[image description: An ugly puckered old coot scowls from an old TV screen that’s been turned 90 degrees to the right. He is bright yellow against an orange backdrop, and badly pixilated. Text reads, “143, Premeditated Murdoch ~ Small God: Yellow Journalism”]
• • • • •
He’s aiming for the big time. He always has been. And he’ll tell you, if you ask, that he’s an All-American God, as patriotic as sunshine and apple pie and the fourth of July—all things, that if you stop and think about them, aren’t patriotic at all. They’re just things. Eating apple pie doesn’t make you a good person. Everyone gets sunshine, and the fourth of July happens all over the world, whether there are people there or not. Patriotism is an illusion, and illusions are his true stock in trade.
Murdoch claims to be a god of truth. He is, and has always been, a god of lies. He tells you what he wants you to hear, what he wants you to think, what he wants you to believe, and he tells you that anyone who tells you different is lying. He has managed to find several loopholes in human thought, weaknesses we are all born to bear, and he weaponizes them against his audience. Conservatism bias, for example: the first thing a person hears on a given subject is the thing most likely to be believed, no matter how untrue it is. All Murdoch has to do is make sure he’s the first voice on any subject, and he’ll be the most trusted source of information.
And he wants that. Oh, how he wants that. He wants you to believe his lies, because believing his lies is believing in him, and he’s aiming for the big time. He wants to be the only god anyone believes about anything, and that would be fine, if he wasn’t a compulsive liar.
He wants you to be frightened. He wants you to know that you have no hope unless it’s endorsed by his panel of experts, unless he’s the one selling it to you. He wants you to be so afraid of the world that you can’t hear anything he doesn’t tell you, and once he has made himself your one true god, he wants you to spread his gospel. This is how he gets to rule the world.
And oh, he’s going to.
Unless we stop him.

i had a dream last night that on the internet it was customary for people to "deep fry" their pfps annually. you were supposed to take note of the day you joined any site and every year after that date was known as your "aging day" and you had to run your icon through an instagram filter or some other png editing program to show how time had passed. ppl even celebrated it differently site by site; on tumblr, for example, it was almost considered an "internet birthday" and mutuals would leave caring notes via the ask box and post images of comic-sans-edited cakes. smaller, older forums had different (more specific) ceremonies, and twitter just treated it like a chore they had to contend with.
the tradition of "aging days" meant that you could tell how long someone had been on a site based on the sharpness of their pfp - newer users would have a crisp, clean image, and older users' icons would be almost impossible to decipher, a mixed mess of pixilation and blurs. incomprehensible pfps were generally seen as a sign of wisdom, especially in tech advice threads, though people frequently misconstrued image pixilation with actual user age, sparking varying arguments - after all, it was site by site, and a clear pfp could belong to a new 70 year old user just as much as it could belong to a child. still, it was normally just another aspect of internet life. i joined tumblr and followed the “aging day” tradition just like anyone else, without thinking much of it. it’s what everyone else did.
at first i assumed it was just a customary fun internet thing, but i noticed after a while that even Serious Accounts were doing it - official accounts belonging to newspapers, museums, government officials. they weren’t trying to be “in on the joke” either. none of them even mentioned it. their icons would just annually degrade alongside everyone else’s, without a second thought. this seemed out of place to me - i researched “aging days” on wikipedia and i saw that it was mandated, but by who? no one could figure that out. it wasn’t a creepypasta thing, accounts just went dark if they didn’t follow the tradition. some people thought it was a government law, but no one government controlled the entire internet. i decided to see if it was true for myself. i waited months for one of my “aging days” to come - my most recent would be that of a twitter account i’d constructed a year prior. when the time came, i sat and watched as my pfp stayed the same crisp, clear image of a farm house on a clear blue day. i didn’t corrupt the photo the entire day and i watched the digital clock turn to midnight. and i woke up.

Simming Through The Ages: A Life Long Love For The Sims
Hey there I'm a passionate Sims fan that has been on this pixilated rollercoaster since the very first sims game.
From the moment I laid eyes on that iconic green diamond floating above a sims head while my mate played it I was hooked and got myself a copy, it was like discovering a gateway to a parallel universe where I was the god of SimsVille. I spent many hours building houses & community lots, orchrastrating dramatic love affairs and even trapping my sims in rooms without doors or windows, (don't judge me we all did it lol).
When the The Sins 2 dropped I was blown away by the ageing, genetics and the aspirations which added a while new layer of gameplay for me. My Sims went through awkward teenage phazes, fell in love and got abducted by Aliens. And let's not forget the iconic Create a Sim I would spend hours tweaking my Sims to perfection.
When The Sims 3 arrived it blew my mind an open world? Yes, my Sims explored the whole area of Sunset Valley. World Adventures came along my sims went all Indiana Jones and explored the hidden tombs of China and Egypt, even a romantic getaway in France (lol).
I didn't play much with CC until recently and it breathes a new life to the games. I never cared for the sims pet expansions either for some reason.

