Hey do you ever just think about the fact that Myshkin and Rogozhin are kind of two sides of the same coin and how Myshkin’s “love” (selfless pity and compassion) is just as destructive to Nastasya as Rogozhin’s “love” (violent passion and lust) because both are to the point of excess and neither really see her for who she really is and what she really needs and— *dissolves into incoherent sobbing*

reading the idiot right after crime and punishment and notes from the underground is being taken aback by the way money in managed.

like, everything my boy rodya had were 35 rubles and a 150 rubles debt, and still he managed to fund a funeral, buy new clothes (with razumikhin’s help, obvs), buy some tea and ask for the morning papers where zametov found him, and give alms to a random woman before going to turn himself in to the police…and then there’s this lad rogozhin spending 10,000 rubles, and acquiring a 400 rubles debt, in a matter of seconds, just buying nastasya filippovna a pair of diamond earrings…
