Since there’s been alotta stuff about the upcoming MLP:FIM movie that’s been released, I’m gonna take this time to vent something bugging me about it.
Rant Mode Engage:
One of the things that I’ve never understood even when the first promo material came out was why the hell the Mane Six are turned into seaponies (And Spike into a fish). I mean, what's the reason behind this: To visit a seapony kingdom? Is security there so tight that they don't allow normal ponies in? It surely can't be that ponies are incapable of swimming underwater, because the show has proven on multiple occasions that they can swim just fine beneath the surface.
Not to mention that all the way back in G1, ponies were given magic air bubbles that allowed them to breathe underwater, and no species swaps were done to them (Then again, I've never actually watched G1 since I'm a 90's kid, so I could be wrong). Hell! The official trailer for this movie showed the Mane 7 with similar-looking air bubbles on their head, so why the fuck didn't they just go with that? Or better yet, do it like Under the Sparkling Sea; in that book, Twilight casted a spell on herself and the rest of the Mane 5 which gave them gills and little goldfish-esque fins on the back of their hooves.
So, once again I ask, why the fuck do the Mane 6 have to be turned into seaponies despite the fact that: they are perfectly capable of swimming underwater normally, previous generations didn't need to be transformed, and that there are better alternatives to exploring an underwater kingdom? Either the screenwriters are really stupid and have never seen the show before OR Hasbro brainwashed them to include this unnecessary species swap. Oh well, let's just hope that their aquatic forms are only temporary (Like their god-awful Rainbow Power forms) and that they'll all be back to their cute, four-legged pony selves before the movie reaches it's climax.
Rant Mode Disengaged
Now that I got that outta my system, I'm gonna figure out what to do for the One-Year anniversary of Rainbow Dash's Mailbag (Which is coming up this Saturday).

  Songbird Serenade Sculpture
And here is Sia’s character, Songbird Serenade.  I have to be honest and say I have no clue what I’m looking at, beyond someone’s OC and obviously a character from the movie.  Maybe she’s been in the show, but I literally stopped watching at the 100th episode so I really do not have a clue what is going on anymore.  Good thing I’m the “Editor in Chief” of the oldest FiM media sites, the rest will follow by example.  Honestly though the movie looks at least fun, and we probably would have had some fun reporting about it around here at ye old Derpy News, back when there was actual people here, and not a virtual representation of Flint, Michigan (don’t drink the water).
That’s pretty much it for now, I’m sure with the SDCC and upcoming movie, that PR firm will toss some more kindling into the mailbag.  Oh yeah, there is also HASCON, which we were told you can use the promo code FANMILY to get $20 off adult tickets and $10 off children tickets until July 23rd.  They also invited us to be a part of the press, or at least attempt to register.  To the Derpymobile!
