On your Shivadh post re football you said "the lead characters know they can’t possibly win the World Cup, but would rather lose representing their homeland than win representing some other country." I know you've mentioned The Ash being influenced by Wales a lot but that is SUCH a Welsh attitude towards sport (especially football). Lawyer Friendly Gareth Bale cameo inbound?

NGL I had to look up Gareth Bale but he seems pretty cool :D Good to know I'm getting that Welsh attitude in there!

I don't know how much space there is for cameos, which have to be handled carefully, but most of the characters draw on the public personas of footballers I'm familiar with -- Felix is a peculiar mixture of Messi and Mourinho, a very famous player turned extremely canny coach; his adolescent protege Vev is also based on Messi as a young kid. Paolo, an elite player that Felix is trying to recruit to coaching, is I suspect what you'd get if you added up and averaged out CR7 and Paulo Dybala, then just threw in a heaping spoonful of trauma (the football novel is a bit darker than the others and also has a sex scene or three; it may have to go under some kind of special imprint). Paolo's BFF Mas, friendly and essentially untroubled by the complexity of life, is loosely modeled after Angel di María.

It'll be interesting to see how football fans react to the novel. I think it's highly readable without following or even liking the sport, but my knowledge is patchy enough that someone who DOES follow the sport might spot flaws or inaccuracies. I suspect Paolo might be the biggest stumbling block; not only does he not have the retinue of staff I imagine most players do (agent, assistant, etc) but also he's been out as gay since his junior days in the mid-2000s, which I imagine would have put more of a cramp in his career. Well, we'll see. These novels do have a utopian bend, even the edgier ones.

Hey everyone!

So, the other morning I woke up to find loads of requests for imagines, and let me tell you something - I never expected that people would actually want me to write something for them *insert happy dance*.

But anyway, because I am being very slow at the moment, I decided to close requests until I post all the ones that I started, and the ones that I yet need to start. My working schedule doesn’t allow me to write a lot during the day, but I am giving my best to post as soon as I finish, and I hope you will understand if it takes me a while.
