The Topic of Rhapsody of Realities for Monday 15th January 2024 is “He Abolished Death”.

Today’s  Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY MONDAY 15TH JANUARY 2024.

Then I came across this verse years ago, for a second I thought I didn’t see it. “Did Paul actually say Jesus Christ abolished death?” I wondered. I studied the verse in-depth, looking in the original Greek and dissecting every word used. I found out after my study that the verse meant exactly what it said: Jesus Christ abolished death. Some people try to reason it out and say Paul was referring to spiritual death. A thousand times, no! Observe from our opening verse that Jesus not only abolished death, He brought life and immortality to light. If the death was spiritual death, what about immortality? Could the Bible have meant spiritual immortality? That expression makes no sense; in fact, it’s a contradiction. Thus, the reason Paul made reference to immortality is because he was talking about physical death. Some people however get troubled by what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:26: “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” So they say, “We still have death to deal with; it’s the last enemy to be destroyed.” No, that’s not what the Scripture is saying and I’ll explain. It’s like when the Bible says in the book of Revelation, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God…” ( Revelation 12:10). The fact that the voice said “Now is come salvation” didn’t mean everyone in the world was receiving salvation for the first time. People had been saved before then. So, when the Bible says death is the last enemy to be destroyed, it’s talking about death as a spirit that would be cast into the lake of fire: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death” (Revelation 20:14). That’s when death will be destroyed. But already, it has been overcome; the law of death has been abrogated. The Master didn’t come from heaven for nothing. He didn’t die for nothing. He came to abolish death and He achieved it! Blessed be God! PRAYER Dear Father, thank you for our victory over death, hell and the grave; thank you for bringing us into life and immortality through the Gospel. I’m born of the life-giving Spirit of Christ Jesus. Therefore, I’m a life-giving spirit and I live by the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rattled by fear, the disciples cried out to the Master who was peacefully asleep at the rear of the boat. He wasn’t one to be flustered by circumstances. When He woke up, He didn’t say, “This storm is quite tumultuous and a serious threat to our lives! I need to talk to the Father.” No! His amazing and inspiring response to the storm was, “Peace, be still!” Hallelujah! Some Christians find themselves in similar situations and respond in fear. They start speaking in tongues out of panic; no. Speak in tongues, but never out of fear. Praying out of frenzy negates your faith; it’s ineffective. It’s not wrong to immediately start speaking in tongues when you’re in certain situations, but you must know why you’re speaking in tongues at such times. It should be to stir your spirit to pick the right words to deal with the situation. While speaking with tongues, the Holy Spirit will also give you utterance in spiritual incantations which are coded words for the circumstances. Hallelujah! Refuse to fear, and remember who you are; then speak as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. *TAME YOUR TONGUE*

*"For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea animal, can be tamed and has been tamed by human genius (nature). But the human tongue can be tamed by no man…" (James 3:7-8 AMP).*

Man has been able to tame every kind of animal. However, he hasn’t been able to tame his tongue. One of the things the Holy Spirit does in your life as a Christian is to help you tame your tongue. You may not make spiritual advancement, as you ought until you allow Him help you tame your tongue. It doesn’t matter how long you talk in other tongues or your position in your local church, if you aren’t able to control your tongue, then you’re a spiritual babe.

How does the Holy Spirit tame your tongue? He does so through you! You can’t just stay somewhere and say, “Oh God, please tame my tongue.” No! You’ll have to yield your tongue to Him. The reason some people’s prayers aren’t as effective as should be is their tongues aren’t completely yielded to the Lord. “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” (James 3:11). Surely the answer to that question is no! You shouldn’t use your tongue to bless God in worship and at the same time speak unedifying words.

The mature Christian is the one who has mastered the use of his tongue and doesn’t err with his words. The Bible says, “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body” (James 3:2). The level of your spiritual maturity could be determined by your manner of communication. You may have met Christians who talk impulsively, never giving any thought to the impact of what they say. The Bible describes such people in Proverbs 12:18: “There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword…,” this scripture concludes on an instructive note: “…but the tongue of the wise is health.” Why not tame your tongue so it can bring always health and life to you and those who hear you?

Learn to address other people with kindness, and courtesy. Learn to choose your words carefully; choose words that lift and bless.

Demande-moi et je te donnerai les nations pour héritage, Les extrémités de la terre pour possession (Psaumes 2:8).

La traduction Message de notre verset d‘ouverture dit, «Que veux- tu? Dis le: Les nations comme un présent? les continents comme un prix?» J'ai vu ce verset pour la première fois lorsque j'avais 15 ans, et j'ai prié au Seigneur selon cette écriture. En réponse, l'Esprit du Seigneur m’a dit, «Je t'ai donné les nations!»

À ce tendre age, j'étais préoccupé par l’état épouvantable des non croyants dans les nations du monde; ils sont dans l'obscurité spirituelle et exclus de la vie de Dieu. Ils sont sans espoir et sans Dieu dans le monde. Alors, je me suis trouvé la carte du monde—atlas—et plusieurs fois, je plaçais mes mains la dessus, parlant et prophétisant sur les nations du monde et sur la vie des hommes.

J'ai travaillé dur dans la prière pour les nécessiteux du monde. Je priais et pleurais, brisé devant le Seigneur. Oh, comme j’ai pleuré dans la prière pour les nations du monde! Depuis lors, j'ai su qu'aucune nation ne me fermerait ses portes. Aujourd'hui, le Seigneur est en train de faire beaucoup de grandes choses à travers nous dans les nations du monde.

Lorsqu'Il dit, «Demande-moi et je te donnerai les nations pour héritage…,» Il parlait de l'âme des hommes, Les impacter avec l'Évangile et la justice de Dieu. C’est ce que les apôtres firent, et c’est ce que nous devons faire aujourd’hui, et rien ne peut nous arrêter.

