"-but these boys are never going to get self-confidence unless you let them try things for themselves. I just can't."
Frinktober 2023 Day 23: Random Frinkiac Frame
Hit randomize on Frinkiac and got a frame of Ned Flanders in his house from "Bart Has Two Mommies." Not the most interesting frame, but fairly quick to draw!
See the whole prompt list here.

Idr if you’ve mentioned any interest in the Simpsons (moreover the history of the simpsons) but I wanted you to know I’ve gotten a particular brain worm from your yoshi performance on the subspace dub. There’s this simpsons YouTuber I’m a fan of called TheRealJims who uses a frame of yoshi from the subspace cutscenes as an icon. Since I watched the dub, I can’t stop hearing yoshi talk about “disgusting sex” whenever I see it so that line’s now forever linked to this random dude who likes sitcom cartoons. So thank you lmao
I've had this message in my inbox for almost a week now & literally every time I see it I laugh so hard I start wheezing. This is awesome, bud. Thanks for sharing.

@doctor4t I have a couple changes for the Rat mod that could be fun/make world domination substantially easier
• Changing into a rat plays the marketable plushie sound (not sure what it’s called, you used it in your Folly ad)
• Not sure if you did this, but the Mask mod Lux made (or helped with, idk) has a feature where wearing a mask hides your UN. Could be pretty useful?
• Perhaps putting a netherite block in a compressed/grinder thingy could make one clothed ingot, would be pretty symbolic considering what started this whole thing
• Putting a rat in an item frame makes a little house for them, with a couple special ones based on the block the frame is on
• Scratchy rat (like from the simpsons)
• Clownpierce rat, Luxintrus rat (Luxintrat?), and EightSidedRat
• I would like to suggest that Clown rats have a small chance to spawn with the funny scythe or hammer, if the mods are installed
• Custom paintings that replace famous pieces with rats (Mona Lisa, The Scream, etc.)
• Rats dance for music like parrots
Also, some ideas that need more explaining:
• A little trumpet you can give to rats that make them play short segments of songs, as well as random notes. I’m thinking Megalovania among others, and a 1/10000 chance of just making the doot sound effect.
• And this might be a bit OP, so I suggest 8 Clothed Blocks for the recipe, but maybe surrounding 1 item with the aforementioned blocks, you can give that item to a rat for them to use, like the laser bows y’all have, or a pickaxe to make them mine faster. Only one item at a time, and you would be able to see it on their backs. Since it’s so expensive, with my proposed netherite conversion making it 5184[?] Netherite Ingots for 1 rat item, plus the item in question, I think either triple durability, or maybe even infinite, would be good.
Enchants would probably need to be applied after the rat item is made, since it could get way to complex to code otherwise.

When my husband and I watch a favorite comfort show (Bobs Burgers, Simpsons, Futurama, King of the Hill, more), we talk about the show a LOT. 10 run-throughs later and we'll still talk about it.
Thats because, undeniably, these TV shows are pieces of literary art which we work, over time, to understand.
More and more and more recently we've been able to connect nearly every word, every pixel it practically seems, to issues pertaining to capitalism
And something clicked for me recently that we actually figure out quite a lot of new ideas simply by connecting pieces of broad, abstract ideas from each show together
And I finally liken that phenomenon to that thing weve all seen with the detectives and a corkboard and the pictures and string.
Answers can be found by piecing together random abstract ideas and noticing how they connect.
It's just important to frame this idea with the belief that since there are a million things wrong with capitalism, it takes a long ass time to tie all those thumbtacks together with string

Dream anon the house midterms came and then i got food poisoning🔥 anyhoo
Shinji was gonna die because iirc he got shot inatead of misato and on the hospital bed bla bla bla hes sad then an apporation of his mom appears and graces his cheek a la shinji in the fanta sea
Then for some reason he has a gun, goes on about how hes worthless then shoots himself, hes dead for a good few seconds
Then cut to shinji waking up with eyes filled with excitement (with a gunshot in his cheek) with distorted scribbled frames going into some sory of mania and a random section of komm susser tod starts playing (it was 5:32 if im right) then thinks "everyone is suffering because of my actions im gonna save them" then shintjee gets up and shoots every patient
This shit reads like a creepypasta in hindsight
P.S. bonus dream i was at a shopping mall then lilith bearing angel wings rised from the mall when i was in the parking lot then smiled at me
ah damn. sorry2hear about the food poisoning. i hope you're alright.
the first dream reminds me of those fever dreams that are so weirdly lucid in the sea of otherwise foggy ones. it doesn't quite feel creepypasta bc this dream wouldn't feel out of place with the source material.
an angelic being in the mall reminds me of the simpsons episode with the slogan 'the end will come at sundown' except without the looming threat. at least lilith wasn't used for marketing, right?

