OK. I caved because I'm weak, and I forgot the kickstarter pledge I backed included the digital release of The Return, and I'm up to date as far as issue #2. When the physical copy arrives in Dec, I'm going on a re-read.

First, alright AJJ. Really lay down the angst like being smacked by a Megazord. Second, I'm not sure why AJJ chose her character Kim to live the reclusive life in Canada, and we all know she goes by the alias Emma Phillips. I also remember AJJ having that role as Jules Callaghan from the Canadian TV show "Flashpoint".

It would've been extremely funny and a nice nod to that old role she did back then, if Kimberly Ann Hart changed her name to Jules Callaghan. Hey, Emma Phillips is very unassuming too.

Amy herself is a Canadian citizen, so it makes sense why she would have Kim be the same! As for calling her Emma Phillips, I forget the exact context of it, but she's said before in interviews that she' always had the name Phillips as a headcanon surname for her (EDIT: specifically, that she headcanoned Phillips as Kim's last name before Hart was made official)

I think too many references to her past roles would break the immersion a bit but she did RT this joke I made with it kjkfjdkf

If Kim and Olivia (who'd likely be a toddler) were around during the good ole' 2014 Dino Thunder era when the Dino Thunder Rangers were running around. Who, amongst the DT team (minus Tommy, cause he can't run from fatherhood), would Kim and Tommy trust as babysitters? Hayley, Connor, Kira, Ethan, or Trent. Or all five of them and see what the hell could go wrong lmao

Honestly? Probably Conner, considering in canon he had a whole episode about character development concerning a kid and a future involving work with kids (starting up soccer camps). He's one of those "vibes with young kids because he's on their level" types. Also admittedly chosen through process of elimination, because -

= Ethan would just plunk her in front of one of his games, and Kim would destroy anyone even thinking about turning her kid into an iPad baby

= Kira might get some mileage out of playing her some kids' songs for a little bit but wouldn't really have any interest beyond that

= Trent can already barely handle the stress in his life without throwing in a two-year-old to watch

= also bonus, Hayley just seems like the type of person who's fine with kids after they reach high school age but not any younger (she's just like me, fr!)
