wears is covered in sparkles and the glitter on his face is a nice touch. I wanted to make something on him colourful so i made the hair/tail colourful uwu

The Amazing Karnak: still a bit....eh on his design but i'm liking it a lot more after sleeping on it. love his coat the most

and thats all of them!! i really want to make keychains/stickers one day so if you have ideas for it let me know! :3

Ok. so.

Here’s my Jane Doe isn’t real theory<3

Apologies in advance because this is all over the place

First and foremost:

Karnak read the entire choir's hopes, thoughts, and dreams. The man knew everything about them down to their deepest secrets and you're saying that none of them even so much as had a passing thought about this “last-minute addition to the choir”?

You know Ocean's micromanaging ass would be all over that.

Plus Jane is nowhere to be seen in Fall Fair Suit, You’d think at the very least theird be a gap in the choreography where the 6th member of the choir should be but no.

So then how did “Jane Doe” come about?

I think there was a misprint in the newspaper. We already saw in the 2016 Chicago production that there was a misprint in the way that she was blotched out of the photo, so who’s to say it wasn’t supposed to originally just read “our 5 saints' “.

So now imagine you're in a small town that just went through a horrible tragedy and now the papers are telling you that it was actually 6 children who died. Not the 5 you knew. So who was this 6th kid? How did nobody know about them? And why are you only now hearing about them? Naturally, people are going to start to speculate and make up rumors

(Her story literary sounds like an urban legend your bother tells you to scare the shit out of you before you co to the fair)

Nobody was able to identify her because she was decapitated (how tf do you not find a whole ass head). No parents stepped forward to say their kid was missing or to claim the body. And the only person who would've known for certain, Father Markus, died of a heart attack 7 hr after the fact.

There are even inconsistencies in it. Karnak says himself “Some say she joined the choir at the last minute, others say she was never even in the choir at all”.

I think Karnak continued to read people's fortunes and learned about the rumor of a Jane Doe through them and just assumed they were true. Karnak probably assumed he just didn’t read this mystery 6th kid fortune and that's why he didn't know about her.

Flash forward to when Karnak's bringing the choir into temporary limbo. He gets the main 5s souls easily enough but the 6th? How do you bring back the soul of a girl that doesn't exist? You can’t, but you can unknowingly bring back some weird ass creature that’s been chilling around the carnival.

And so Karnak unknowingly created a Jane Doe, gave it a body in a stcassinas uniform, without a proper head that she had to substitute with a doll's head, Scripted her story and song based off of the little he knew, and bam. We got our Jane Doe, a girl with no clue what’s going on besides what Karnak scripted with a bunch of kids she doesn't know, and is left to figure out what’s going on right along with us.

Right off the bat the choir knows somethings wrong with their “mystery contestant” to the point that ocean straight up calls her a freaky monster and refers to her a a “thing”

She has the head of the doll( obviously), and she moves and walks like she’s never been in a body before. Her voice has an echo/ sounds almost disconnected from her body. And she flies around in her song and in the ESU production she even just straight up had a moment of telekinesis.

Meanwhile, The wildest thing about the choir is that Ricky can speak/ his disabilities are lessened

Tldr the choir accidentally chose some creature to be brought to life as some weird teenager named Penny lamb

I joined a RTC roleplay server and this is all the art I made for them!! If you’re wondering why there’s so many Ocean art, that’s because I’m Ocean!

For context, I drew Monique unintentionally and I guess she turned out less messy?

Then the little Ocean drawings were based on my call with the ppl who played Karnak, Mischa, Noel and Ricky, where we decided to voice act as our characters ( 2016 script ) XD Noel and Mischa were gay.

The one with Karnak was based on a three person roleplay where Ocean, Mischa, Virgil and Karnak became friends.

Trans masc Mischa 🤝 Trans fem Ocean ( confirmed by us both ), who are also scared of heights .

A funny situation where said four are on a shopping trip.

FUCKING ANGST CREATED BY BOTH MISCHA AND KARNAK. I CRIED.

Lastly, we all played UNO on a call and fucking lost to Karnak ( I won once ) Karnak was being ominous and shi XD

I love them all though /aff

Karnak was super cool ( but horrifying in said game of Uno )

Noel: I thought oxygen had that double bond with the hydrogen twins. Ocean: Looks like someone's a HO. Mischa: NaBrO. Karnak: I'm done with all of you!

Mischa: Noel, what do IDK, LY, and TTYL mean? Noel: I don’t know, love you, talk to you later Mischa: Ok, I love you too, I’ll just ask Ocean.
