Was Samuel Packard a tavern owner or constable?
Varying biographies say that Samuel Packard was a constable or tavern owner. [1] Looking through the "Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records, 1626-2001" database on Family Search, I found a listing of the births of Abel and Sarah Packard. More importantly however, I found the following from the transcript and original record for Bridgewater:
p 17: Samuel Packer owns land in Bridgewater by dec 1662 (noted on p 16)
p 33: Samuell Packer helps divide up land with others (John Hayward, Sey Hayward Snell, Samuel Edson in July 1668
p 35: helps lay out lots in bridgewater in Feb. 1665
p 40: Helps lay out land in 1665.
p 47: Samuel Packer granted certain lands in Bridgewater in Oct 1666
P 48: helps lay out 20 acres of land with Samuel Edson and John Cary in early 1667
p 54: part of jury in bridgewater in 1668
p 81: purchase of land by december 1683 as one f the "men the east [of bridgewater]"
p 82: purchase of land by Nathaniel Packard for John Kingman, and Samuel "Peckerd" in the same region ("Third Division") along with the "Sixth Edition."
p 83: Goodman Washburn and Samuel Packard divide a 50 acre lot in dec 1683
p 119: "Ensigne Samuel Peckerd" listed as paying dues for meeting house in 1694
p 120: Same year, ensign samuel Packard is a selectman
p 131: two samuel packards in birgdewater in 1703/1704, owning land
p 137: "senior packer" mentioned as is a Samuel Packer seemingly in February 1682
p 144: Helps lay out lots with Samuel Edson, John Cary, and William Breet in 1666.
p 144: Samuel Packard, on 16 May 1674, chosen as a constable.
p 145: lots of land laid out by individuals such as Samuel in 1666
p 158: Samuel Packard among those to "look out the common meadows that? are not yet set out"
P 163: A samuel Packard is a juror of the court in 1699
It is the original record (on the right side)which is shown below:

And the transcribed version (on the left side):

In sum, Samuel Packer/Packar (sr) is owning land in 1662, along with another Packer. Other Packers (Nathaniel and John) owning land in Bridgewater. He helped put up a meeting house on Bridgewater in July 1668 along with other folks. Helps to lay out ten acres in 1665. Land in Bridgewater chosen, with Samuel Pecker as part of that. Samuel Peckar, Samuel Edson, and John Cary lay out land for Thomas Snell in late 1666 or early 1667. He was also part of a jury for a court in the area, as "Samuel Peckar," in 1668. A Samuel Peckerd owned land in Bridgewater in 1683.
There no mention of him owning a tavern. Where did this come from? I know that a book I talked about in a recent post reviewing Dale Cook's sources mentioned this, but I do not know where they got their sources. So, in sum, we can say that Samuel Packard was a constable in Bridgewater but cannot say, with certainty, that he was a tavern owner. That is stretching the reality too far.

band-aids don’t fix bullet holes but they do cover bites || Platonic Soulmates
who: Dani Harper & Abel Hayward
when: 8/25/18 - night (I literally forgot to post this)
where: their house ; Dani’s room
what: after an argument, Dani bit herself and Abel fixes her up
warnings: blood, depression, technically this is self harm, mentions of death and abuse
It was stupid, the way she felt. She knew he had a point. She knew he was right, but she was frustrated. Dani had never had this issue. Never had to worry about hurting someone like this. Whatever was happening with Mercedes was weird. It was wrong, but not in the way it should be. Dani knew Mercedes deserved the world and that Dani wasn't that. She was a wreck and that wouldn't change anytime soon. In truth, it was likely not to ever fully change. Abuse stayed with a person and that mistrust, especially with people who talked to her drunk was part of it. It sucked. And she'd gotten frustrated and bit her arm, hard. She'd tasted the blood fast but hadn't let go until Abel was gone. Until she'd heard  the door close. His words felt like a kick to the gut and she'd ended up just getting up and going into her room, door locked tight behind her. She didn't even look at her arm, she knew it was bleeding, but she wasn't going to deal with it. She deserved to hurt. So, she'd laid on the floor, her depression playlist blasting and closed her eyes, letting the darkness and the lyrics consume her.  It started with Pain by Three Days Grace and then transitioned into Sharp Edges by Linkin Park as she let everything sink in, doing her best to ignore the feeling of blood running down her arm onto the wood floor beneath her.