That image for KUNG FU PANDA One looks a wee bit different, doesn't it? It's the very first publicity pic that got out for the movie, waaaay back in the fall of 2005...
I skimmed through an old article of mine on another site, and I remember the world of upcoming animated movies... In around late 2005... Looking like this.
Yes, it's a random year. No milestone or anything, as 2005 was 18 years ago, rather than 15 or 20... But I thought I'd share this.
This was what was announced as upcoming back then... To give one an idea of what happened and what didn't, and how radically different some studios' slates were:
2006
ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN (Fox/Blue Sky)
THE WILD (Disney/C.O.R.E.)
OVER THE HEDGE (Paramount/DreamWorks)
CARS (Disney/Pixar)
MONSTER HOUSE (Sony/Amblin/ImageMovers)
THE ANT BULLY (WB/DNA/Playtone)
BARNYARD (Paramount/Nickelodeon)
OPEN SEASON (Sony Animation)
RATROPOLIS (Paramount/DreamWorks/Aardman)
HAPPY FEET (WB/Roadshow/Animal Logic/Kennedy Miller)
A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON (Disney Animation)
ARTHUR AND THE MINIMOYS (EuropaCorp)
DELGO (Fathom/Electric Eye)
HAPPILY N'EVER AFTER (Lionsgate/Vanguard)
FOODFIGHT! (Threshold)
2007
TMNT (WB/Imagi)
SHREK 3 (Paramount/DreamWorks)
SURF'S UP (Sony Animation)
RATATOUILLE (Disney/Pixar)
BEOWULF (Paramount/ImageMovers)
BEE MOVIE (Paramount/DreamWorks)
AMERICAN DOG (Disney Animation)
2008
CAT TALE (MGM/Imagi)
KUNG FU GECKO (Egg Story)
KUNG FU PANDA (Paramount/DreamWorks)
MADAGASCAR 2 (Paramount/DreamWorks)
THE SIMPSONS MOVIE (Fox/Gracie Films)
THE SMURFS (Paramount/Nickelodeon)
TOY STORY 3 (Disney/Circle 7)
2009-beyond
FINDING NEMO 2 (Disney/Circle 7)
FRAIDY CAT (Disney Animation)
IT CAME FROM EARTH! (Paramount/DreamWorks)
MONSTERS, INC. 2: LOST IN SCARADISE (Disney/Circle 7)
PUNK FARM (Paramount/DreamWorks)
RAPUNZEL UNBRAIDED (Disney Animation)
REX HAVOC (Paramount/DreamWorks)
RIBBIT (Vanguard)
ROUTE 66 (Paramount/DreamWorks)
SHREK 4 (Paramount/DreamWorks)
UNTITLED SHREK PREQUEL (Paramount/DreamWorks)
And probably a few more that I'm missing, but that's what the landscape looked like back then. It's fascinating to see what didn't make it, what certain films on here later morphed into, and what ended coming out and when...
Shall we dive in? I think I will, briefly...
Most of the 2006 movies made it to their intended release frames, as many of them had trailers out by the end of 2005. After Michael Eisner stepped down as CEO of The Walt Disney Company, his successor Bob Iger bought Pixar, and two of Pixar's top brass - John Lasseter and Ed Catmull - assumed control of Walt Disney Feature Animation, changing the last two words to "Animation Studios". Their "overhaul" of the studio resulted in the delay - and re-titling - of A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON, which became MEET THE ROBINSONS and opened in spring 2007. RATROPOLIS is retitled to FLUSHED AWAY, to avoid possible confusion with RATATOUILLE, so as not to have another ANTZ/BUG'S LIFE, FINDING NEMO/SHARK TALE situation on everybody's hands.
DELGO, infamously, got pushed back multiple times. It was already pushed back several times by that point to begin with, until randomly appearing out of nowhere a little before Christmas 2008. Happy 15th anniversary!
FOODFIGHT!, an even more infamous production, wouldn't be released until 2012 at the earliest after so much went wrong during "production" up until its sale by its completion bond company. We all know the story of that travesty!
2007 also largely stays the same... THE SIMPSONS MOVIE was thought to have been a 2008 release back in 2007, and out of nowhere a teaser for it showed up before ICE AGE 2 and confirmed it was actually coming out in summer 2007, which it did! AMERICAN DOG was to be Chris Sanders' sophomore Disney Animation effort, until Lasseter fired him from the film at the end of 2006, and it would be completely retooled into BOLT, which released in fall 2008.
2008 is where things get interesting... Outside of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE moving up a year, we have a Paramount/Nickelodeon Smurfs movie that was set to kick off a trilogy and had a cast... And curiously, after three Sony-made Smurfs movie, we're getting a Paramount/Nickelodeon Smurfs movie in 2025.
