my ask box: specifically says  for people to put *p for private reply
literally everyone that sends me off anon asks: never do that, implying they dont mind/maybe even specifically want a published reply and would probs just send a chat DM or say something if they really wanted privacy
me, regardless: ok but what if they are expecting me to answer this privately. what if i publish this ask and they get upset and i die immediately. i better answer privately just in case-

30 days of autism acceptance 2020 part 5
Day 21.  Talk about comorbid conditions.  Do you have any other disorders commonly related to autism?  Were you misdiagnosed as something else first?
Ufff... tbh I think that some comorbid conditions are, in fact, natural responses and adaptations to daily life in todays world. Al final me da la impresión que todo esto consiste más en patologizar a la gente cuya biología le impiden adaptarse fácilmente al sistema de mercado global actual y al estilo de vida social que conlleva.
I am not diagnosed, but probably I got adhd and ocd [déficit atencional y trastorno obsesivo compulsivo].
No exactly, but they diagnosed me with depression... And one therapist hint to bipolar disorder [I told him about autism but I recognized the language he used in next sessions as concepts from bd].
Well I was depressed, but that was just a symptom, I think. They were on the right track, though.
Day 22.  Talk about autism parents.  How do you feel about this section of the community?  Do you feel as if they speak over you?  Do you find the term ‘autism parent’ rude or offensive?
I have not come across such kind of people, but I have hear about a problem with parents that make autism about themselves, I don’t know if this question refers to them. If that’s the case, I think this people doesn’t understand autism at all and I even think that some of them and/or relatives must be undiagnosed autistics themselves, because, you know
I can’t answer the two last questions because I don’t have enough sources, but if they are what I just described, then yes, I feel they speek over someone, but not me, I am an adult and have a supportive and educated family, a career, health and resources. I think they speak over their children, and that makes me even angrier, because they are persons, human kids, and depend on these people. I yet don’t understad what does “autism parent” mean as a concept so I can’t comment on that.
Day 23.  Talk about your living situation.  Where do you live?  Do you live alone or with other people?  Are you happy with your current living arrangements?
I live in the capital city of my country. I don’t have any problem of housing and I probably would not have never or not for a long time, since both my parents sold their souls to banks to have their own houses (and since they are divorce that’s two houses) and none of them would let me be on the streets even if I were 50 with a kid and unemployed.
I live with my two mothers and one of my sisters.
I am happy, but I know that eventually I’ll need my own place. I would like to buy something from the start instead of renting because at the end is the same money. Also i need a job cause right now I’m not studying nor working. I just don’t now what to do D:
Day 24.  Talk about the stereotypes and misconceptions that neurotypicals and allistics have. What stereotypes have you heard about autism?  How do you respond to people who have incorrect stereotypes about autism? What kind of things should people not say to autistic people?  What’s something you wish NTs/allistics knew about autism?
Today I heard some comments from a friend of the family (who is a doctor) and it was all like “yeah mildy asperger tbh I think y’all are more OCD”.
Stereotypes are bad and lead to harmful stuff like more people going undiagnosed.
I have heard that we lack empathy by default [”yeah and empathy towards us, what about that, u b*tch” are the kind of things I want to respond], that we can not get hints or be social or have a group of friends or “ordinary” special interests, and other stuff like that because at the end it all depends on the person and how they express their interests, personality and ideas through their actions on the environment, and their relationship with others, and all of this under different circunstances and with different sets of habilities and limits determinated my time, space and -overall- chaos.
I try to not get made and not engage in any kind of discussion about the subject.
There are a lot of weird things to say. “You need to behave/control yourself”. No, I don’t “have to” behave/control myself. I have to keep a balance in our interactions and stay in your zone and do the job to bring you to mine and guide you while you stay on your zone without helping me and coming just sometimes to my zone. Idk if that makes sense so I’ll try it again: I have to translate all the time between your language and mine, and you take for guaranteed that I do speak your language and that I do have to speak your language and that is your language the one that’s the correct, good one. In that scenario, "control yourself” is the same as “speak the only language, my language”. Still, I get where this kind of comments come from. I understand. And sometimes these comments are fair. “You always have the last word”, I think this is a mix of an adaptation to abuse through life and the fact that the true and facts are important for us and we need to get the facts straight + maybe some RSD if you got ADHD [or somehing else along these lines], so we fail to come to realize that, in that situation, facts and the true doesn’t matter, but feelings and relationships, so while the other person is fighting over what they felt, we tend to talk about who is right.
