Colin has cancelled Toronto.

Thanks for the heads-up. Here is what Creation has posted. 

April, 2017: We have been advised that Colin O’Donoghue is unable to attend the convention in Toronto. We have already and will be continuing to add replacement guests, including signers on a complimentary basis for Gold and Silver patrons, and also creating a new special panel solely for Gold Patrons. Please bear with us while these changes occur. Those with solo Colin autograph tickets or photo ops can change these Colin items for VOUCHERS at the convention. You may use these VOUCHERS towards other items at the convention (available autographs and photo ops, admission tickets and Creation merchandise). If you prefer a refund for your Colin solo items please send the VOUCHER to Creation 217 South Kenwood, Glendale, CA 91205 Attention: Ed.

That is sad news for any CSers that were planning to go to that con since both Jen and Colin have cancelled. Hopefully the additions of Karen David, Sean Maguire, and Jared Gilmore will help a little bit with the sting. 

We will be keeping the page for Toronto up for now but since it’s no longer a CS con we won’t be adding info to the page.

Hey! I'm going to OUAT convention next month and I am wondering how the panels work? Can anyone with a general admissions ticket go? Or do I have to have a special ticket? Just wondering what else I'm gonna do besides the cosplay competition and getting a picture with Colin (no Jen :().

Let’s talk about happy things like conventions right now to distract me.

So, the way the Creation events work is that your ticket gets you into all the panels, except the gold-only panel that runs first thing in the morning on Sat and Sun. If you have general admission you don’t get a specific seat, so you just find the general section (the seats without numbers on them) and sit down. Each actor does their panel (some do them as duos) and anyone can ask a question, lines form at the microphones on the sides. If you want to ask Colin a question, get in line as soon as you can, because they won’t have time to get to everyone.

In between panels there will be other things happening on the stage like trivia contests, the costume contest, they auction off things like signed photos. Photo ops take place in a separate room and you can’t watch those, you just go in, wait for the people ahead in line to take their pic, do yours, and leave. It goes by really fast and there’s no time to do more than say hello and thank you. Sean said “Hello darling!” when I went up to him, we hug, they took the picture and boom, done. They print an 8x10 and put all of the photos on a table, you have to sift through them to find yours. You can also order a JPEG to be emailed to you for $10.

There’s a vendor area with T-shirts, mugs, etc, and they sell pictures of the actors if you need something for them to autograph. Autographs take place at the end of the day in the auditorium, but they put the headliners behind screens cause they don’t want people taking pictures of them signing.

If you’re on your own you can always find the CSers - a lot of people wear T-shirts and carry tote bags and things with Hook, CS. I started talking to two ladies in the photo op line after overhearing them talk about Colin’s photoshoot for NKD magazine - and it turned out they were on Tumblr!

On Friday evening there’s karaoke in the auditorium - it’s open to all, even people not attending the con. Some of the cast will sing, and fans also go up on stage and cast members come sing with them. In Toronto we had Raphael, Adam, Karen, Gil, Beverly, Michael and Chris appear (scroll back a bit in my blog and I posted a video of them all singing Sweet Caroline). Saturday there was an evening concert - I didn’t actually go to it but several of the cast performed, including Sean and Jared. I’m not sure if the concert is included in the general admission or not, but there is a separate ticket you can buy for it.

If you go on Instagram and check out the tag #OUATTOR you’ll see tons of pics from people who were at the con. There was some amazing cosplay, and the cosplayers love it if you go up and compliment their work, will pose for pictures. There was a very cute Hook as part of a group of four with a Regina, Emma and Belle. Only he was from Montreal, so imagine Hook with a French accent!

I had a great weekend, and even without Colin and Jen it was still lots of fun. Gil and Bex in particular are both very funny and great with the crowd. Plus it’s just such an experience to be with so many other Oncers who all love this silly fairytale show.

Since there is already a OUAT convention announced for Vancouver in March 2018 next year, do you think there will be more OUAT conventions announced in other cities (i,e Toronto, New York or wherever)? So you think any main cast members that have left will go if they are able to?

I think Vancouver, Chicago, and New Jersey will all have conventions next year. They already said that they will not be returning to Toronto and Denver.

Well since Jen cancelled. (I do wish her all the best)

It’s time to send out good vibes for her replacement, and the first person that came to mind is Josh Dallas. He would be an awesome replacement. @lizacstuff thinks so too. I know he doesn’t really do cons a lot, but who knows, maybe he would do the thing.
