What if the zombie hand in the new season 7 opening scene was actually apocalypse Jerry???
Tumblr media
Look at the similarities in the terrain.
Tumblr media
It would also explain why Morty looks so horrified while Rick is totally excited. Imagine having another Jerry be part of the family. I mean, why not! We already have two Beths! Plus, reviving apocalypse Jerry could result in critical information about Rick Prime's whereabouts.

I just realized that when Rick Prime forced/manipulated the Ricks who were trying to kill him into fighting each other, he wasn't just taunting and humiliating them.
He was actively turning them against one another so that none of them would be left alive to go after him.
Tumblr media
The trick to surviving this really was to work together. Rick C-137 was right on the money.
Tumblr media
And Rick Prime killed Diane to hurt all those Ricks because said Ricks dared to... "act like they were better [than Rick Prime]".
Tumblr media
And later the following exchange occurred:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Which is shortly afterwards followed by Rick Prime saying this to Rick C-137:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...I can't believe I ever thought that Rick Prime said this because he was scared of dying and wanted to find a chance to escape.
Tumblr media
Please watch out, Evil Morty. Please, please, please.

the reveal in unmortricken that universes outside the central finite curve are just... inventing interdimensional travel all the fucking time is absolutely insane. like we know the central finite curve is just a tower the ricks built to place themselves forever on top, but the sheer number of people who have invented portal travel in other universes is completely mindblowing to me. all the portals are different styles, different colours - are these all different inventors across different collections of dimensions? it's unregulated, it's rick-free, it's only shown for like 30 seconds throughout the episode, and it's not even mentioned. i know we already know this, but rick sanchez really isn't the unique genius he pretends himself to be.

Prickcest Speculation Masterpost
I wanted to gather together all of the little screenshots, gifs and hypothesises surrounding C-137's backstory, particularly in relation to Rick Prime
Comparisons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the left is the Season 3 Deceptive memory that our Rick used to trick the federation. On the right is the scene from the memory Morty sees when he opens Rick's downloaded brain in season 5. Both are screenshots of C-137's final line before Prime leaves. In S3, C-137 says "A different kind of Rick, I guess" and in S5, we don't know what he's saying
C-137 looks very sad in the S5 memory. Prime's face looks stunned, rather than angry. If they had a previous relationship, we can guess that maybe C-137 is cutting Prime off in this scene or 'breaking up' with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the left is the S3 screenshot and the right is S5. Both show Prime holding the portal gun out to C-137
In the S3 memory, it's shown to be the apparent first time C-137 has seen inter-reality technology like this. When Prime enters at all in this memory, C-137 looks completely shocked. In S5, Rick doesn't look taken off guard or surprised at all. This implies it wasn't the first time he'd seen the technology and the conversation wasn't likely centered around the creation and usage of it. Maybe Prime was offering to take C-137 with him on his travelling of the multiverse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left is S3, right is S5. Both are the scene where Prime is walking away.
While not as significant as the other differences, we can see that C-137 doesn't turn to look at Prime while he's leaving in S5. He doesn't need to watch as he walks away because he's seen the portal tech before, or maybe he can't bare to watch him leave.
Lines
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rick Prime talks about not teaming up anymore when talking to hermit Jerry in S6E1. In S6E10, C-137 goes on a rant to Morty about how when you let people in they stop respecting you and "kill your family". It's implied that Prime is the one who dropped the bomb that killed C-137's family, and it's what C-137 himself assumes, so he's clearly talking about Prime. This means that he and Prime definitely knew each other before the inciting incident, otherwise what C-137 says doesn't make sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In S6E1, we see a hologram C-137 used to help identify Prime in his search of revenge. We see this small clip matches up with what we see in S3. We do see that Prime says "Ricks don't pass on this", however we dont hear the rest of the conversation, so we don't know if it's actually about accepting portal travel or that it was the first time these two met.
Parallels
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that it is confirmed that C-137 was in love with Birdperson. We can see from Rick's memory of the Battle of Bloodridge, his argument with Bird Person very clearly parallels his falling out Prime, with both holding out a portal gun and then one leaving through a portal. This could imply there was a romantic or sexual connection between the two of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also see a parallel between Space Beth + Domestic Beth and Rick Prime + C-137. Domestic Beth and Space Beth fall in love with each other. Domestic Beth doesn't do any grand adventures, she's a horse surgeon and has a family, like C-137 did. Space Beth had adventures and travelled the universe, like Prime did.
Tumblr media
In Bethic Twinstinct, Space Beth says "You're the housewife, and I'm the space lady, and yet you're the one who chewed me up and spit me out?"
As I mentioned earlier, if we assume based off the body language in the season 5 memory that C-137 was most breaking things off with Prime. So Prime was also 'chewed up and spit out' despite being the epic space adventurer and not the family guy.
Beth also asks C-137 if he's "forgotten the ice cream before" (had relations with another version of himself), and he says "drill me for details when I'm drunker". Which, to me, implies he very much has.
The fact that rickcest was confirmed with this line in the same season we see C-137's "they kill your fucking family" line and Prime's "I don't team up anymore" line seems to be foreshadowing something.
Other Ideas
The "Cult" One
I first heard of this one in this video
youtube
Lonny proposes the idea that Prime was in fact going around and giving Ricks portal technology in order to recruit them into joining a group of Ricks. They points to Prime mentioning he specifically MANAGED people ("managing people is such a headache"), which implies a group of people.
They also bring up the wall of Ricks we see in the S5 flashback that C-137 uses to find more Ricks to kill. It may have been Prime's little cult following.
Tumblr media
It doesn't explain a lot of the stuff that implies a previous relationship with C-137, so I believe that the two ideas probably go hand in hand.
It's also worth pointing out that the wall of Ricks has what appears to be a citadel symbol. The only thing is, C-137 is apparently one of the founders of the Citadel, but we see him kill a large gathering of Ricks, and we see this citadel symbol pre-citadel.
I am literally only realizing this as I'm writing this post, so I don't have a put together idea of what it may mean. I think it's possible that maybe Evil Morty was involved in that original Rick Cult, because I don't think that symbol became the Citadel's until after he was elected. That's off the top of my head, though.
The "Time Travel" One
This one isn't one with much backing, however I think it's neat. Credit for this one goes to this Tumblr post.
This person suggested that maybe the reason C-137 hates time travel so much is because Prime might've lied and said he was C-137 from the future. He hates it because it was used to manipulate him
Misc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In S6E10, we briefly see a hologram of Prime that doesn't match with any footage we've seen of him before.
I don't have any clever comments about how this could fit into prickcest as I'm writing, but I would like to include it in case someone else has something to say about it.
My Personal Ideas
My take away from all the evidence I've presented has lead to my current idea of events:
Prime and C-137 had a healthy, romantic relationship. However, with C-137's wife and daughter, guilt started to eat away. He tried to talk to Prime about it and Prime's response was "run away with me and travel the multiverse" and C-137 just couldn't bare the thought of abandoning his family, so he broke things off with Prime. Prime was upset, "Rick's dont pass on" the opportunity to travel the infinite cosmos. "Rick's don't pass on" the opportunity to be with someone they love.
I hope you found this post to be comprehensive, and please PLEASE add on stuff in the notes!! We need to gather evidence! /lh

