-Heyoooo, TTM blog followers! Mad sorry in advance for the absence here 😭💔Been long meaning to post my last few TTM arts completed from back on DA, so here to refresh some of the empty space with these portrait updates I made with the main Graystone princes, Elas & Kain~ ✨🔥💠
Will try to get around to their full body bio ref pieces when I get the chance, but rest assured these boys will still continue on with their antics of the fiery, stern prince Elas keeping his laidback, chaotic crystal bro Kain out of trouble (-before they inevitably drive eachother nuts, one way or another~ lmao)

How was the relationship of King Grayle with his sons when they were small children ?
King Grayle was a pretty doting & protective father to both boys back in their younger years (whenever he had the time to break away from his kingly duties, that is). Both Elas and Kain liked to play-pretend adventure fights inspired by their dad’s battle skills which always brought a smile to the King’s face.

How did Kain become friends with Maestro? Curious to know given how Maestro hates King Grayle 😲
Me and Purfect came up with a headcanon that Kain and Elas had a big blowout argument about how King G kinda favors Elas over Kain since he's the top heir to take the throne. Along with Kain's insecurities in being Sienna's child knowing her own bad rep. He kinda bumps into Maestro in his refugee camping grounds by accident, but Maestro remembered him, and being the only one to really observe Kain's personal true nature <3 So basically Maestro better trains Kain in being a good combat fighter and validating him as a person~

Alastair, how well do you get along with the king's sons? And were you acquainted with both of his former wives?
"I feel they are both fine young man, honestly. Yes, Elas is quite acquainted with the Elite as he should for the crown heir... but I feel like there's alot of potential for Kain's role as a prince too. It's just a shame there's so much conflict between him, his brother and the King..."
"As for King Grayle's wives, I wasn't enlisted around the time both were around... though I've heard many stories of how rotten Queen Sienna was within the castle. A real shame about Queen Elianne's earlier passing though, she sounded like such a kind lady..."

Some little World-Building/Character Study Stuff ‘cause I’m bored:
The current kingdom that the main Three Mage characters inhabit is called Graystone. The royal family ruling it are known as the Grayle family (Elas Grayle, Kain Grayle, etc.).
As the name suggests, the kingdom of Graystone was founded and named after the large abundance of mana stone caves, which were usually found to be a sharp silvery/grayish color when “raw”. Once these stones were cut, polished and bonded to a mage, the stones would then change color to mage the user’s “soul color” (ex. purple for Prym, aqua/teal for Aevri, etc.).
The royal family has an odd history of only ever producing sons throughout the recent generations, no daughters. While they haven’t quite figured out why, some speculate it was due to a curse from a spurned mistress many generations back (when the ruling king at the time was known for fooling around with various women, mage or not). If there was ever a princess in the Grayle household, it was either through marriage or by adoption (which happened a couple times in past generations, though they were never considered heirs).
Elas’ mother, the late Queen Elianne, was originally the princess of another kingdom, Asteria. Her kingdom was going through tough times back then, and the best solution Elianne’s father (King Ezra) could think to save themselves was to propose a political marriage between Elianne and the current King of Graystone. Elianne was always dutiful to her people, so she had no qualms about doing this to save her kingdom. Her younger brother Ferian, however was very much against the marriage (never trusting the King of Graystone from day one due to his dark magic and general intimidating demeanor). His distrust still persists to this day... though Ferian (who is now the reigning Asterian King) is at least friendlier around his nephew Elas (since he bears such a striking resemblance to Elianne and all).
Due to the circumstances of their mothers leaving their lives at a young age, Elas and Kain were primarily looked after by their governess, Madame Ofira (or “Miss Fee” as the boys often called her in their youth). She’s quite prim and poised and did whatever she could to instill proper etiquette in the boys (and thus greatly disapproved of them being too mischievous/playful). As much as this got on the princes’ nerves, deep down Ofira truly did care about them... and only wished for them to succeed as proper, upstanding gentlemen. She’s still around to this day, and though the boys are far too grown to be in need of a governess anymore, Ofira still lives within the castle to be a sort of “advisor” to the brothers when they need it.
