So, I'm re-reading the beginning of One Piece before the live action comes out. And I almost forgot what an absolute MENACE Luffy can be. And how much I'm sort of absolutely inspired I am by those moments. That's definitely a part of why he's my favorite.

The way he challenges Nami with his grin here is the absolute BEST.

So I made a post about the weighting the One Piece live action would place on certain arcs, knowing at one point they do the feet-on-the-barrel moment, which is as they go up Reverse Mountain..

However after reviewing the cast on IMDb and doing some investigating, the show is meant to end just after the Arlong arc. Which means they do the feet-on-the-barrel moment much sooner.

So no Logue Town or iconic scene where Buggy nearly chops Luffy’s head off. Also I heard there are meant to be 10 scripts but they changed to 8 episodes so idk how many eps there will be. I’m operating on 8 episodes. It would be fun if they bait and switched and did 10 eps with Logue Town inclusive but idk

So here’s a new version of the episode weighting, after looking at how many eps each actor is involved

EP 1:

Luffy’s classic intro, meets Koby, defeats Alvida

Introduced to Zoro, meet antagonist Ax Hand Morgan and Helmeppo

EP 2:

Nami introduced, helps to defeat Ax Hand Morgan

Also get introduced to Buggy and defeat in the same episode (since he’s only got 1 ep???)

EP 3:

Introduction to Usopp, also get backstory on Nami

Meet Kuro, possibly have plot twist here where he’s revealed to be the bad guy

EP 4:

Defeat Kuro, Introduction to Sanji and start of the Baratie arc

Get back story on Sanji/meet Genzo

End with Nami stealing the Going Merry

EP 5:

Don Krieg arrives and he and Luffy do battle

Nami meets back with Arlong

EP 6:

Mihawk-Zoro fight????? Either this ep or the previous episode bc we gotta leave Baratie but Zeff only has 2 episode credits

On their way to meet Nami

More Arlong stuff, we see Nami’s debt, maybe meet Nojiko bc she also only has 2 episode credits

Gang arrives and encounter Arlong

EP 7:

Nami back story, Belle-Mere introduction

Nami finally asks for help, Luffy does The Thing. You know the Thing.

Start of big Arlong battle

EP 8:

Conclusion of Arlong Park arc

Foot on the barrel moment as they become a true pirate crew.