Rick and Morty Finale Theory’s/Predictions
inspired by posts by @fear-no-mort please check them out!!
The Freaky Morty Theory
The Freaky Morty Theory is that at some point either during or after episode 5, Evil Morty switched places with Morty Prime. There are some actual bases for this, and users have been collecting a decent amount of possible evidence for this reveal!
- Morty acting almost pre-season 4, like a Morty that hasn’t properly interacted with a Rick in a while
-Flinching significantly more then usual. In a flashback it implies Evil Mortys Rick was abusive which checks out
-the smug look. Don’t get me wrong Morty also has a chronic resting bitch face and smug I told you so look, but it has been a lot more prominent in the last couple of episodes
There’s a lot more to this but the basis is somehow they switched, and the season finale would be the time for the reveal.
If you are interested, @sadiecoocoo and @glitteringcrab have much more in-depth stuff about it!
personally, I want this theory to be true. It opens a lot of doors and would be a fantastic cliffhanger and segway to a more Morty-oriented episode or season.
Ricks Deepest Fears
His Fear Of Morty
Ok, so there are a lot of ways this can go. But here's in my opinion the most likely avenue;
Rick would absolutely never admit it, but part of Morty scares him. We see it on his face during the Purge episode, and more frequently during the last few seasons. But I think the reason he dogs on Morty and tries to keep his confidence low is because Rick knows how dangerous he can be when motivated enough. Morty is more aware than most and Rick picks up on that. He is scared one day Morty will grow up to be like him, bitter and angry. He sees it in him now and can't blame anyone else. Now with everything with Prime, I think Rick fears Morty will grow up not just like him, but like Rick Prime specifically. He'll get angry and lash out, do something drastic in revenge for all the ways Rick has wronged Morty throughout the years. Morty will realize what he's capable of and leave, and Rick couldn't really blame him.
His fear of Rick Prime
This one is probably what's gonna happen. Since Rick definitely didnt get closure from killing Prime, this could be his chance. To get over his fear of Rick Prime, of what he represents and what he is capable of. This episode might be his chance to a means to an end.
His fear of losing everyone else
Another huge one would be his fear of the Smith family dying the same way his family did. Rick has kind of detached himself but it’s no secret that he cares. He’s especially fond of the version of the Smiths he lives with now. Even admitting Summer reminds him of Diane. To lose them would absolutely devastate him. Maybe this episode will be him trying to finally heal from his fear of losing everything all over again and being alone.
Mortys Deepest Fears
His fear that Rick will kill him too.
Now I know how this sounds, but I thought, that would be interesting to see if one of Morty's fears is that Rick C-137 tries to kill him. Now I know that sounds out of character since WE know Rick would never but think about it, it’s not said but almost implied he probably could have fixed the prime universe from being Cronenberg but chose not to because it wasn’t his family, it was Primes. And I think Morty is smart enough to figure that out once he found out Prime was really his Rick.
He also compared Morty to his biological Rick multiple times, then basically beat his biological Rick to death with Morty to practically witness it. Now obviously Morty doesn’t blame Rick for hating Rick Prime and frankly Morty doesn’t seem to like Rick Prime either. But subconsciously I wonder if he thinks he’s the last strand, that Rick will one day finish what he started. it’s pretty clear C-137 would absolutely never actually kill him, but could you imagine him finding out Morty fears him
His fear of being alone
Morty has become detached in the past few seasons, and you can’t really blame him. His own Jerry seemed to get frustrated when he offered to get him a “new” Beth and Summer. Like they were toys he could just swap out. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care. He does. He defends Summer and his parents. His love is like a dog, it’s unconditional so no matter what he still loves Rick even after everything he put him through. So he was angry and upset when he left. Even afterwards, when Summer brought up”The Crow Thing” Morty got visibly upset. He even tried to manipulate Rick to come back. If a representation of that comes up, this could be a chance for him to give faith to Rick and his family that he won’t be left behind.