CAT TALE was to be made by Imagi, who of course did the 2007 TMNT movie and the 2009 ASTRO BOY picture. It, too, had a cast and a logo. It was supposed to be about a cat ending up in an all-dog city, playing off of old cats-vs.-dogs tropes. I wonder how much of this thing got quietly transplanted into PAWS OF FURY: THE LEGEND OF HANK over the years? That too was a looooong-gestating film.
TOY STORY 3 was not going to be the movie we all know, this was going to be the version that was being made by Circle 7, a studio Disney set up to make sequels to Pixar's films. This was when it looked like Pixar were going to part ways with The Walt Disney Company after their contract was up. Disney had first rights to the movies produced under the contract, and these sequels were a way for big bad Diz to play hardball and get them to renegotiate. Iger threw out this Eisner tactic, and instead offered to simply buy the studio. Pixar took over TOY STORY 3 and made their movie, not what the Circle 7 movie was going to be: Buzz Lightyear being recalled to Taiwan.
Then you have... KUNG FU GECKO... Sharing a year with KUNG FU PANDA. I remember the minor controversy over this one on animation blogs and forums and such back in the day; that DreamWorks were supposedly trying to sabotage this small Singaporean animated film that had a trailer out and everything. (It wasn't rolling in theaters, you had to dig for it online. It was an independent production through and through, and the guy spearheading it had worked for DWA in the past.) But yeah... This thing was real... And it never got made, because its studio (Egg Story) got shuttered. Apparently it was retooled into a TV production, but I've seen no sign of its existence. If it had been made, it would've probably been re-titled.
(Update: Actually... It kinda... Was... Made? As an NFT animated series. Yeeeuch.)
2009 and beyond... DreamWorks had the bulk of the titles here. REX HAVOC, a comic adaptation, would later be retooled into an original story sharing some similarities: MONSTERS VS. ALIENS. IT CAME FROM EARTH! - about aliens dealing with human invaders - never happened, ROUTE 66 - a truly bizarre project about the statues in front of the various local businesses being anthropomorphic - got left behind, animal rock band romp PUNK FARM was later transported to MGM but ultimately went nowhere... SHREK 4 would of course happen, the prequel did not. PUSS IN BOOTS went from straight-to-video affair to theatrical film, and dropped the subtitle THE STORY OF AN OGRE KILLER. Similarly, the Penguins from MADAGASCAR were to get a direct-to-video movie of their own that would later go theatrical.
Circle 7 had a MONSTERS, INC. sequel and a FINDING NEMO sequel ready to go by the end of 2005, with scripts and everything.
RIBBIT was one of many proposed Vanguard Animation movies, after their debut feature VALIANT was released and when HAPPILY N'EVER AFTER was in production. Apparently they still plan to make it, along with like 20 other movies they had wanted to make for years... It's a very weird production company.
Disney Animation's RAPUNZEL UNBRAIDED, of course, got retooled into RAPUNZEL and was given to Glen Keane and Dean Wellins to direct... Until Keane and Wellins stepped down, Lasseter gave the film to Byron Howard and Nathan Greno, the film became TANGLED. This partially explains why it's one of the most expensive animated films ever, Disney got pretty far with test work and other development work for UNBRAIDED. FRAIDY CAT was to be the next Ron Clements-John Musker picture for the studio, but they left as morale got lower and lower before Lasseter and Catmull were put in charge. When they returned to Disney Animation, they were assigned THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, and never looked back on FRAIDY CAT. (It wasn't their concept to begin with.)
Yeah, I just felt like reminiscing about my younger days on the Internet and the first time I caught wind of lists of upcoming movies that I was initially unaware of, lol.