Disrupt Project - Artist Research
Juan Pablo Zaramella - Luminaris
Argentinian animator and director, Zaramella has won hundreds of awards for his short film Luminaris.
His use of the pixilation technique in his stop-motion animation fascinates me. The capturing of sunrise and the aesthetic lighting in his shots is incredibly eye catching. Throughout the short film, he utilises stop-motion to its full potential, the iconic walking sequences, the blowing of the lightbulb and almost every action done without CGI, yet achieving such a impossible and satisfying result that I can’t look away from. The use of symmetry in the shots adds to this, balance and harmony is not just achieved but thrives in Luminaris.
youtube
Blu - Muto and Big Bang Big Boom
Not too much is known about Italian artist Blu as he conceals his indentity but that doesn’t stop his mural work from being especially innovative. Blu creates animations from street art painted onto walls. Incorporating his graffiti art style and use of spray paints taking photos of each new development. What I love about Blu’s films are how instead of removing distractions such as changes in lighting, position, weather or other people, he doesn’t shy away and incorporates them all into his work. Contrasting this to the perfect and satisfying works of Juan Pablo Zaramella makes the disruption more clear, and I love witnessing both ends of the stop-motion spectrum.
Linked here are Blu’s most popular videos, Muto and Big Bang Big Boom.

Vicky Mather - Stanley Pickle
Last but not least, we have British filmmaker Vicky Mather and her short film Stanley Pickle. What I personally love about this work is the story told and how artistic choice of stop-motion is integral to the plot. I adore this short film as it feels connected to my own exploration of disrupt, and how I avoided it as a child using different copy mechanisms.
Seeing the opening sequence of the toys sprawled out and Pickle’s room filled with imagery associated with children and his unwillingness to accept adulthood, brought me back to my own room, still full of toys and my own unwillingness.
Most captivating to me was the constant feeling of dread I had while watching Stanley Pickle, knowing something was bound to go wrong and disrupt his makeshift peace.
I won’t spoil the story as I highly recommend everyone to watch Stanley Pickle for themselves.

Sci Fi Classics Revisited Westworld
Tumblr media
As part of Sci Fi Month as well as checking out Sci Fi stuff I havent seen ,I shall check out sci fi classics I have seen ,starting with the 1973 film Westworld
Plot :Two friends Peter(Richard Benjamin ) and John (James Brolin) go to the Delos amusement park ,spending time in Westworld, where one can live out their fantasies about being a cowboy ,populated by lifelike robots....Who arent behaving as they should
Westworld is a film I like but do not love .My main problem with the film is it is GREAT idea that feels undercooked. The big thing I got out of the film is it is about people living out their fantasies ,both violent and sexual ,and using these robots to fufill these fantasies till the robots turn on them, but maybe cause of the time or the fact the film is PG ,they just touch on this stuff and dont explore it (From what I have heard the recent TV Show explores these themes better ).Another focus of the film is corporate greed (A theme director Michael Crighton said he got frustrated audiences didnt get ) and even that feels undercooked .I'm gonna be honest folks not a lot happens till the third act ,when the robots wreck havoc ,though its mostly focused on a cat and mouse game between one tourist and one robot .Before that the movie is a lot of bumbling about and there are some side plots that dont go anywhere
That said ,I still like the movie.I like the two friends ,with James Brolin as the macho guy who has been here before and Richard Benjamin as a divorcee who likes westerns but is unsure about this and is being dragged here by his friend to cheer him up .Alan Oppenheimer (Who is more famous for voice over work like being the voice of Skelator in He Man and Falkor in the Neverending Story )is good as the head scientist .Probabbly the performance every one rememebers is legendary actor Yul Brynner as The Gunslinger ,a robot programed to behave like your standard bullying "Black hat" cowboy to prompt guests into killing him (He cant attack back.... initially ),so he starts just as a nuisance ......But by the end of the film he becomes a rather iconic movie monster a relentless machine who has a grudge against our protagonist for killing him twice .Yul Brynner brings a sense of intimidation as he silently stalks our hero(Inspiring later relentless movie villains like the Terminator and Michael Myers ).I like the simple effect of the robots ocasionally having shining silver eyes (MAkes the Gunslinger especially look intimidating ) and the practical effects for showing the mechnisims of the robots are really cool(Famous shot where the remove Yul Brynners face to reveal mechnisms is especially neat ).ALso I believe this is one of the first uses of CG in a film for the pixilated way the robots see things and its neat
OVerall its a good movie, that I am glad got remade as a TV show ,because it has a great premise that it didnt take full advantage of .What makes it worth a watch is the world ,the performances, pretty good effects and especially Yul Brynner as an iconic sci fi villain