Abel knew he was out of line when he told her that things, but he knew that if he didnt try, he would be watching his best friend going after someone and it somehow turned on a switch for something, that he didnt know. He hadnt discussed what he told Dani yet in therapy. When he got to his car, he hit his hand against his car and he groaned out of pain. He let out a breath, knew that he couldnt be running off somewhere else when Dani was this down. He headed back into the house, ignored the pain in his hand and closed his door once he was in there. He put his headphones on, started to play songs from Aaliyah and turned up the volume as he tried to ignore the pain and tried to draw. He kept messing up and it still wasn't getting any better. He turned down his music some, placed his headphones around his neck and swallowed hard as he gotten up. Abel knew that he needed to check on Dani, since he didnt leave and he felt bad for doing so. He headed into their bathroom, grabbed the first aid kit and headed to her door. He tried to open the door, but it was locked. He rested his forehead against the door, let out a breath as he closed his eyes. "Dani! If you don't open the door, I will kick it down! I dont feel like replacing a door at the moment!"
The music continued to play, her arm still bleeding onto the floor, as she lay there. So much of her begged her to get up, to change the music, to clean up the blood , to patch up her arm, to stop hating herself. But she couldn't. The exhaustion of the day mixed with need to not feel but also feel, kept her from doing it. If she let herself bleed, this was just an accident. This would keep her from doing it on purpose. Because she as scared she would. Scared that if she fixed the bleeding, she'd just want to make it a new escape. Even as she heard Abel yell at her through the door, she just continued to lay there. She cared but she didn't. She couldn't let him in. Couldn't let him near. She was scared of what she might do to him.
"Dani Harper, get your ass off of the floor and let me in. So I can bandaged that up! Im seriously going to kick down the door if you don't let me in five minutes!" Abel shouted over her music and knew that he needed to get into her room. "Seriously, I don't really want to replace a door, but I will if you just continue to lay there! Also, I don't want to explain the blood that would be stained on the floor!" He placed the kit in his left hand as he gotten in position and looked at his left wrist. "Five..four..This is your last chance!"
His words had her huffing and she got up, ignoring the way she felt the blood change direction towards her palm. Swallowing she stared at the door, trying to convince herself to do it, to open the door, to let him in. As he started to count down she turned the lock, and opened the door, simultaneously turning on her heel and going back to her spot in the middle of the room, sinking back to the floor. Clenching her fist she grimaced at the feeling of blood on her hand. It was worse than she'd thought. There wasn't a lot of blood on the floor, most of it still on her arm, but there was enough to warrant needing cleaning up.
Abel raised one of his legs up as he kept an eye on the door and looked up when he saw Dani. He turned off his headphones, placed them on a box as he headed into her room, being careful not to step in the blood and turned off the music. "I'll get that cleaned up after I clean you up." He replied softly as he ignored the pain in his hand before he started to pull out what he needed and started to clean her arm up once he put on gloves. "Im sorry for saying that and then leaving you. Something clicked and I knew that I needed to get away from you, but I hit my hand against my car. So that's karma kicking my ass for you." He whispered as he grabbed another wipe and looked at her. "Why did you bite your hand? I mean, I would get it if you bit my hand, but why yours?"
Dani didn't even really respond as Abel turned off the music or started talking, all too fascinated by the blood on her arm. the bite mark in her arm. She'd never actually broken skin that badly before. It was weird. "I don't know... I was frustrated and I didn't really have anything to scream into and I don't know the sound proofing in this place so like my arm just seemed like the best way to muffle that but... I bit harder than normal. Cause I do it a lot when I don't want people to hear me scream..." She couldn't look at him, even as he cleaned up her arm, instead focusing her eyes on her own arm, what he was doing. "I'm sorry."
Abel listened to her, glanced up at her and looked back at the bite. "You could always scream into my chest next time, okay? Or even into my arm. Anything besides biting at your own skin." He said softly as he raised an eyebrow as she spoke and looked at her. "No need to apologize, D." He grabbed a bandage and placed it over it. "It doesnt look too deep for stitches, but if it worse. I advise for us to go to minor care and see what they can give you, since you're recovering." He took off the gloves before he put on new gloves to clean up the blood. "Also, I hear going outside and screaming might be a good idea. However, not around here, obviously or they might call the police."