I have been researching the Australian pixel artist Paul Robertson. I had not heard of the name yet knew his style, as I had seen the into he animated for the simpsons.
Tumblr media
I've been watching his animations and studying his still pieces and have to say he has one of the most surreal yet unique styles I've ever seen in pixel art. So much detail is crammed into every frame, it's unreal.
Tumblr media
His work alot of the time consists of random characters from pop culture all posing together, which is very odd but cool to see
Tumblr media
Overall I like his work! It's been very interesting looking into him.

Miracle Mart
It's not a Fanfiction.
It's a small... hmm we call it essaie in french then a 'try', that mean short text of random subject.
I have write it a couple years before, even before being a mother.
To be honest, there's a couple of another absurd short tales before this one in the series; MK, why this world. Should maybe put it online
I was in the garage, in front of the workbench, when I felt a chill from my soul.
I can feel my grandfather's presence from ten years ago behind my back. I feel him bend over my shoulder and ask, softly, "My boy'hon, why do you do it like that? I’m enough afraid that you cripple yourself. Wait."
And I felt the need to see his hands grab the two boards I was holding, pull out one of his miracle blocks made precisely to nail boards at an angle, or tighten it in the vise in a way that allows me to work well, then watch him look through his countless cabinets, chests, and shelves, scrutinizing the boxes until he take out a small green box containing a drill and…
I wake from my awaking dream… None of this is still in existence… He passed away ten years ago.
-= Ding =-
"Treasure? What exactly are you doing, Simon… Simon?"
I pass my head through the door that connects to the sunlit apartment—no trace of my companion, but rather a strange colorful arch in the midst of my living room, where the couch should logically be.
I rubs my eyes.
-= Ding =- … in the new aisle… for children's smiles, please view aisle twelve, section Keep your heart young… -= Ding =-
I approach, fascinated, and peer over the arch, seeing my favorite little biker rubs the back of his neck as he gazes at a screen that displays an interactive map of the store along with a list of suggestions. I walk by the ark and glance up, shocked to see a massive Wal-Mart Olympus replica packed with odd merchandise.
When I look closer, I see multicolored bubbles on the shelves, trails that lead nowhere, and mirrors with inscriptions like:
FOUNTAIN OF JOUVANCE. 24 hours, return for a day.
IN WONDERLAND, Are you as talented as Alice?
I WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN, but don't spend too much time thinking about them.
I went to watch Harry Potter with everyone else, and I tried not to look at the large Victorian-style frame that seems to reflect more than my image.
I approach Simon, shaking my head.
"What's going on?"
"I know what it is. It appears to be a shop of… anything."
"I'm curious how much. So, do they provide courage or power? That would be amusing."
"No idea… wait a minute… look here, on the list: Einstein's Intelligence, aisle fourteen. That should be something you like."
I'm deliberating. Einstein's intelligence is stunning, but it also necessitates his nobility of mind and good heart. Perhaps it's not for me. We agree to try at least one thing, so we start strolling around the lanes, dazzled by what we see.
SWORD EXCALIBUR, live Arthur's quest and return to your kingdom as a wise man.
"I suppose you'd be interested in that," my partner said.
I shake my head as I grasp his hand in mine. I'm not sure I want to take the first opportunity.
WISH WELL, as if you were still in need of it here.
HOWLER CATERPILLAR from The Simpsons.
GOOD MOOD IN THE MORNING.
"That would be good for you, sweetheart."
"Speak for yourself."
CHILDHOOD MEMORIES, to be consumed moderately.
"It can be a good whisky!"
My remark does not elicit an answer from my companion, who mumbles something about putting the past behind. I look up, and there he is. My heart races to the point where it appears to be about to capsize over my rib cage. I stretch my hand, uttering another stifled gasp, my finger pointing in the direction of the light.
STAIRWAYS TO HEAVEN, to see your dearly departed.
"No! Don't do it. We all recall what happened the last time you visited God. (*MK, Why this world - Let's just say it.) You're not going to do another apocalypse."
"I just want to see my grandfather; I need him."
"Look, you've already seen him once, and…"
"No way in a story. I need to meet him in person. I need to spend some time with him. Like when he appeared in my nightmares over the first few years after his death. I need it."
"Look at the fine print here."
He points to a poster that can be found on nearly every column in the store. I approach, intrigued and begin reading aloud.
"False hopes are not refunded, nor are persistent illusions guaranteed. We recommend a simple dose of happiness for increased enjoyment."
I smile at Simon, and we go down the alley of happiness. I exclaim at the same time as he, and then he shrugs and stuffs his hands in his pockets.
The happy lane returns us to our apartment, and I smile at the life lesson that has just been served to me. So, we go back to our living room, and the ark vanishes behind us.
Intriguingly, I notice a card still on the couch cushion and take it.
FOR ONE-DAY ACCESS TO THE MIRACLE MART - give it forward.