Navy sorry about tumblr being stupid (yet again). I hope it gets sorted out soon💙💚
Question though, if you don't mind answering. What does it mean to be shadow banned? I've seen you and others mention it but I don't have the slightest idea what it actually means😅
I hope it gets sorted soon, too! And I don't mind at all! Some info in these posts: Shadowban vs Explicit.
When I was shadowbanned, I was basically invisible. I had NO access to messages, received no notifications on tags, asks, anything. I don't think my asks went through when I sent them to other blogs. Couldn't find my blog in the search and none of my posts showed in the tags.
With being marked as explicit, I'm still semi-invisible. I'm once again not in the searches and my posts don't show in the tags. I do, however, have access to messages and I'm getting at least some notifications. My icon is pixilated and it states my blog may contain sensitive content (I believe) if you try to view my blog.
I contacted help. Now we wait. ❤️
Love and thanks. ❤️

ARTG 371 Week 7
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hate textures. I discovered that when I export them within the original artboard and place them in a new artboard as a PDF, it become minorly pixilated. Over the last week, I have gone through three different packages and I've learned a few things.
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After class, I created this package from the feedback I received.. Overall, I liked it, but I think the typeface doesn't match the brand's aesthetic. Additionally, the typeface is too close. To improve it, I plan to increase the leading and move the skull icon a little lower.
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am happy with the font I chose for my project, and the size of the skull works. However, I had to move it around a few times before I found the perfect position. I even experimented with regular paper and cardstock, but I realized that cardstock is not the best choice for a coffee bag.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that I'm nearing the end of this project. However, I need to make some changes to the tracking section. The paragraph under "ONYX COFFEE" is too close together, so I will update it. Additionally, I experimented with inverted colours for the sticker and found that the black background with a blue pattern looks great. I will be using that colour scheme going forward. I also want to darken the blue on the two stickers.
I attempted to use a vent from another coffee bag for my own bag, but it did not function as it should have. As a solution, I cut out a circle from cardboard, glued it inside the bag, and created a hole using a pen to imitate a vent.

"Mastering Graphic Design: The Power of Vector Designs"
In the dynamic world of graphic design, one concept stands out as a true game-changer: vector designs. These versatile and powerful elements have revolutionized the way we create, communicate, and captivate audiences. From their impeccable scalability to their precision and clarity, vector designs have become an indispensable tool for modern designers, enabling them to bring their creative visions to life with unparalleled finesse.
Vector designs are rooted in mathematics, employing geometric primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes to construct images. Unlike raster images, which are composed of pixels and can become pixilated when resized, vector designs maintain their sharpness and clarity at any scale. This scalability makes them ideal for a wide range of applications, from tiny icons to expansive billboards. Whether you're designing a logo for a small startup or a mural for a cityscape, vectors ensure your work remains visually stunning.
One of the key advantages of vectorsdesigns is their edit ability. Designers can easily manipulate every element within a vector graphic, adjusting colors, shapes, and sizes without compromising quality. This flexibility streamlines the design process, allowing for experimentation and refinement until the perfect result is achieved. As a result, vector designs empower designers to manifest their creative ideas with precision and efficiency.
Moreover, vector designs are a staple for projects requiring consistent branding. Logos, business cards, and marketing materials benefit from vectors' ability to maintain uniformity across various mediums. Consistency is crucial for brand recognition, and vectors enable seamless adaptation while preserving the original essence of the design.
When it comes to print, vector designs shine brightly. They ensure impeccable results by providing printers with crisp outlines and accurate color specifications. Whether it's a magazine spread or a promotional poster, vector graphics guarantee a professional finish that translates flawlessly from the digital realm to the physical world.
In the realm of web design, vector graphics find their footing as well. With the growing demand for responsive design, where websites adjust to various screen sizes, vector graphics provide adaptability without sacrificing quality. This is particularly relevant as the use of mobile devices continues to surge, demanding designs that look captivating on screens of all dimensions.
In conclusion, the world of graphic design is forever transformed by the advent of vector designs. Their ability to deliver clarity, scalability, and edit ability makes them an essential tool for designers across various fields. Whether you're crafting a logo, designing a website, or working on a print project, vector designs offer an unparalleled level of finesse and versatility. Embracing these mathematical marvels empowers designers to push the boundaries of creativity while delivering exceptional results that stand the test of time