Dani sighed as he spoke. "Felt like I deserved it, I guess. Always do. It's easier, attacking my own body. I control how bad I get hurt. I don't hurt someone else." She shrugged a bit as he said she didn't need to apologize. Maybe she didn't, but she felt like she did. "Yeah, I guess." Dani hated the idea of going to minor care, or really anywhere, where the reasoning behind her actions would be questioned. Yes, she was getting help. Yes, she was recovering from multiple addictions. Yes, she was a domestic abuse survivor. No, this would not save her from being admitted to the psych ward. That was the last thing she wanted, to be locked away like that. "That's why I didn't just scream, cause God forbid the neighbors heard. That's the last thing we need right after moving in."
Abel paused his movements and let out a breath. "Dani, you don't deserve any of this shit thats happening. I know me saying it wont change your mind, but honestly. You dont deserve heartache or anything like this. Especially attacking yourself, when you're punishing yourself.  Its not right. Im gonna see about installing a kickboxing bag down in the basement. I know it wont solve all of our problems, but it will be a step." He looked at her, swallowed hard before he started to clean the blood. "Im sure they would probably think we were watching some show and get pissed because let's be honest. We've done that before. Besides, it wouldnt be anything surprising since we're living in New York and people screamed at each other before."
Dani pulled her knees to her chest, resting her head on her good arm. "Attacking myself is better than hurting you. I hate hurting other people, but especially the people I love." She sighed. "I normally don't break skin anyway, but now I'm scared. Scared I'll do it on purpose. Cause I've felt the pain and the relief and the feeling without feeling..."Dani closed her eyes for a moment then breathed out. "I need to get back into derby so bad. Get back to being physical like that. The extra energy is causing problems. Problems we don't need."
"I can take it. I dont look like it, but I can take it." Abel said with a shrug and looked back at the spot as she talked, hoping it wouldnt leave a stain. "Then make sure to talk about it in therapy." He paused as he looked back at her before he slowly nodded. "We've got 99 problems but a bitch aint one." Abel hoped it would make her smile but he knew better than that. "Sorry, I thought it was appropriate since we're in New York and Jay-Z is from NY. Yeah, you definitely need to get back into Roller Derby because honestly, you need it and we need it as a family. Like I need to get back into working out and doing shit that makes me focus my energy into something." He paused as he bit his inner cheek. "I wonder if Saph can give me a number of a celebrity trainer who is willing to come here and help me get back into the gym. I honestly need to get a manager so that way Saph doesnt need my shit on top of everyone else's." He looked at Dani. "So, will I be expecting you in my bed? Or you?" He asked when he heard Batman near the door. "Also, if you want, we can change his last name again before I leave town. If I leave town." He sighed.(edited)
Dani groaned, shaking her head. "So could the bitch, but that doesn't mean I want to take it out on you. I didn't even want to take it out on her and she fucking deserved it most of the time." It was true. Dani hated the way her and Angela would fight, even if Angela started it. It was something Dani hated doing and it made her feel sick, more than the thought of relapsing with self harm tended to. She tilted her head at him. "Yeah and I'm sure they can, though if Saph is the kind of person I've been told they are, your shit isn't an issue." Dani could remember the things Puck and Quinn had told her and it seemed reasonable that Saph was the kind of person who took on the weight of the world for everyone. She furrowed her brows and stood up, walking so she was in front of him before making it so she was on eye level with him. "We will figure the dark knight name situation AFTER you get back from picking our girl up. None of this if you leave town bullshit."
Abel relaxed a bit before he started to attack the stain again. "I know and to be fair, she still deserves it." He pointed out once the stain was gone and took off his gloves. "Saph is and I know, but they need a break from everything." He watched her get to eye level with him. "Will you be here when we get back? Because I need you to promise me that you will go to all of your appointments while Im gone."
Dani sighed. "Maybe, but the less I have to think about her, the better. She's my past and as painful as that is, as hard as it will be to get over, I will. Given enough time." Dani nodded a bit as he talked about Saph. "I can almost guarantee they've had quite the break while in Lima." She smiled at him gently and held out her pinky to him. "I, Danielle Maria Harper, promise you that not only will I be here when you get back, still clean and sober and harm free, but that this house will be perfect for our family when you do. That I will go to my appointments, even if it means having Hunter force me." Her face was serious and sincere as she spoke, looking him directly in the eyes.