Overheating Dream Journal #3
It's an episode of The Simpsons. A time loop is caused by a space station Mr. Burns has constructed, and Homer is the only employee, thus the only person who can stop it. Because of how time is warped near the station, travelers (Mainly, actors/characters from famous movies and series) trying to stop it have to get close to Homer's family to try and get them to intervine somehow.
This starts with Liam Neeson being a substitute teacher in Bart and Lisa's class, who is immediately recognized. Bart goes, "Hey, it's Liam Neeson! Pay me $10 to record him saying something cool!"
One of the jokes late in the episode is, "I'M PICKLE-no. I'm not saying that. It's stupid."
The classroom soon fills up with, "How do you do, fellow teenagers?" Sitting next to Lisa is Colm Meaney as Miles O'Brien from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He is also immediately recognized, for which he says, "I'm here to fix the timeline. Don't tell anybody. Messes with things, you know."
Lisa replies, "Wow, for being a Colm Meaney, you're actually really nice!"
Colm does a patronizing laugh, and says, "I get that a lot. Ten times from you in this current situation."
Homer's part is kind of dark. Through the time loops, everyone remembers a little more of what's going on. Except Homer. Smithers is up there to check on things, but can't return because Burns cheapened out on the shuttle to take him there called "Space Why?!" He also didn't put any escape pods on the station. For some reason, to reset the loop involves Homer killing Smithers by putting a bunch of rocks from the "Remains of Asteroids Foolish Enough to Try to Test Me" bin, put them in a bag, and beating him to death. Homer has no memory of every doing this, but Smithers remembers it every time. Smithers goes on with it because, "If I don't keep this going, the universe ends, and most importantly, so does Mr. Burns. So I must."
In the classroom, half the class is made up of sci-fi and action heroes/actors at this point, and they decide to get together to pool their resources. When asked why they're handling it this way, Rainer Wolfcastle, who has somehow gone unnoticed the ENTIRE TIME, comes into frame and says, "The other optshon is going back and killing your fahther as a bay-b. That would be bahd."
Miles then goes on to explain that the chromaton particles are creating a temporal flux field around the station that would cause random aging in a single body that would cause the person to instantly. "Tom Cruise came out with the body of a 20 year old and the organs of an 80-year-old man."
Bart replies with, "That's the same excuse you use every week. If you would just use the deflector dish to send a quantumizing signal to balance the chromaton particles, you could even out the effect and allow someone to pass through."
Miles says, "By golly, that just might work." Then it cuts back to Bart trying to get Liam to pull a ligma prank on Milhouse.
The person is, of course, Marge who has been surrounded by these hunky guys she believes have trying to hit on her.
That's pretty much it with solid details. I feel like there was some ending line Smithers said, but I don't remember it.

GAH! Stop doing those shots of the other sister from the front! Why is it that so many cartoon characters look awful from the front? There’s a reason Simpsons are never drawn from the front for more than one frame.
And thank you for your irrelevant opinion, random rabbit. Anyways, she gets on the bus and gets ready for an adventure of a lifetime. What other forgettable cartoons I’ve never seen will join this wacky crossover? Coconut Fred? My Gym Partner’s A Monkey? Whatever Happened To Robot Jones? Uhhh....Generator Rex? Whatever, it’s time to go back to Alien Dice.

For the drawing requests, maybe a redraw or inspired-by screencap drawing of a moment or scene you love from a Simpsons episode? Not very specific, but I'm curious! Otherwise bsmits kissies will more than suffice 🙏
Don't know if this counts, but I paused on a bunch of frames during the "Oh no! The Germans!" scene and redrew the frames. (I love pausing on random parts of episodes to doodle down either one of the characters or the scene!)
Here are the 2 pages of doodles from episode 10, season 3.
