Relic from an ephemeral performance installation project inspired by my 2011 visit to Venice Italy and the first ever Female Curated Venice Biennale. There were free art experiences everywhere throughout the city and I wanted to be an unofficial part of the magic! So I purchased local lace, local fruit and created colorful mandalas in front of key places all over Venice. At first the pieces reminded one of colorful stained glass Cathedral windows until the sun and the pigeons or vagebonds/ shelterless citizens and travelers had decimated the fresh fruits and what was left was a stigmata-ed piece of lace reminiscent of the blood stained sheets of loves’ first sensual foray, wedding night proof of a consummated marriage and females virginal purity given to her husband, crucifixion shrouds, or evidence tagged and bagged from a murder scene. Relics of transformations. Mere reminders of what was and that all life surrenders to the cycles of embodiment of form and release of death. #artrelic #gurillaperformance #ephemeralart #renegadeinstallation #storyofcreationanddestruction #venicebiennale2011 #italy #venice #buranolace #sacreligious (at St. Mark's Square and Basilica, Venice, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/CM10Zi0ho_3/?igshid=mnyxz6uzdm8