Abel listened to her and gave her a smile. "I know, you can do it. Remember, baby steps." He nodded. He raised an eyebrow. "Wait, they're in Lima? Damn. Oh, OooOh. Damn." He saw her gentle smile as he held out his pinkie as well. "I, Abel Cyrus Hayward, promise to be clean and sober while Im traveling with our kid and I will also find an AA and a therapist while in Lima. When I get back, I will go to a meeting & a session. Good." He said as he wrapped his pinkie around hers and shook it as he met her eyes.
Dani nodded a bit as he spoke. "Yeah, Puck is one lucky fucker." Dani laughed a bit and then her face fell serious as she listened to him. Nodding her head, she curled her pinkie around his the rest of the way. "We've got this."
Abel looked at Dani and chewed on his inner cheek. "Lets hope so." He said, hoping that it would be true.

Just A Talk || Dani&Abel
who: Dani Harper & Abel Hayward @hayabel
when: Wednesday - 07/25/18 around 1230/1 pm
where: Abel’s apartment - kitchen
what: Dani and Abel talk about what happened the night before
notes: triggers include depression, grief/death, alcohol use
Dani had left Max's place and started on her journey home. On her way she made a quick stop at McDonald's for sweet tea and something loaded with more grease than she wanted to think about. It tasted good, that's what mattered right? Her head was still reeling from just how stupid she'd been by texting Santana, which didn't help the anger that was still bubbling under the surface over Abel walking out on her the night before. He was her best friend, one of her only friends, and she hated seeing him be miserable, especially when they'd gone out to forget.
Unlocking the door, she slipped in. "You up yet? I've got McDonald's." She called out as she headed into the kitchen. She wasn't nearly as hungover as she had been expecting to be this particular morning, which was nice, but she had a feeling Abel wasn't fairing nearly as well.
Last night should've went down differently, but he ended up leaving because he didn't want to ruin the mood even more. Which, he didn't understood why he had became depressed and moody. After he texted Marley when he woke up around noon, he jumped into the shower and just let the water ran down his body, trying to make sense of everything that happened.
He turned off the water, he grabbed the towel that was hanging up and dried himself before he wrapped it around his waist. He glanced at his phone,  seeing if his parents texted him about Isabella but nothing and let out a sigh when he heard Dani.
Abel turned off the fan, headed out of the bathroom and yawned. "Yeah, I’m up. What did you get?" He asked as he walked into the kitchen and looked into the bag of food.
Dani looked back at Abel as he came into the kitchen. "An unholy amount of chicken nuggets and fries," she said as she began to pull the shirt off her back. It was soaked in sweat, between a nightmare she'd had and the walk home. Being free of it she draped it over her arm and turned her attention fully to Abel. "So, you want to eat before, during, or after I tear you a new one for last night?" She placed a hand on her hip and tilted her head. She really hoped he chose before so she could grab a shower, but it didn't entirely matter to her in the moment.
Abel nodded when he saw them and looked for the of sweet & sour sauce. He glanced over at her after he thought about it. "If you're going to slap me, go ahead and get over with it. I deserve it and I shouldn’t have been like that, I’m owning up to my shit and can always write a cute I’m sorry card and send sorry I’m asshole balloons to Max's place." He replied as he took a sip of sweet tea. "Also, if I knew why my mood shifted during drinks, I would tell you but I don't know why, aight? Don't know why I became distant or became an asshole. So go ahead and rip me a new one, I don't care."
Dani sighed as Abel spoke, taking the shirt off her arm and twisting it tight and then whipping it at him, the shirt slapping him across the abdomen. "While I'm sure he'd find it amusing, I do think it's unnecessary." She looked at him, wanting so bad to still be angry at him, to rage and fight, but if there was one thing that cooled her jets, it was someone feeling sorry. "You're grieving and stressed and alcohol is a depressant. Had we stayed here last night we'd have been drunk and crying into our ice cream. It's why I wanted to go out. I was hoping it'd help." She walked up to him, draping her shirt over her shoulder. "You want to know why I was angry? Because you acted like you being upset was the worst thing that could have happened to my night. You acted like just because you weren't okay it would bring me down, you know what brought me down? You leaving."
