House Rabbit Society Shut the Absolute Fuck Up challenge

You have no idea what you're talking about regarding literally anything for rabbits. Literally shut the fuck up. Fuck all of you.

#apparently they put out a news release saying that #the rabbits on the petting table at the PA Farm Show are all getting euthanized (without being used for meat) after the show is over #and that they all specifically were bred to be put there and die. #dude literally think before you fucking speak #that would be such a huge waste of time and energy and money and resources #the rabbits on that table are either rabbits that were entered but didnt win enough to get a designated coop at the show #or rabbits that did get a designated coop but the breeder decided they wanted to let the public interact with them #or yes - sometimes they are culls that were already going to be euthanized anyways (usually also used for meat) #the entire point of the petting table is to get the public to interact with breeds they likely have never heard of before. #to get them to care about all the breeds that exist and consider helping to keep those breeds going. #most of the time those rabbits are still important to their breeders' program in some way or could be given to another breeder #to euthanize them would generally be a waste - a HUGE waste if they're not even being utilized for meat or fur. #yes RVHD2 is a threat but A. the rabbits at the show have been vaccinated per the rules of the show and #B. any good breeder will quarantine a rabbit after a show regardless. #euthanasia is not a necessity here. #so HRS please do rabbits a favor and get your heads out of your damn asses #rabbits #house rabbit society #hrs #show rabbits

I'm writing this because I need to put this down, and here seemed the place.

After the National Cabinet met, the Prime Minister announced that in a few weeks, it will no longer be mandatory for positive COVID cases to isolate--not for seven days, not for five days... just not mandatory.

The Prime Minister claimed that this was because case numbers were low, and insisted that this decision was made following medical advice. The Chief Medical Officer declared it was time to stop relying on isolation "in isolation". He actually said that we need a diverse series of measures to address COVID, and to stop seeing COVID as an exceptional respiratory disease.

The translation of all this is that mandating an isolation period was costing too much. Cafe, bar and restaurant owners were finding operating a business difficult, because COVID positive staff would, at short notice, have to miss work. Dominic Perrottet, the Premier of New South Wales, declared it was time for us to rely on "personal responsibility". The Prime Minister repeated that we can't depend on one measure, and then, without a single trace of awareness, said that vaccinations are proving effective. We now have no mask wearing in small spaces, or on public transport.

Paul Kelly, the Chief Medical Officer, with a smile on his face, actually said that most people were vaccinated, and had one booster, and a lot of us had also had natural immunity, too. None of these provide us long lived protection.

I'm perching on that tipping point where I'm about to be livid. If there is nothing for us to worry about, as case numbers are dropping (they're not, they're holding level, dipping and rising and dipping by the month) then by that logic, the need for isolation will drop, naturally. Exercising personal responsibility has always proven effective... as the number of people who are breath tested and found to be over the legal blood alcohol limit show.

So the real reason this decision was made is purely economical. But what is so foul and disgustingly revolting is that it is being dressed up as some kind of carefully considered science driven decision.

If case numbers are going down, then isolation is playing its part... and should stay, because the need for isolation will reduce. If case numbers are going up, we not only need isolation, but we also need mask awareness, vaccination awareness, and more measures, besides, like reliable testing. And we don't need a Chief Medical Officer telling us that things are just fine and dandy.

But I'm still livid.

#pasta too but i wanna rave abt eggs #eggs are your BEST FRIEND with easy cooking #they are simple. they are versatile #they are relatively cheap to buy. they last a pretty long while #you can eat them like a week after the expiration date (just like. use ur common sense) #and you can learn to make ‘em in a million different ways infinitely #i made egg sandwiches with a sunny-side up egg ALL throughout quarantine #and i spiced it up. i used different cheeses. i added avocado when i could #if we had bagels i was Using Those Bagels (cheese bagels work best imo) #i once added this trader joe’s spread to a bagel and put an egg on it and Oh My God #when i couldn’t make a sandwich i scrambled my eggs #it felt easier #eventually i microwave scrambled them (bad for taste but i at least i was eating) #and omelettes!!! i’ve been getting into omelettes lately #you can put fuckin Anything in an omelette and there’s a 99% chance it’ll stull taste good #literal like perfect vessel for making something out of what you have left in the house #i made an omelette with TUNA SALAD yesterday. and that shit rules #and eggs are easy to spice too #you can go the classic ROB (rosemary oregano basil) if you want #i put cumin and paprika in my tuna omelette and it really tied it all together #salt and pepper ofc. although i usually skip the pepper #but like. i only named 3 egg styles and alreadh so much variety #you can scramble anything. you can make an egg sandwich with anything. you can put anything in an omelette #AND they’re good for you. good protein especially #and of course: egg yummy

#uhh i know i can't blame all my problems on my parents and i gotta advocate for myself n be an adult but like. #the absolute comedy of refusing to teach your eldest kids how to drive goin to the point of terrifying them because 'you'll kill someone' #and terrifying them (the daughters) about uber lyft etc and even rly riding the bus. thus encouraging them to isolate #to the point of basically having no future plans. and also when they try to drive anyways you say the real reason is because the insurance #price will skyrocket and then the one saving money for her own car n insurance (me) do total quarantining for two years so the saved money #is gone because everyone still lives at home (and no im not mad helping with expenses i do live here but.) and now #their dad can't drive at least until end of october and only ONE person can drive 9 other ppl. with kids who have upcoming testing #and appointments. so attempting to find a job is near IMPOSSIBLE because remote is a joke/for more skilled workers and anything else #hiring must be driven to but bills are piling up and food doesn't stretch n your kids feel like leeches with no solutions is just!!! comical #it's funny hilarious!!!! i should've gone to college i should've dipped at 18 i should've broken more rules this SUCKS!!!!! #silly girl hours tho :3
