It’s almost been a year since I met one of my new fav jedis @seanfalyon. I immediately felt like I’ve always known him. I already have fond memories hanging with him! Last year I decided to anchor my bday gathering in the launching of the music program I created for @parlorden. @missadib and I conspired to add flavor to a space that hadn’t been overly referenced during “the P”. P2 became our canvas and I integrated live djs @djtonyjakks & , with virtual selectors from the twitch line for #parlordenmusic. It was a successful way to activate 2 rooms, with 2 different demographics, technology and an array of genres. This year? No thoughts, mapping or conspiring lol. Yes I have to taken a bit of a break from my regularly scheduled twitch streams for some necessary tech tweakings. Branding isn’t one lane. It never has been. Having live streamed for 10 years, I understand the value and potential of garnering the interest of people you may never meet in actual life. There are soo many other powerful business necessities to be gained in this connectivity, it should be considered as a regular part of all who consider themselves a brands regime. Last year I quickly created a channel to feature talent in the Atlanta area, as well as other regions, in order to build brand equity for @parlorden, under the hashtag of #parlordenmusic. Activating this virtual space gave djs and music lovers a much needed avenue to vibe, promote, and convey energy during the height of the pandemic. It also gave me the opportunity to continue to exercise managing the schedule of talent, as a music director and talent buyer. Marketing and advertising is always a necessity. It’s a strategy many owners flea from based on the financial responsibility involved in being consistent. Yes it can be expensive, but SM has created a variance of ways to help drive traffic to endeavors, if consistent in execution. Streaming isn’t for everyone and now we know neither is performing in actual spaces. 😬 I believe in both enough to continue the effort under a new moniker, more fitting for the community of creators who may be featured. #coolcurators is set to feature djs, musicians, mixologists and possibly others who are either active on twitch or interested in a more community based level on contributing and sharing content.