Abel let out an 'ow' before he glanced over at her. "Okay, I'll just give it to you then." He replied as he looked at her. He turned so his body was facing her and leaned against the counters. He opened up his mouth, closed it when she started to talk again and  swallowed hard as he tried not to cry as he looked down at his feet. "I know that you had a shit ton of things going on, I knew me being sad and depressed last night wasn’t the key thing that you need. We went out because you needed a distraction from being held up in here. Granted yes, we would've been crying into our ice creams because we sometimes do that." He paused for a bit and let out a sigh. "I’m sorry for leaving last night, I’m sorry for bringing you down by doing that. The only thing I was focusing on was that, you were having fun last night with Max and I didn't want to ruin it and I guess I did that anyway by leaving."
She shook her head, rolling her eyes a bit. "Again, amusing, but unnecessary."  She wrapped her arms around him and rested her chin on his chest so she was looking up at him. "But you neglected what you needed by focusing on what I wanted and what you thought I needed. Yes, we went out for me, but I never wanted it to be all about me. You're my best friend and I hate seeing you upset like that, but that doesn't mean I want you to leave when you do." Dani smiled at him. "Apology accepted, but please know I'm entirely blaming you for the fact drunk me texted Santana, cause you would have made sure I didn't do it."
Abel wrapped his arms around her when he felt her arms around him and let out a sigh. "I figured it would be for the best if I do leave, instead of making a scene right there and then." He replied softly as he glanced down at her and gave her a small smile before he raised an eyebrow.  "Shit, next time I'll take your phone with me and make sure you don't get it back."
"Darlin', all you had to do was pull me aside for a min and talk to me, but you didn't. You made up your mind and left. All that ever does is make people worry 'bout you." She looked away, resting her head on his chest in a more comfortable position. "It's not all bad. I just needed someone to talk to after Max passed out and her number was there. I mean we got into a weird, important conversation which I fuckin' hate, but I was drunk enough not to care. Hey, it could be worse, I could have texted Angela."
Abel tried to blink away the tears but one escaped and rolled down his cheek as he rubbed her back. "I’m sorry." He whispered. He wiped away the tear as he listened to her and glanced down at her. "Yeah, which reminds me. Gimme your phone." He held out his hand and knew that he had to do this.
Dani looked up at Abel and nodded a bit. "Apology accepted." She then pulled away from him, eyebrow raised. "Hell no. Tell me why you want it."
"Thank you." Abel said as he looked down at her. He raised an eyebrow as he kept his hand out. "To rename Santana in your phone and I’m sure Angela is blocked, but gotta make sure."
Dani crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him. "Even drunk me knows Angela's number by heart so it doesn't matter, but her number and contact and all of her texts are gone. As for Santana, no. It's fine. It's not like I was typical drunk texting. I started talking about Max cause he's her fucking cousin and then the conversation changed. She asked about my drinkin’ habits and I made a snide comment about Angela and she asked if she needed to commit murder."
Abel coped her movement and looked down at her as he leaned against the counter more to look at her better. "So this entire time, Max's Santana's cousin? Well shit." He replied as he moved his arms so he can propped himself onto the counter carefully and crossed his legs over each one. "Oh so is she gonna pretend she didn't break up with you for her ex? 'Cause that's not gonna roll with me."
Dani shrugged. "Apparently. " Dani rolled her eyes, sighing at his words. "She's apologized more than she ever needed to. I was over her before the end of that year. Sure, being back I'm hit with feelings and shit but that's not just because of her." Unfolding her arms, she stuck them in her back pockets. "She wants to try being friends, I'm not against that. She cares, or something."
Abel listened to her, slowly nodded and looked at her. "As along she doesn’t hurt you, that's all I’m sayin'." He replied as he walked past her and headed into his room. He shut his door, walked towards his dresser and grabbed a pair of underwear. He slid his underwear on, slipped a pair of basketball shorts and hung his towel once he was in the bathroom.
Dani sighed, nodding. "She won't." While she couldn't guarantee Santana wouldn't, she had a feeling she wouldn't. Santana wanted to fix things, that wasn't a bad thing, was it? As Abel left, Dani slipped out of her shoes and jeans, digging through her suitcase in hopes of finding something decent to wear after her shower. She'd text Santana after she showered.

