i very much see the appeal of loner dorcas but i also do love dorcas having 0 friends in their own year and then one day seeing a bunch of closeted, nerdy, neurodivergent students in the year below and just befriending them.

like dorcas meeting pandora in the potions class because she was in the middle of an experiment when dorcas' class was meant to start and she's refusing to leave until she finishes so dorcas just sits through class with pandora muttering to herself in the back and constantly getting stuff taken off her by their teacher because "if you add that it'll burn your skin off!", to which pandora just pours it onto herself to test if he's right or not and dorcas is instantly compelled to hang out with her. and also take her to the hospital wing

then dorcas meeting regulus in the slytherin dorms very early in the morning (dorcas was going to go on a run before breakfast), and regulus is just sat there with a pile of books, looking like he hasn't slept in a week. so dorcas offhandedly tells him to go to bed and regulus just stares at the book in his hands and says about how he found out about some serial killer from 1734 who vanished when cornered by aurors in a small alley and he has to work out what happened to him

dorcas then meeting evan at the slytherin table and his roommate, benjy, sits next to him and evan just stares at benjy's purple jumper than shuts his eyes and tells benjy to leave because purple is not a good colour and he will stab him with his butter knife if he ever wears it again around him

then dorcas meeting barty when barty sets fire to the charms classroom because flitwick said he got a question wrong but barty knows it was right and flitwick actually got it wrong and that he thinks flitwick shouldn't be teaching if he makes a mistake about some complex question so he doesn't deserve a classroom
