This is accomplished by using rich textures, multiple layers and brush/palette knife marks. Yesterday Burns, Paul Bennett

The Abstract paintings that Paul creates are more elemental and aim to open up new ways in which we consume our surroundings. And like all his other work, they are created to be defined by the viewer and to offer the chance to explore.   Abstracted paintings are left more open for interpretation, with the viewer given more opportunities to explore more – it can be what you want it to be, mean what you want it to mean. This is where the insight of the viewer plays a big part in the way the paintings is concluded.   As with the seascapes, rich oil paint is the medium of choice, but the application is different. Paint is built up, and taken away again in multiple layers to reveal an intense, bright focal point in an otherwise abstracted painting.
