『•』 2021🟠#jensfänge 's WORLD 🔹🔵 @galerieperrotin @borisgarreau ⠀⠀ ⠀↪️ New exhibition opening this afternoon! Originally from Goteborg, Jens lives and works in Stockholm (a city where it's snowing a lot at the moment, you'll see that in the video to follow 😅 ) Jens' work made me think of the film vertigo, you know? Except that his characters never really seem to fall, they are posed there, suspended in a solid composition anchored in the artist's universe, inspired by his imagination, photos from magazines, his relatives (in the video, you will see Jens' son). The colors and lines on the floor of the larger room in the gallery space reminds me of all the artworks around it and contributes more to my immersion in these canvases where parts of wood and fabric are softly glued, sometimes even echoed by photos upon the walls next to the works. I also have the impression that I'm travelling through a world like the one in the 1950s, the images remind me a lot of certain forms of the Harper's Bazaar images, especially those in my IGTV in 2019 about the exhibition at @madparis The exhibition is really deep and I had a hard time leaving as if I was in a bubble. Jens' world makes me feel like a tightly knit, light family where all subjects are allowed, even the craziest... There is a lot of kindness and balance.