They should know that our mind is not defective, but different, and that affects everything.
Day 25.  Talk about meltdowns/shutdowns.  Do you have them?  How often?  What are your triggers?
I had some strong meltdowns before knowing about autism and didn’t have a name for them or any clue to understand them and protect myself. I also had shutdowns and even if they sometimes got me in troubles, I didn’t really hate them... It just felt “like me”.
I do have them, both meltdowns and shut downs. I go through meltdowns and it looks like a little crisis and I can hide in my room if is not too bad. I do have shut downs sometimes when I’m tired but tbh i like the feeling of surrender that comes with them.
[Surrender? Is that the feeling? Or it feels “like”, “similar to” surrender?].
The shut downs can be once a week or maybe more, and meltdowns after enough stress to drain my self, and I can’t really give an average for month or year cause it’s more about how much I’m asking my body and mind to go through at the time.
My triggers are usually a hard, long, stressful day that leads to social misscomunications that leads to conflict that leads to me doing some kind of mental short-circuiting which leads to te meltdown.

All of WLW ask
Alrighty! 1. How long have you known you liked girls?
For two or three years I believe, might be a bit off I’m really bad at time perception.
2. Talk about the girl who made you realize you liked girls
Well my first crush was on a girl but I wasn’t physically attracted to her and loved her because I had known her for so long and cared about her so much. However the person that actually made me experience my first physical attraction to women which kinda blew off the cap and made me get to my current ‘ALL WOMEN ARE QUEENS’ state was actually a voice actress/stage actress, Ikuta Teru, aka the voice of Futaba from Revue Starlight. The first time I saw her in the Revue Starlight live action musical my brain short circuited and I was completely and utterly floored, it did NOT help that Teru’s an actual Casanova and spent most of her time on stage being a charming ladykiller so there was also that.
3. Are you in a relationship at the moment?
Nope.
4. Do you have a crush at the moment?
I... Don’t know actually. I’ve had one crush in my life and it was on a girl I had no chance with who also was just a horrendous match for me and that would’ve been a toxic relationship. I’ve had two maybe-crushes since. It’s really hard to tell if the feelings I have towards a different girl is actually a crush or me being so starved of healthy good relationships.
5. Describe your crush!
Well, uh, problem there. The girl I mentioned above had a tumblr. So I’m not gonna do that even though I’m not sure if it’s a crush or not. Generally speaking, the two girls that I’ve had maybe-crushes on (not my first crush) have one big thing in common-They’re kind. Incredibly kind. They make me feel... Well, they make me feel unquestionably loved. That’s why it’s so hard to sort my feelings out. My first crush emotionally felt the same as before I had said crush, the only change was me realizing just how much I cared about her. I have a lot of love in my heart and I love my friends so much, especially the ones that genuinely make me feel loved like these two. So yeah.
6. Do you tend to like more masculine, feminine, or androgynous girls?
I don’t really care about appearances, I find every single girl adorable, beautiful, or hot. If you mean the type that turns me into a gay disaster, it’d be more masculine leaning if that’s the phrasology you’re looking for. I mean my gay awakening was Ikuta freaking Teru so that should give a pretty good idea about my type. That and tomboys, a few years ago at a Theatre camp there was this girl who showed up every day wearing one of those shirts with massive holes in the sides that almost make it not a shirt anymore and a tanktop and for some reason always had a flannel tied around her waist and I literally couldn’t talk to her the whole week because every time I looked at her my brain malfunctioned.
7. Do you look/dress more masculine, feminine, or androgynous?
I don’t really put much thought into my appearance but I dress pretty androgynous though my first Prom I showed up wearing a Catra-inspired suit and I felt so goddamn cool so leaning towards Masculine a little.
