How does one even describe what it is to be a woman to those who don’t understand? How, in a time like now, when we continue to be targeted & made to feel like victims even by those sworn to protect us, do we remain strong? How do we keep fighting when our hearts are so heavy with the knowledge of all the hate & pressure continuously shoved onto us? I dont know the answer. But I know that we need each other. I know that we reach for one another when the sky is heavy & we tirelessly search the night for those we are scared to lose in the darkness. This week I am heavy. Weighted down by anxiety & lack of hope. I am wondering the streets of my mind too fearful to wonder the streets outside, searching for ways to become & share light. Some of my thoughts are poems, some are songs, some are howls. I have been asked to share them with you this weekend at a live event hosted by Redbridge Libraries. I want to hold & be held. I want to sit in a circle with people I love & cry. I want to feel your breath & hands & heartbeats... But while none of that is yet possible, I will settle for wanting to see your faces in tiny boxes on my laptop screen & knowing that, for a moment, I am not alone. If you want that too, I look forward to sharing space with you this Friday night. The event is free. I, write and perform poetry. Often bawdy and lurid, rather “dark” as well - but I never take myself too seriously... so these are sometimes accompanied with a dash of self-deflating comic buffoonery... sometimes. 

I like reciting classic pieces of poetry as well. And I enjoy the regal aesthetics of the Baroque and Romantic periods.

The idea was to incorporate the artist @megborna's ideas and dreams. This to him is the mat. As a child growing up in Anloga, @megborna remember his early mornings waking from these mats.