if it makes you freaky morty truthers feel any better, in the poster morty has “blood” on his cut shirt, and we see them in a similar pose in the actual episode (it’s also in the last episode but whatever) with no blood on him. if you need a refresher, evil morty is the one who actual got shot and actually has that shirt and injury, not prime Morty.

RNM writers like the opposite of enemies to lovers trope. They said we're gonna make a man that turns his lovers into enemies. Rick Sanchez is like "we're gonna fuck and later on I will develop an intense desire to terrorize your life"

Is Prime's arc really over?
I mean, he's dead alright, no doubt in that, and tbh I sort of hope that he will not be brought back to life. But. BUT.
This is a long ass rant. If you open it, it's on you.
Even in the last confrontation between Prime and C-137 we didn't really get any solid confirmations of Prime and C-137 origin story. We know they've met, we know Prime showed C-137 "infinity" (in his own words) and killed C-137's family, which resulted into C-137 trying to hunt him down, but except those facts confirmed and explained in s6ep1, s7ep3, s7ep5, nothing else was. Not the real meaning of their conversation in the garage, not even the fact of this garage meet-up being the first time they've met, and also not the meaning of Prime's words that he misses it when there were only two of them.
Both Mortys seem to buy everything Evil Morty extracted from C-137's memories (Evil Morty is confident in his tech and Prime Morty is just like that lol), but can we really trust that those memories are intact? What if, just like with Federation, Rick kept main points of events, but changed the details or timeline, that can potentially flip the meaning or change the tone of said events?
The most confusing part in relation to the timeline for me is Prime's slips during his rants: "I do miss when it was just us. The only two Rick's who actually invented portal travel", especially combined with "I showed you infinity".
It makes sense in two possible situations: if Prime showed C-137 the portal tech ("showed you infinity"), offered it, was rejected, left, killed his family and then was actively fucking with C-137 during the first hunt (which can explain the "miss when it was just us" line) OR if Prime showed him the portal tech, C-137, being inspired, also invented the portal travel, and then he and Prime were on friendly terms for some time after that, travelling together or each on their own with random meet-ups, until Prime offered him something else, which C-137 declined. Then everything else followed.
And honestly? IMO, first option doesn't line up. We never saw clones or decoys of Prime during C-137's first hunt in the crybaby backstory, no mocking images of Diane, nothing that could possibly indicate that Prime was actively playing with him. We also see other Ricks owning portal technology during young C-137's run, so there already weren't "just two of us", only in the very beginning maybe. Prime obviously watched C-137 to keep track on him and his whereabouts and shenanigans, but we don't see him making any moves himself, interacting with C-137 in any way. So what's there to miss at all?
Let's look at the second option. What's really interesting about it is how Prime's words "I showed you infinity" can be interpreted in two ways that are not mutually exclusive - as in showing interdimensional travel or showing something entirely else, possibly even bigger. Like something that was supposed to create "Infinite Rick, a GOD", which was mentioned in the 'falce' memory in 03x01 together with another interesting line: "Once we give you this technology, you become the smartest man in the universe". Since we know that Rick uses his own memories to fool people, it's entirely possible that these lines are real, they sound real, like something Prime could say. But.
But how simply owning a technology makes you the smartest man in the universe? The answer is - it doesn't. You just own it. You don't become smarter because you get your hands on a sci-fi tech, unless it alters your own mind/brain to make you smarter, and portal travel doesn't work like that.
This is just a theory based on the altered memory of Rick C-137, but what if Rick Prime wasn't just giving out portal tech, but was actively doing almost the same thing Evil Morty have done - absorbing every possible knowledge of every Rick he encountered, maybe connecting them in some kind of a web instead of killing them, so he could cover his presence not using a Morty, but creating virtual clones of himself everywhere in all those Ricks? Maybe that's what he was tempting C-137 with - infinite knowledge of infinite Rick. Unite every single one of them, make them bigger than the universe, make them THE GOD in every sense possible.
Only that it can cost you everything. Cost you your humanity. Change you ultimately, make you so much above any other being, that it will eventually sound lonely. So Rick C-137 declined.
It's just a random ass theory. But how does it sound?