Lorsque Paul prêcha la Parole à Éphèse, Il y avait bien sûr beaucoup d'oppositions, mais elles n'étaient pas assez pour arrêter l'oeuvre de l'Évangile. La Bible dit, «C'est ainsi que la parole du Seigneur croissait en puissance et en force.» (Actes 19:20). Le secret pour ce genre de résultat est de travailler dur dans la prière. Travaillez dur dans la prière pour les nations, la ville, la commune, l'école, le lieu de travail, etc., et sûrement, la Parole de Dieu y croîtra en puissance et en force. Alléluia!

PRIÈRE

Cher Père, ton amour me pousse à intercéder par des prières sincères, et à prêcher l'Évangile aux perdus, les arrachant des ténèbres à ta merveilleuse lumière. La Parole prévaut dans ma ville et ma nation, et dans le monde entier, et le Nom du Seigneur est glorifié. Amen.

THE GREATNESS OF HIS NAME

Today’s  Scripture: (Ephesians 1:21 GNB)

"Christ rules there above all heavenly rulers, authorities, powers, and lords; he has a title superior to all titles of authority in this world and in the next"

Did you know that in the Millennium, they’d have to use the Name of Jesus? That’s the same Name we’ve already been given and have lived in, lived by, used and enjoyed for almost 2000 years. Glory to God! Sadly, many today still don’t understand the authority that’s vested in the Name of Jesus and the power of attorney given to us to use it. That’s why they’ve never fully enjoyed the benefits of it.

Jesus has a Name that’s superior to all titles of authority in this world and in the next. So, learn to use His Name. The Weymouth New Testament describes the transcendent greatness of His power, the infinitude of His might, and the supremacy and dominion of His Name, reign and glory both in this age and in the age to come: “…that you may know…the transcendent greatness of His power…as seen in the working of His infinite might when He displayed it in Christ by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His own right hand in the heavenly realms, high above all other government and authority and power and dominion, and every title of sovereignty used either in this Age or in the Age to come” (Ephesians 1:18-21 WNT).

The most beautiful part is that His authority, His rulership, reign and dominion is for the benefit of the Church. He is all that He is—His Name wields all the power that it wields—for our benefit. Ephesians 1:22 NLT says, “…God has put all things under the authority of Christ, and he gave him this authority for the benefit of the church.”

Never live as a victim. Don’t live an ordinary life. Use the Name of Jesus. He said, “All authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Then on the basis of that authority, He said, “Go ye therefore…” (Matthew 28:19). Devils, angels, life, death, hell, the world, circumstances, living and non-living things hear and respond to you in His Name. Therefore, be conscious of the transcendent greatness of His Name; live and do all things in His Name.

CONFESSION Jesus is set in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that’s named. Therefore, all of nature, angels and demons hear and obey when I speak, because I stand and speak in the authority of Jesus. Glory to God!

The Topic of Rhapsody of Realities for Friday 12th January 2024 is “Dominion Over Darkness”.

Today’s  Scripture: Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY FRIDAY 12TH JANUARY 2024.

There’s no specific calling, office or a unique gift among Christians that’s exclusively for casting out demons. Nowhere in the Bible is such a gift mentioned. Rather, what the Bible says is that every Christian, without exception, has the authority and ability to cast out demons. This truth is firmly established in the words of Jesus: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17). I want you to carefully observe what the Master said: “These signs shall follow them that believe,” not “them with special gifts or ability,” but those who believe in Him. That includes you. Our dominion and superiority over Satan is simply because of who we are in Christ and the power of attorney He’s given to us to use His Name. So, the idea of needing someone to pray a “powerful prayer” for you to cast the devil out is unnecessary. What you simply need is the recognition of the power in the Name of Jesus and use it to subdue demons. In Colossians 1:13, the Apostle Paul reminds us of a fundamental reality: we’re not under the jurisdiction of Satan. This truth should be evident in your life; live free from the encumbrances of the enemy. Your life can be as glorious as you desire it to be; you have the authority to make it happen. There’s no need to implore God to deal with the devil for you, because He has already executed the full victory over the enemy long before you came on the scene. Almost two thousand years ago, Jesus decisively dealt with the devil. The Bible says, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15). And guess what? When Jesus defeated them, you were in Him. In Christ, you defeated Satan and the principalities of darkness. It’s the reason you’re superior to them and can reign and rule over them. Hallelujah! PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the authority and power you have given to the Church over Satan and the principalities of darkness. I’m seated with Christ in glory, dominion and power. I reign and rule over the circumstances and elements of this world, today and always, because I live in, and by the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen. *RUN AWAY FROM PRIDE*

GET READY FOR THE MASTER’S SOON RETURN!

*But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble (James 4:6).*

Sometimes, it’s difficult to tell when people are proud, because pride is of the heart. Only God’s Word can diagnose pride in the heart of a man. As you study, meditate or listen to God’s Word; it “x-rays” your heart to reveal what’s therein. If there’s pride or something that’s not right, the Word will reveal it for you to make the necessary changes.

The Bible says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). God’s Word discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. In 1 Samuel 16:7, it says, “…man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

Don’t wait for someone to accuse you of being proud. Use the Word to examine yourself. Study the Scriptures and see what’s described as pride; behaviours of men and women that God referred to as proud, and expressions of pride with terms as, “his heart was lifted up” (2 Chronicles 26:16; 32:25; Ezekiel 28:5,17). A proud look (Proverbs 6:17), and also Proverbs 21:4 that talks about “An high look, and a proud heart…” both of which God says are sin.

Fight to remain humble. Use the right words on people; gracious and loving words. Emulate Jesus.
