Hey, pal. This question stems from me watching something but... but did trool!Mira get enrolled in a finishing school? If so, what was it like? Or if not, how would she have handled that environment? - ✨ Enc

Hi friend! I have a fun little backstory bit to share!

Trool!Mira did not go to finishing school, but RS2!Mira was sent there because her parents thought she was "acting out" — i.e., challenging their values and their goals for her.

It wasn't actually a bad experience even though she got scolded a few times for, once again, challenging certain "rules"... and she didn't like the restrictions, but she didn't take it all too seriously in the first place. She grew up somewhat in the public eye and already had lessons in various types of etiquette so it wasn't much new. She did get bored though.

She ended up getting sent back home after a brief period because she kissed a girl or two and then sassed the headmistress loll. Her defense: "With all due respect, ma'am, if the primary aim of us being here is to prepare us for husbands, there ought to be male students. As there are none, I believe it's only fair and practical for us girls to practice with each other."

The headmistress was embarrassed and outraged because she perceived Mira's response as an implication that the school was teaching and encouraging enthusiastic physical intimacy. 😂

Brian and Maud lived uptown in a house they barely occupied except to host parties for their rich friends. Their lifestyle afforded Mira many luxuries and privileges, but they hadn't raised her so much as they paraded her as a token of their generosity and goodwill to show off to the other WASP conservatives in a weird and creepy self-congratulatory flex. At eighteen, Mira decided to look for her birth parents and found some cousins online whom she contacted and, by way of their help, was able to connect with her birth father. She'd asked Brian and Maud if she could visit Altan in Istanbul, and they flat-out refused. She'd have to attend university, they told her, or else lose her allowance and car. Brian wanted her to study politics but quickly realized her values did not align with his when she expressed her disapproval towards his "solution to the homeless problem" (his words), which involved displacing people by implementing new policies and police presence. He'd called it a childish outburst and had even blamed his wife for failing to provide Mira with the lessons she needed to become an acceptable demure trophy wife to one of several bachelors he'd had in mind for her since she was sixteen.

I really like how in the og story Mira was pollotarian and now a million years later in the new stories that hasn't changed its like coming home to a long lost love. she would not be allowed at my family's dinners.
