PtN Reaction to S/O Getting Hurt

Fandom: Path to Nowhere

Characters: Cinnabar, Zoya, Langley

Warnings: Chief gets hurt, girls go feral. Mentions of killing and injuries, nothing graphic.

Prompt: Gimme how they would react to their s/o getting hurt :3

Comments: One word: MURDER. Whoever or whatever dared to hurt their beloved Chief is not going to live very long afterwards.

Cinnabar

Cinnabar has two priorities. The first is to take care of the Chief when they get injured, to get them out of danger and tend to their wounds and make everything better. Her second priority is to make sure whoever or whatever gave them those wounds is properly dealt with. Oh, and whatever the original mission was is important too, but now she's got bigger concerns.

Those concerns involve doing whatever she can to patch up the Chief's injuries on the field and carrying them all the way back to the Bureau, regardless of how badly she's injured or how much they complain. Once they arrive, she's yelling for medics, calling the staff as well as the Sinners who prioritize in healing, and she's gonna make sure that the Chief is treated well.

She's going to do everything in her power to take care of the Chief while they recover. She will absolutely pamper them, waiting on them hand and foot... even if they don't want her to. She won't leave their side for a second, constantly trying to make sure they're comfortable enough, that they have enough to eat and drink, that they're getting plenty of rest... It's overkill, honestly, but she's just worried.

Eventually she'll calm down a bit, and settle for just keeping her beloved company. She cuddles with the Chief, being very careful not to irritate their injuries, and will give anyone who dares disturb them such an intense look that they back off.

There is nothing she takes more seriously than the health and safety of the Chief, even more so now that they're dating her. She also probably feels guilty for allowing this to happen in the first place, even if there was nothing she could have possibly done to prevent it. She considers it her job to protect them, and she feels as though she has failed. That's part of the reason she tries so hard to care for them, wanting to make it up to them. The Chief will eventually end up caring for her as well, treating whatever injuries she's been neglecting and giving her the comfort and reassurance she insists she doesn't need.

Zoya

The Chief has a lot of enemies. Zoya has a lot of enemies. Once word gets out that the two are together, Zoya's enemies are now the Chief's, too. No matter how careful they are, it's only a matter of time until, one way or another, the Chief gets hurt. And then it's only a matter of time until whoever injured them dies a slow, painful death, preferably at Zoya's hands.

To say that she sees red is... something of an understatement. Fury hardly describes what she feels, seeing her beloved get hurt. All she can feel is rage and all she can think is they. will. pay.

First and foremost, if the Chief is still in danger, she'll get them out of said danger. Once that is no longer a priority, because she's gotten them out of danger or there are other Sinners around.... she's hunting down whoever dared hurt them.

They're not getting away from her. She's too skilled for that. Regardless of how much of a head start they have, how well they can hide or evade, she will catch them and she will kill them. No one hurts her Chief and gets away with it.

Once she has exacted vengeance, she returns to the Chief and proceeds to bandage them up. If they indirectly caused this, they'll get a lecture about being more careful next time. And you'd better believe she's carrying them back and putting them on a strictly-enforced bed rest.

Once they recover, it's training time. Zoya's gonna make sure this never ever happens again, and she pushes the Chief to their physical limits and teaches them every fighting technique she knows, because she's determined to make sure they stay safe in the future, or at least have the ability to fight back until help arrives. One thing's for sure - this is never ever going to happen again, not if she can help it. She never wants to see them hurt like that again.

Langley

Whoever was stupid enough to injure the Chief is certainly as good as dead now. She probably just shoots them, her bullet striking her target perfectly, either to instantly kill them or to maim them badly enough they'll suffer the entire time they're bleeding out. She usually prefers to make things quick when she has to take a life, but in this case, she might just make an exception.

If whoever hurt the Chief somehow managed to escape. You'd best believe her entire team is on it. They will find that person, and they will capture them alive, and they will deliver them to Langley so she can punish them herself.

This woman. Pampers the Chief like there's no tomorrow. She'll bring them to the best hospital if it's even slightly needed, and will likely insist on bringing them back to her place, where they'll recover more or less in the lap of luxury, being hand-fed by none other than Langley herself.

That doesn't mean they're getting off easy, though, ohh no. They got hurt. They probably took another stupid risk in the process. They're going to get one heck of a lecture, peppered with the usual variety of affectionate insults. Her teasing is a little less light-hearted than usual, undercut with the worry that lingers in her voice and expression, but it doesn't matter, really. At the end of the day, she's relentless, and that's one of the things the Chief loves about her. And also all of the extra kisses they can get during their recovery.

Langley is usually quite busy, but she pauses everything to care for the Chief. No amount of arguments will dissuade her. Her Rookie is hurt, and she will be the one to nurse them back to health, end of discussion. She brings them anything they could possibly want and spends the days by their side.

She's probably going to be more protective than usual for a while after that. Sorry not sorry, Chief, you've got a clingy gun wife now who's more than prepared to shoot first and ask questions later.