Three Mopes At A Pub || Max&Abel&Dani
Who: Max Souza @maxellissouza & Abel Hayward @hayabel & Dani Harper
When: Tuesday, 07/24/18 - After 9 pm
Where:  The Pub
What: Max runs into Abel and Dani, they spend some time together before Abel decides to leave
Notes: alcohol & depression || also I’m terrible at names
Max nodded at the bartender when he was asked if he wanted a third drink, figuring there was no harm in it. He usually stuck to a two drink maximum, as he was a lightweight, but he had the time before work to sleep it off anyway, and he was in a pretty crappy mood. He'd finally gotten the chance to go out with that cute girl from the coffee shop that he'd been chasing for weeks, only for her to leave once he'd told her what he did for a living. Why was it such a big deal to people? So he danced around in his underwear for a living, there were worse professions a person could have! He sipped on his whiskey, grimacing a little as he did. He hated the stuff, but it was what men drank, and since he was nearing the age of twenty-two, it was probably time he started acting like one. That's what his parents said, anyway.
He was considering just leaving the bar and going home for an early night in, when he saw two slightly familiar faces walk in. He'd only had one brief conversation with Dani, and an even shorter one with Abel, but they'd both been really nice to him. And leaving without at least saying hi would be rude, he could almost hear his mother nagging him in the back of his head. So, before he could stop himself, he walked over in their direction, hoping that they would remember him and he wouldn't totally embarrass himself by saying hello.
Abel was looking forward to going out with Dani. Between everything, he was pretty relaxed ever since he got back to New York. Granted seeing Marley  was pretty relaxing as well. He checked up on Isabella, hoping she was doing okay with his parents and being in Lima. "So, how many drinks are we going to be drinking tonight?" He asked as he looked at Dani and looked over to see a familiar face. If he remembered correctly, his name was Max and he waved. "Yo."
Dani was glad to have Abel back in New York. She was also glad to be going out for drinks, she needed it. Being back in New York was starting to feel like a terrible idea, but she knew it was what she needed for her career. It wasn't like she'd been expecting a warm welcome from anyone, much less old friends and her ex girlfriend and, in truth, she wasn't expecting anything from Santana. The messages she'd exchanged with Santana, posting Stone Cold, it all had her head spinning and the only way she knew to make it stop was alcohol. It was nice to be going out, doing stuff, it kept her mind off shit. "You want a number or will you accept I want to down as many as it takes to stop feeling like I want to run away?" She laughed a bit, following her gaze to the familiar face. Max. "Howdy."
Max let out a sigh of relief when they both seemed to recognize him, at least, if they were actually talking to him. A quick look over his shoulder made him realize that they were, so he smiled and came closer. "Hey, guys. Having a fun night?"
"Just enough so I can pay the tab later and make you stop feeling like you need to run away because its not healthy." Abel pointed out before he turned his attention towards the guy. "Yeah, just starting actually. What about you, having a fun night. Also want to have drinks with us? Since we haven't started drinking yet."
"I got some cash, you ain't gotta buy all my drinks. And I know, and yet that's what I've been doin' my entire life. Runnin from it all." She shrugged a bit and smiled at Max. The conversations he'd had with him had been interesting and he really seemed like a nice guy. "Ask me after a couple drinks, you'll get a better answer, but I'm sure we're in for a decent night."
Max shook his head, glancing at the door before turning back to them. "Nah, that's okay, I wouldn't want to intrude or anything. I was just going to head home, call it an early night." He shrugged, a little sadly, taking another look at the door in hopes that his date would suddenly walk back through it.
"Or you can pay me back." Abel replied with a knowing look. He raised an eyebrow when he heard Max, then looked towards the door and looked back at the guy. "C'mon, you won't be intruding. Besides, you're in for good company anyway. Unless you gotta work in the morning?"
Dani rolled her eyes at Abel, but smiled. However, it faltered as she heard Max talk. "Now, I ain't gonna stop ya if you've got work, but other than that I'm gonna insist you stay.  At least for one drink. I don't like the idea of anyone goin home sad." She put a hand on her hip, eyeing Max.
"I uh..." He sighed and scratched the top of his head. "I have work tomorrow night starting at midnight? So... should probably... you know. Rest up for that." It wasn't that he didn't want to hang out with Dani and Abel, he was sure they'd be a lot of fun, but he didn't want to feel like a third wheel. Especially not when he was in a sour mood, and at risk for ruining their fun. "I guess maybe one drink couldn't hurt though."
"She has a point and if I was you, I wouldnt argue with her. Or she'll slap you upside the head." Abel nodded as he put his hand up just in case she would. "Awesome, feel free to take a set and enjoy. Is everyone cool with shots?"
