speaking of wanting to cause rodimus distress and discomfort... do you have any thoughts on getarod?

yES! I! DO!

Okay so first off i want to preface this with I am a toxic yaoi enjoyer, i am not glamorizing or glorifying toxic or unhealthy relationships.

HOWEVER.

getarod is sexy. and getarod is toxic. and getarod is VERY fun.

All of these takes are under the pretense of them having a rocky, toxic, but mutually beneficial situationship in which rodimus is in it for sex and getaway is in it for perceived power.

Rodimus wants to get fragged, Getaway wants to take Rodimus down a peg. In my mind Getaway has a horrifically bad sadistic streak, and Rodimus is a masochist(he has to be out of survival because he fucks up all the goddamn time), and while Getaway WANTS to actually kill rodimus, he's willing to settle for humiliating him and 'gathering blackmail'

Sadly. Getaway is the one who accidentally gets some uncomfortable feelings in the mix. Because hate is a very strong emotion. And getaway HATES rodimus SO MUCH it makes him crazy. It stops being a matter of 'i'm gonna humiliate rodimus for fun' it becomes a matter of 'IT IS A FUCKING IMPERATIVE THAT I CRUSH THIS MAN INTO THE DIRT' which starts feeling strangely like Getaway kinda likes having sex with rodimus without ulterior motives, and so he HATES HIM EVEN HARDER.

Rodimus, on the other hand, is basically playing chicken with getaway. in his mind, he's just in it for sex, and is annoyed that he keeps ending up as the bottom during the aforementioned sex, and even more annoyed at how much freak shit getaway is into. because rodimus SHOULDNT be into that. but he is. and its getaway that's getting him into that. which is infuriating.

I think they're into almost all of the same things, but Getaway goes to further extremes than Rodimus. and rodimus has too much pride to tap out. and thus, game of sex chicken. Rodimus won't tap out, Getaway won't stop fucking with him, it is a race to the bottom that inevitably always ends a little something like this.

and then they don't talk to each other for a week. and then it's the wee hours of the morning again, and they're both awake, and they just can't help themselves >:]

So yeah! TLDR: rodimus and getaway are playing gay chicken but for sadomasochistic mutually beneficial hatesex, getaway is way more invested in the whole deal. it makes him really fucking angry though.

i dont like the majority of the tf fandom on tumblr so ive not really been in it. Mostly because of the discourse. I can’t even think of what it is but so much of it is so grossly overexaggerated.

maybe people talking about milne being ~eeeeeeevil~ for drawing problematic ships? like.. i heard someone pulling reciepts on twitter about him having drawn rodimus/getaway. and like. one sided rodiway is SUCH a good ship, shut up, and also the dude’s just making fucking money. leave him alone. if you must criticize someone for that, criticize the commissioner.

and even then like. okay im gonna talk about this ship then i guess

rodiway isnt a bad ship! its an abusive ship, sure, but the potential really is there. Getaway’s obsession with Rodimus isn’t healthy, and I’d say its blurring the lines between purely hatred and almost putting him up on a pedestal- the same kind of dynamic Megatron and Optimus Prime often have, and i don’t think anyone’s crucifying megop stans for that. Furthermore, Rodimus also shapes a lot of his life after the Necroworld thing around Getaway, and the way he didn’t let him kill himself with the fire could also be seen as a shippy thing. So they do have this dual hatred-based attraction to one another, and you know what? that’s actually a really fun fucking dynamic! I like it one-sided, where getaway is like “ugh i fucking hate you WHY are you attractive UGH” and Rodimus cannot be bothered to feel anything but burning distaste for him, but either way i happen to think it’s a ship that makes sense from a more detached point of view and isn’t even that bad once you get into it. Neither of them are really like… they hate each other, but they don’t belittle one another, and i find that sort of respect between enemies to be an important part of any (im gonna say this without a trace of shame, and i actually recommend taking it into any other villain/hero ships to describe the sort of hate-with-respect relationship i personally like and know many others do to) kismesis-like relationship that i’m going to ship.

now i don’t personally care much about rodiway because i don’t like rodimus very much and I don’t like getaway at all. but to crucify an artist for drawing rodimus/getaway art is going pretty fucking far. and i don’t enjoy when people police ships whatsoever, because newsflash: they’re not fucking hurting anyone.

Feel free to debate this with me! But please know that you’re not going to change my mind with little soundbytes like ‘the jaws effect’ because this is not the same thing whatsoever and i will judge you if you pull that.

So. Yknow those mechpreg fics where the sire's coding can sometimes be "overwritten" by enough transfluid from other mechs, to the point where the baby takes after the new sire?

Rodiway accident baby au where Roddy discovers he's sparked post-mutiny, and tries to cover it up by throwing himself at Thunderclash('s spike) >:3

He and Getaway were having a (supremely unhealthy but he thought it was kinky) fling right before the mutiny, and he catches the pregnancy while its still early. Rodimus... does want the baby, but does not want it to get out that he was fucking Getaway

The easiest way to hide that is to make sure there's an "obvious" sire. And do yall know what two bots happen to share a white, blue, and red paint scheme, with bronze faceplates? That would make it very easy to hide who the original sire was, even if the overwrite doesn't take?

I'm... honestly, not particularly into Roddy tricking Thunders into thinking it's his baby. Also, Thunderclash is very moral, and wouldn't spread it around if he knew Rodimus was sparked. So Roddy takes a risk and goes up to Thunders like, "Hi I'm pregnant. I don't want the sire to be involved. How would you feel about being my baby daddy?"

After Thunderclash's head is done exploding, and he's checked his reality matrices thrice to make sure this isn't a dream, he agrees with enthusiasm. He also takes up his duties as a sire with even more "enthusiasm." With the amount of transfluid he contributes, it will be an act of Primus if the baby doesn't look like him

Exactly how much Rodimus was/is romantically interested in either of these dudes is something I'm still debating over, but he definitely gets more affectionate with Thunderclash as the baby grows. Whether that's his own feelings or the carrier coding is something he's trying to figure out too...

This is ×1000 better if it's a Getaway isn't eaten by the scraplets au. He's stuck in the brig and trying to get gossip from the visitors because he's desperately bored when he hears that Thunderclash(!) got Rodimus(!?!!?!) sparked, and he knows immediately that something's off. Like, he and Rodimus were fucking for a decent amount of time, he knows Roddy doesn't like Thunderclash. Maybe he doesn't quite put it together, but he's absolutely suspicious...