8. What’s your gaydar like?
Accurate usually. It’s REALLY easy to pick fellow lesbians out since some of us have a pretty distinct way of dressing/acting.
9. Tall girls or short girls?
Short, it makes cuddles and hugs easier. Though I reiterate, appearance doesn’t matter too much to me at all.
10. Intimidating girls or kind girls?
KIND. Please please please kind! I’m a really positive person so I’ve attracted a LOT of negative people in my life and I want nothing more than my future girlfriend to be somebody who’s so genuine and kind with me that I don’t have to be scared in the back of my mind that they actually don’t like me.
11. Hugs or kisses?
I’ve never been kissed so hugs probably? I mean I’m touch starved so hugs are always good anyways.
12. Do you have an ideal ‘type’? What would they be like?
Not really, appearances don’t matter to me. My ‘type’ is kind, loving girls who are easy to read and never leave me second guessing myself or wondering if I did something wrong. Basically, the exact opposite of my first crush.
13. What’s your favourite personality trait of yours?
The fact that I am basically a Golden Retriever in a human body. I’m not exaggerating or joking, ask my mutuals and they’ll probably affirm the fact that I am a literal puppy.
14. What’s your favorite personality trait for a girl to have?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; being kind. I’ve had my own kindness taken advantage of a LOT by people who called me a friend then turned around and emotionally abused me relentlessly. Someone who is genuinely kind, someone who cares about me not because they want something from me but because that’s just who they are... That’s my favorite personality trait.
15. What’s the best thing about liking girls?
where the actual entire fresh frosted fruity pebbles to I begin. How about how every girl is wonderful? How no matter what every girl is cute or beautiful? How they give really good hugs? How they’re so much easier to have a deeper emotional connection with? How all women, no joke, are queens?
16. Do you have any friends who are wlw?
Kind of? My fellow Lesbian’s that I know IRL are, uh, not... Not that great. I don’t know if friend is even the right word. My best friend’s a bi girl though so that counts.
17. Have you ever been to pride? If so, what was your first pride like?
Unfortunately no. I’m still very much closeted. I live in a small town in the middle of Kansas, it’s not safe.
18. Do you like the lesbian flag?
Mhm! Especially the newer one with the oranges in it, not only do the colors actually mean something now but it’s also much more pleasing to look at with the contrast.
19. What was your first kiss with a girl like?
I’ve never been kissed, I’m still closeted.
20. Who was your celebrity/fictional gay awakening?
Tumblr media
*cough cough*
21. What’s your favourite lgbt+ movie?
I’ve never actually seen any LGBT+ movies, closeted, remember?
22. Who’s your favourite openly wlw celebrity?
I actually don’t know any, then again I barely know any kind of celebrities in the first place.
23. Do you wear makeup?
No and you can’t make me.
24. Who was the first person you came out to (if you have)?
My small friend group. The entire squad is LGBT+ so it was just another Tuesday.
25. Has anyone ever come out to you?
Kind of? My small friend group kinda did but it wasn’t a big thing it was just ‘Oh yeah by the way I’m a lesbian she’s a lesbian and she’s pan.’ and I was just all ‘A’ight.’
26. Have you found a community of lgbt+ people?
Online mostly. Like I said it’s not particularly safe for me to be out so unless I know FOR CERTAIN they’re LGBT+ and I also trust them a great deal I won’t ever tell a soul that I’m a Lesbian.
27. Do you have any older lgbt+ people you look up to?
Yeah, I think so. My friends I met on the Revue Starlight Hell discord server, at least I THINK they’re older than me but you never know.
28. Do you identify with butch/femme labels?
Not quite, I mean, I’m kinda hard to sort into either. I like dressing sharp sometimes in a suit but also my hair is long and naturally incredibly curly and I normally dress real neutral so idk
29. Who’s your favorite fictional wlw?
Tumblr media
These two, 100%. Their romance is literally two girls falling in love with their best friend and I can relate to that so much, not to mention they’re just so adorable and sweet they gave me diabetes a long time ago.
30. What experiences are you looking forward to having in the future (kissing a girl, going to pride, etc)?
Having a GF, having someone to cuddle, actually experiencing what a kiss is like, having someone to cuddle, finally going to Pride, did I mention having a cuddle buddy?

