Mein Papa hat dieses Brettl aus Olivenholz handgefertigt und ich habe es graviert. Wir haben uns sehr über den Auftrag unseres guten Spezl und (derzeitigen Fischerkönig) @rabe1968 gefreut. Bei der Firma Rabenbauer habe ich nämlich vor ein paar Jährchen meine Ausbildung zur Bauzeichnerin gemacht. Saint Notburga was the daughter of German peasants. She was a kitchen maid of Count Henry of Rattenberg and saved the leftovers for the poor. Once asked if she could forgo attending Mass and work more, she said, ”Let my sickle be the judge between me and you.” The sickle remained suspended in the air. She is remembered for her hard work, charity and prayerfulness. Many miracles are attributed to her intercession.

Surprise Wine Fest (Rattenberg, Austria)

After the cow parade, we went back to the town we were staying in (Rattenberg) to enjoy the local wine fest. And local indeed it was! Very small but lots of energy. It was literally out front of our hotel!

We took an intermission to have dinner at a delicious restaurant.

And then resumed “festing” with a great band that played American cover songs.

Rattenberg

Rattenberg (Austria) è un piccolo borgo in Tirolo dove vivono poco più di 400 abitanti ed è dominato dalle rovine del castello del 1254 posizionato sulla rocca. 

Da qui si può ammirare il panorama circostante e le case in stile tirolese.

Dato che qui ho fatto solo una sosta tecnica durante un viaggio per mercatini di Natale, oltre a salire alla rocca ho fatto in tempo solo a gironzolare un po’ per le vie del centro dove bancarelle e negozi esponevano prodotti tipici ed artigianali, soprattutto legati alla lavorazione del vetro e del cristallo.