Dani smirked at Abel, laughing a bit. "That I will, and beside, midnight tomorrow is a long way from now, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to rest up." She hated seeing people upset at the bar, but especially when she herself wasn't in the best mood. She wanted to help people feel better, cause somewhere along the line she'd feel better. "I'm always good with shots."
Max nodded and sat down at the bar, giving them a small, only slightly foced smile. "Okay, but just one. It doesn't take too many of those before I'm at the point where trying to order an Uber is like solving a Rubex cube." He was starting to feel grateful that Dani and Abel had walked in. This at least beat sitting at home and moping, that was for sure.
"I have never heard someone compared solving a Rubex cube to ordering an Uber. I like it." Abel said as he looked at Max with a smile. "Alright, I'll go and get us a round of shots and I'll be back." He pulled out his wallet as he headed towards the bar. "Can I get a round of shots?" He ordered with his voice slightly loud,  before he saw a beautiful lady at the bar and grabbed the tray after a while. "Thanks, put it on my tab alright?" He slowly made his way back to the table, hoping he wouldnt be  wearing the liquor.
Dani laughed a bit, at Max's comparison. "Rubix Cube, eh? Guess I could see it." She watched Abel walk away and turned to Max. "You land that tinder date you were lookin for?" She raised an eyebrow, hands stuffed into the pocket of her jeans.  "Or even just someone to talk to?" Her attention wandered towards the bar, smirking a bit as Abel slowly made his way back.
Max smiled at Abel, watching him as he walked away, but his smile fell again at Dani's question. "Oh, well, sort of. You just missed her, actually. She wasn't cool with the whole... stripper thing." He shrugged and turned to her, acting like it stung less than it had. "You win some, you lose some, what are you going to do?"
Abel said excuse me as he walked towards the table and carefully put the tray onto the table. "Lose what? If you don't mind me askin'." He said as he put the tray in the middle of the table and walked back around where he was standing.
Dani sighed, nodding a bit as Max spoke. "Well, if she has an issue with it she doesn't deserve you. Cause there ain't no shame in what you do, and anybody whose got an issue with it ain't worth your time." She nodded her head a bit. Looking over at Abel she smiled. "Tinder dates not worth his time. Or somethin'."
Max nodded, grimacing a little as he picked up the shot. "Yeah. Or something. But it's cool. I'll get over it. With a little help from my friend Mr. Tequila Shot." He tapped the shot glass against the other two and quickly downed it. "Starting to forget her already."
"Oh, yeah no. Tinder's pretty basic for hookups and threesomes, sometimes and there are some people who are on there to make friends." Abel replied as he took a shot and downed it after they tapped shot glasses. He swallowed the tequila, placed it onto the table. "Good."
Dani nodded a bit. She picked up the shot, tapped the glass and downed it, making sure to not slam it back down on the table too hard. "You deserve better anyway." Chuckling a bit, she looked over at whoever was working the bar. "How weird of a look y'all think I'd get from the bartender if I ordered a Tie Me To The Bedpost?" She asked, turning back to the guys.
"I mean, is that an actual drink? Or did you just make that up? Because I think that it would probably seem a little weird if it wasn't one." Max chuckled and shrugged. "But no judgments from me, I mean, if that's what you're into..."
Abel had to hold back from laughing and swallowed his chuckles. He took a minute to breath and let out a breath when he knew he could. "Its an actual drink, don't worry." He replied with a smile and looked over at Dani. "Go and get it. Also no judgement here."
Dani chuckled but stuck her hand on her hip. "Now, that ain't what I asked. I asked how weird a look I'm gettin from him. I was already gonna order it whether y'all were judging me or not." She smiled, but headed off to the bar anyway, leaning up against it to flag down the bartender in question. "Can I get a tie me to the bedpost, hun?" Dani smiled at the way the bartender went red, her bottom lip between her teeth. She paid out of pocket for it and winked at the still flustered bartender before walking back over to the guys.
Max watched the interaction with a laugh, taking a second to check out the bartender. "The poor guy. He's too cute to be teased like that. Not that he seems to mind, anyway. Though I hope he doesn't think he actually has a shot with you, because that'd just be cruel."
Abel grabbed another shot, downed it and placed it onto the table. "Eh, let the guy dream until she pops his bubble." He murmured as he placed his empty shot glass and grabbed another one.