The evolution of ‘NBA 2K’ is pretty incredible when you stop and think about it
NBA 2K's developers talk the game's growth and listening to fans.
Close your eyes.
No seriously, close your eyes. Not right now. After this paragraph. Imagine the earliest basketball game you ever played. Try to remember the gameplay, the appearance, and how much fun you had playing the game when you were younger.
Now, open your eyes and watch this trailer:
youtube
Run The Neighborhood’ is 2K’s newest game mode. It’s kind of like The Sims or Club Penguin, but for basketball.
You can go to f*cking Foot Locker:
Hit the gym:
AND GET SWOLE:
And you can even get superhyped about getting a haircut:
You can do all of this and so much more in the neighborhood.
2K has come a long way
Praise for 2K’s newest game mode is music to the ears of Rob Jones, senior producer for the series.
“For some of the guys in there that have been working around the clock since February to bring this, it’s a validation that what we do is for the love of the game.”
Jones is in his 17th year with the company, and he’s seen a lot of changes with the game over the years. What’s obvious are the clear visual differences between 2K7 and 2K18 when you put them side by side. There is an exponential improvement in game play and graphics, as is expected with the help of technology upgrades and the increased capabilities that the newer consoles possess.
I mean, just look at how different the immortal Dirk Nowitzki looks on 2K7 for the PlayStation 2 vs 2K18 PlayStation 4.
It’s obvious.
What isn’t visible are the long work hours put into the game — the army of developers and producers who work day in and day out to make this vision come true.
“The team’s a lot bigger; obviously the problems are more complex,” said Jones. “You look at how far art has come along, that also tells you that how we do art is very different than the way we did it back then. Seventeen years of development will do that for you.”
Each and every year NBA 2K looks as good as the current technology will allow it. The feeling is similar to when you’re playing a video game and your parents come in and believe it’s the real thing.
"We get wind of new tech. We try to figure out how to maximize what we’re doing for that particular technology. We pushed 4K the moment it came out. We pushed VR last year. We’ll try something in every single way that we can.”
youtube
Sometimes the visual accuracy of the game is so good it even surprises the employees who have been on this 2K journey for years.
“Visually we’ve come a long way,” said Ben Bishop, a senior producer with NBA2K. Bishop used to work on the NHL 2K games before making the switch to NBA2K’s MyCareer mode.
“It’s amazing to see the player likeness and what the players look like and just all the things we’ve tried to do. It seems like every year we find different ways to evolve the game and to give you a new and different experience.”
Bishop’s statements are in tune with how the different player game modes have evolved over the years. MyCareer, for example, has come a long way since 2K10.
You know, the one where everyone started out super trash and risked playing in the D-league for a while if you didn’t show out at the “Summer Circuit.”
Here’s my 43 overall center doing his best out there:
While an improvement in video games is expected over time, I never fathomed copping 2K10 and imagining that video games would look this advanced and come this far in such a short time period. The improvement really is exponential.
Here’s a side by side of my MyPlayer in 2K12 and my MyPlayer in 2K18. The one on the right is a face scan. I don’t know the guy on the left.
Thanks to steady improvements and new dimensions added each year, MyPlayer/MyCareer has exploded into an extremely popular game mode. Last year I watched my cousin in high school come home, put on a headset, and play virtual pickup basketball with his 2K squad friends on MyPark. What a time to be alive.
From MyPark in 2K14 to ProAM and now Run the Neighborhood, 2K constantly adds new elements to prevent the personal basketball experience from growing stale. The game has gone from being just about the NBA and has turned into a very personal and versatile basketball experience.
“The sheer scope of the game has grown a ton since I first started working on it, and that’s cool to see,” said Bishop
The overall growth of the game is due to the fact that making/taking care of a video game is a daily operation. With all the constant updates that go on throughout the year, the 2K team doesn't have that much time to look back at what it’s made in the past. When it does, however, it’s a time of nostalgia and it even provides sources of inspiration.