RICK AND MORTY S7 PREDICTIONS/THEORIES
(of varying likelihood; i wouldn't bet on a few of these)
1+ summer-centric episodes
rick/rick prime relationship is ambiguously romantic but not explicitly romantic
rick's family wasn't actually killed by rick prime; we don't explicitly see him drop the bomb-thing in the flashback to their death. perhaps it was orchestrated by someone who wanted rick to build the citadel or to do something he otherwise wouldn't have if his family had survived? rick would be really really devastated by this, i think.
rick prime intended to kill rick rather than his family; doesn't really care about it, though.
rick prime is rick c137 from the future? points against would be that they go to separate realities when the portal fluid is reset; could this be explained by time travel somehow creating new dimensions? i don't knowwwww i just had a dream about this onetime so i though i'd say it anyhow
morty gets terrorised by birdpersons kid haha
mr poopybutthole evil arc
morty discovers that some of him never left roy
morty temporarily sides with prime out of rage towards rick c137's abuses over the years; leaving his family behind in og reality, dragging him along on adventures, near-death experiences, leaving marta in the roy game, vat of acid.
rick cooks that spaghetti himself
epic final battle scene w main cast; kinda avengers-style.

Anybody else think that our Rick is either going to end up being Rick Prime or is going to have to use The Omega Device to wipe himself out across all realities?
but hey. That’s just a theory.

GUYS GUYS GUYS
I just realized something?! So a lot of us are thinking that C-137 and Prime were in a relationship, rather than Prime showing up for the first time when he killed our ricks family, right?
Here's the season 3 fake memory, while Rick says "a different kind of Rick, I guess", which is the last line before Prime leaves through a portal, right?
Tumblr media
Now here's that same moment (last c-137 line before Prime leaves, tho we don't hear it) in the season 5 brain download. Rick is not smiling, he looks like he's saying some bad news, and Prime doesn't have a "who do u think u r" expression, he has a surprised expression
Tumblr media
I believe this proves that the conversation that took place was COMPLETELY different from the deceptive one! Which supports this theory!!!!
Additional screenshot comparisons below
Prime showing the portal gun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, season 3 has Rick looking surprised, he's never seen the device before. In season 5, he seems familiar with the technology. And annoyed, like Prime was offering to bring him somewhere. Something like "c'mon, forget ur family, we can just get away from here"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, Prime is leaving. These ones are way more similar. Rick doesn't actually turn to watch Prime leaving like in the deception, as if he can't bring himself to

I keep wondering to myself, did Prime learn how to STAY young or did he figure out a way to BECOME young?
Did he leave his universe because he found a clue to become immortal? What is the difference between other Ricks and Prime? What made him become the “Rickest Rick”?
Well, if he somehow learned how to STAY young, something must’ve happened that made him wayyyyy ahead of other Ricks. (Almost) all the Ricks in the Citadel and Prime’s universe share the same timeline. Then, what made him leave his family early than others? And why did he think it was a good idea to “team up” with Ricks? What did he find out that made him take action?
It is more believable if he figured out a way to BECOME young. If so, he probably made himself young in the future and time-traveled to the past to “team up” with Ricks. If he did time-travel back, he probably managed to deal with the time paradox thingy. Maybe he somehow figured out a way to re-set the multiverse except himself. Maybe he saw something in the future and wanted to change it.
If the theory above us true, then he might not be that bad. Maybe he thought that killing one Rick’s family wasn't that much of a deal since he saw way worse things in the past. And C-137 most likely wasn’t one of the smartest Ricks in the future since he probably would’ve chosen his family over science if Prime didn’t intercept.
Woah, I got carried on wayyyyyyy too much... Lol. It was fun imagining this.
I’m sorry for not posting for a long time! I was busy with schoolwork and my major. My final term ends in a few days, so I’ll try to post more frequently after. Thank you! :D
