Milano, 1913: Nasce Piero Fornasetti, un genio poliedrico che sconvolgerà il panorama del design del XX secolo. Pittore, scultore, designer, scenografo... non c'è campo che il suo estro non abbia toccato.

Primogenito di una famiglia benestante, era predestinato a seguire le orme del padre nell'import-export. Ma il suo animo ribelle anelava a ben altro: il disegno. Espulso dall'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera per insubordinazione, Fornasetti si forma alla Scuola Superiore d'Arti Applicate.

Il successo arriva nel 1933 con i suoi foulard di seta stampata alle

Triennali di Milano. Incontra il maestro Gio Ponti, con cui collabora a stretto contatto, pubblicando le sue opere su riviste come Domus e Stile. Un sodalizio che darà vita a opere memorabili.

Le sue opere diventano inconfondibili: rigore, fantasia e ironia si fondono in oggetti, mobili, scenografie e costumi. Ma se c'è un elemento che urla "Fornasetti" a gran voce, sono i suoi volti.

Nel 1952, sfogliando una rivista, Fornasetti resta folgorato dal viso di Lina Cavalieri, cantante d'opera dalla bellezza abbagliante. In lei trova la musa ispiratrice: il volto ideale a cui dare forma alla sua arte.

Nasce così la leggenda: la serie dei volti di Fornasetti. Infinite variazioni su Lina Cavalieri, una bellezza classica che diventa protagonista di piatti, mobili, lampade e qualsiasi oggetto Fornasetti possa immaginare.

Fornasetti muore nel 1988 lasciando un’eredità senza tempo, un pioniere visionario che ha tracciato un solco inconfondibile nel panorama dell'arte e del design.

I find wall plates an essential decoration, and I've always felt like we could use a lot more variety when it comes to them so I decided to make some fornasetti wall plates. I feel like these would fit so well in a gothic/macabre home, or you could even use them for an art exhibit. I highly recommend y'all read here to learn more about these plates, as the history behind them is pretty cool! 🖤

Details:

This is a recolor of @peacemaker-ic's atwood dining hanging plate. You need the mesh for the recolors to show up in your game.

There are 35 swatches, seeing as variation is such a large theme of fornasetti's plates and I just COULDN'T choose.

They cost 100§ because they're literally hundreds of dollars in real life and I wanted to simulate the feel. Of course feel free to change the price if you wish. You will find these in wall decorations.