“We tend to look forward more than back, but there is always stuff you can learn,” said Mike Wang, NBA 2K game play director. “Even from last year, looking at some of the feedback we got, some of the constructive criticism we got out of 2K17 and taking that into the next year that actually causes us to look back. What did they not like about 2K17? What did they like better in maybe 16 or 15 or even back to 2K7? So we always look at past products and how we can build the best product now.”
A social game
The influx of technology hasn’t just changed how 2K developers create the game. Social media and the era of influencers have made both praise and criticism easier to receive.
Nothing in life is perfect, and 2K is no exception. The company receives a ton of feedback from gamers on a daily basis. However, it’s the awareness of feedback which makes it one of the best games in the business. Even though the game gets “released” once a year, 2K is willing to listen to the noise and work on addressing the feedback and patching things up. The company tries to be as transparent as possible with these changes as their notes page/blog addresses the details of what is improved/fixed with each patch.
The eternal tsunami of feedback sounds overwhelming to the average person, but the 2K crew is used to it. The noise is actually heaven to the ears of Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie2K, 2K Sports digital marketing director and the prime person whom fans and NBA players hit up about ratings:
Lol 90 not good enough bruh?
— Ronnie 2K 2K18 (@Ronnie2K) August 4, 2017
“I love it. That means that we’re extremely socially relevant. That meant that people care that much that they want to hit us up about ratings about what the game’s looking like all of that stuff. I think that’s why our audience has grown so much because people want to talk about our game, and it allows us to extend the audience even more.”
2K’s evolving relationship with the gaming community is one of its strengths. With the increase of Twitch streamers, YouTube stars and the increasing popularity of eSports, it’s no secret that video games are going to take over the world one day. Whether it’s being featured on 2KTV or being invited to special events, 2K knows who its biggest voices are.
“We realize that a lot of the young guys get their info from a lot of these gamers.” said Singh.
This is no surprise to 2K. The team's ever-budding relationship with YouTubers and social media influencers comes from how interactive it is with the community. These influencers are exciting, energetic, and speak about what they like and dislike about the game, and most importantly have people who cling to their every opinion like it is some kind of scripture.
We young men about to take a bus #RunTheNeighborhood. Who you getting your news from today?
A post shared by Ronnie Singh (@ronnie2k) on Aug 31, 2017 at 8:48am PDT
Gamers like Agent00, a popular YouTuber from Toronto who is known for giving people buckets on the MyPark circuit, is one of a handful of YouTube stars.
youtube
He’s an electric and funny personality who is not afraid to point out both the strengths and flaws of 2K. Agent00 isn’t afraid to keep it all the way real in his videos, and he appreciates that 2K isn’t sensitive to his outspoken nature.
idk how some of yall still grind 2K17. We need to hold a celebration for the willpower and dedication you have. Just tired of the game now..
— Agent 00 (@CallMeAgent00) May 31, 2017
“Some communities, if you say something you’re just blacklisted from ever coming back,” said Agent00. “They’re pretty transparent for the most part. There’s not a lot of games where you can just reach out and get replies like that.”
The crazy thing is while an outsider might see the mass of opinions and comments as noise, the 2K team appreciates this more direct pipeline of feedback. From YouTube videos and social media posts, developers and game creators are able to see what is liked in the game and what isn’t throughout the year.
NBA2K sports half a million subscribers on YouTube, two million followers on Twitter and 6.5 million likes on its Facebook page. That’s a ton of voices. On any given day, you can catch Mike Wang answering gameplay questions on Twitter or see Ronnie2k chatting it up with NBA Players who are also huge fans of the game themselves.
“What makes us successful is listening to what the fans want and the fans are louder now than ever. On YouTube, Twitter. They’re all over.” said Wang. “We love that because back in the old days when I was first getting into games, we didn’t have that direct feedback all the time. We had to have a focus group. We had to bring people in. Now anyone who has a computer can basically tell you exactly how they feel.”
2K’s interactive nature makes gamers feel like community members instead of just customers, and it’s that willingness to accept feedback and try new things that’s allowed the game to evolve the way it has.
Thank you for reading. You can catch me on the MyTEAM, Play Online and ProAM modes. See you at the Neighborhood and remember to pass the damn ball.
Ball is life.
