Okay so I know @maribat-writing-and-prompts did an elaboration of sorts on their Bio!Dad Riddler AU (which is great go check it out) but before they did I had Ideas about it that don’t exactly coincide with what they came up with so.... here.

Mari who has the same penchant for puzzles and mystery and riddles as her father. Who, while not as boastful or eccentric about it, is definitely just as weird.

this Mari is not quite villainous, but neither is she virtuous. The Miraculi have twisted her, and so has spending so much time steeped in the miasma of hatred and revenge that had befallen Paris so long ago. Mari was better than most, and so she is less effected, but these days Paris is practically the second coming of Gotham.

She learns, quite young, that she is adopted. No one tells her, but she knows. Figures it out because she’s too clever not too.

When she turns sixteen, she leaves Paris. Having ripped the butterfly and peacock and cat from their holders, she vanishes and doesn’t look back.

she searches for her father, and when she finds him, she joins him. Edward Nygma who is already the Riddler when he learns of Mari. Edward, who is delighted by this turn of events because this daughter he never knew he had is all he could’ve hoped and dreamed. She’s smart and curious and has such outrageously fun ideas to taunt people with.

she takes to being a Gotham Rogue like a duck to water, prancing about and taunting the big Bat like she was born for it (and, if one was to be philosophical like that, perhaps she was).

Her favorite prey, though, is none other than the little bird trailing behind the Shadow of Gotham. Edward watches her spin circles around the poor boy, and can’t help but be reminded of a certain Cat.

He introduces the two within a month, and it is not long before Gotham knows of the little conundrum who, more often than not, can be found playing siren-in-training when she’s not with her Father.

They call her Sphinx and Marinette doesn’t bother correcting them