"Oh but that's the fun part. But don't worry, I'll order a sweet tight pussy at some point and settle it." She grinned, taking a sip of her drink. It was a little weird to be drinking fruity stuff, after so much Jack, but that was precisely why she was doing it. Dani knew Jack would get her drunk, he was her old faithful, but she wasn't just looking to get drunk. She was looking to have a good time and forget for a bit, find reasons to not run, find friends, people to tease, people to flirt with. Just have fun.
Max eyebrows went up a little at that, and he nearly choked on his drink. "You know, I should probably be used to hearing those words by now, but I guess this is one time I wasn't expecting them. Jesus, yeah, I think that might do the trick."
Abel licked his lips before he placed his other shot glass next to his other two. "While you two bond over nasty shit, Ima get myself rum and coke." He walked away from the table and stood at the counter. Don't get him wrong, he would chime in but lately he hadnt been feeling himself. "Can I get a rum and coke and I'll just pay the tab right now if I can." He said as he pulled out his wallet and paid for it all. He told them thank you, grabbed it and took it back to the table.
"Sorry, not sorry?" Dani said, but turned to watch Abel, her face scrunching up. Something was off. She knew Abel well enough to know when he wasn't okay. She sighed, sipping her drink, trying to figure out what was wrong, as if she stared at him long enough the answer would just become obvious. As he came back she turned back towards Max. "What're you drinkin'?"
Max shrugged and took another sip of his whiskey with a grimace. "Whiskey. I hate it. It tastes like death and misery."  He looked over at her fruity drink with envy. "Wanna trade?"
Abel took a drink of his rum and coke, ignored the conversation and took another shot. He placed the empty shot glass next to the others, wiped his mouth and focused on his drink.
"Death and misery, eh? Never thought I'd hear one of my favorite drinks called such, but sure, ain't nobody need to be tasting misery right now." She set the drink down and slid it towards him. Whatever was going on with Abel really throwing her off. "I can't carry your ass home, slow it down." Her words were almost too gentle for what she was saying.
Max gratefully took a long sip of the fruity drink, happy to get the taste out of his mouth. He finally noticed Abel's sour mood, and  looked closely at him with concern. "Hey, I know it's not really my place, but are you okay, man?"
"Yeah, Im fine. Just, having a moment. That's all." Abel replied as he held back his tears and pocketed his pants. "I'm gonna go ahead and leave, don't wanna ruin the mood that's going on here." He looked at Dani. "So I will see you back at the apartment and." He looked back at Max. "I'll see you around, aight? Thanks for the drinks and  see you guys around." He gave them a small smile and headed towards the door.
Dani narrowed her eyes at Abel, held up a finger to let Max know to hold on, and immediately followed him, fist curling into the back of his shirt. "Not so fast. If you think I'm lettin you walk outta here for the exact same reason I wasn't lettin him leave, you've lost your damn mind and forgot who you're out with. I know you've been goin through shit, but I ain't about to let my best friend go home and mope." She let go of his shirt and crossed her arms over her chest, waiting to see what Abel would do.
Max sunk back into his seat a little, focusing on finishing off Dani's drink and ordering another, instead of their conversation, figuring it'd be better to get drunk than to eavesdrop. Plus, Dani had good taste, the drinks were delicious.
Abel clenched his jaw when she grabbed his shirt. "Let go of my shirt, Dani." He swallowed hard as he looked at her. "No, I didn't forget who I was with, but Im not going to be bringing down the mood when I just want to get drink and get lost in my sorrows when you guys are having fun.  Besides, Im sure I've made a bad impression on the guy already, and another person who hates me." He felt her let go of his shirt. "So, go back and have fun. I will see you back at the apartment." He looked at Max. "It was nice seeing you man, sorry for all of this." He looked back at Dani. "Don't drink too much." He opened up the door and headed back to the apartment.

coffee shop catch up || platonic soulmates
[Tuesday 11/13 2PM]
Dani: wasn't entire sure what everyone thought they saw was going on between her and Maya, but she really had missed Abel and any chance to see him made her happy. Thus, she'd agreed to meet him at their usual coffee place. It'd been a while since Dani had been there, having been avoiding it since her and Abel had their fight, but she still wasn't expecting the general level of excitement to go up as she entered. Sheepishly, she waited in line, not entirely surprised when her order was spouted off to her instead of the other way around. She went ahead and also ordered Abel's before taking a seat at an open table, double checking her neckline for any stray hickies that she might have missed.
